  • I like how vai just doesn't write music, but he writes in the whole performance aspect so when he's on stage he's not only playing something cool, but the way he plays it is cool too.

  • 4:04 - 4:23 Enough said.

  • Standing alone with an electric guitar on a stage with a classical orchestra and sounding that good is HELL of an achievement!!!

  • So fuckin good with that whammy

  • 3:55

  • Well ..... all in all , Steve's a pretty accomplished guitarist to say the least , some may have negative comments but , he's done more for the guitar world that you may know !

I'm really not a huge Via fan , but his list of accolades will impress you !!

  • Vai tried pretty hard to be epic, but it just sounds like a dying cat with a symphony behind it all. His tone is terrible... I get no feeling out of this at all, just a poser, I'm surprised he didn't bring his portable hair blower wind machine with him, or did he? lol

  • @AetroyayorteA if you didn't get any feeling out of this then you probably don't have any feelings to begin with. tell me does Tender Surrender not give you any emotions either? if your answer is yes then go learn to be loved and come back. sick of you jealous retards thinking Vai is just trying to show off. hes obviously playing his heart out

  • Damn! These Justin Bieber fans are everywhere!! 178 of them here!

  • PULGARES ARRIBA SI STEVE ES EL MEJOR DEL MUNDO

  • 177 sordos xD

  • ¿Quienes son los 177 motherfuckers a los que no les gusta?

  • boskie :)

  • I love how Steve Vai can play simple melodies (even when he is one of the most technical players in the whole world) and it sounds like it is the most sophisticated thing ever composed.

  • Better and better every time I hear it. So sweet, so lovely... The very definition of 'gorgeous', right here.

  • 5:51 Matt Damon on Timpani.

  • 6:20 - Cat!

  • 3:55 ORGASM

  • 4:21 "revealed that our tears turned to blood. vai vibrato goes crazy as he's cryin showing some secret strength to us".

Fuck Yeah, Leave me alone, I'm cryin!!

  • His playing is pretty damn good O_o

His faces make me think the reason the sound is so good is not because he's playing with his fingers...but with something else....

  • 1:39 "Oops.."

  • @Mtc529 hendrix was nowhere near being as good as page or blackmore, and vai is better than the two of them

  • @MysterioFan02

you mean technically ? because music is subjective people might consider jack white a great guitarist though he's sloppy and that's ok, to each his opinion ,technique is the only objective thing when it comes to music

  • @algrand90 well yes technically, i wouldn't dare compare the 3 in any other aspect, considering they were/are extremely innovative and creative, and vai is just amazing, thats unquestionable!

  • @MysterioFan02

that's ok then, you are one of the few who agree with me in that point

  • Love and Light

  • hmmm, a handle in the guitar, handy

  • he just raped that guitar

  • To shred, or not to shred...

  • 175 people have tiny penises.

  • 3:56 and I have chills...

  • Damn...With the way he plays guitar like the instrument is just a natural part of him, his mastering of every technique, his innovative ways with the sound of guitar and his talent for making beautiful music, I dare say Vai is the Hendrix of our time.

  • @Mtc529 Being the Hendrix fan I am, I cannot beleive I'm saying this, but I'm pretty sure Vai has far surpassed Hendrix.

  • رائع واكثر من رائع

  • me cago en el de abajo.!

  • Comment removed

  • I get surreal chills........

  • Its like he surprises himself when he's playing. ""How the fuck did that happen?""

  • Funny face godess sound!!

  • Comment removed

  • With his expressions is impossible to say if he's playing the guitar or if at the same time the guitar plays him and he plays the guitar..

  • I could "like it" a thousand times!

  • 4:50-5:17 Wow... not only the fast notes.. but his emotion.. looks like he is praying like: Thank you god for giving me some of your powers...

  • @annolenno So much shred, but he's not overplaying a single note. He's really in touch with something ethereal.

  • @dann3th3manni3 Amen

  • @IShotBinIaden haha thats good

  • he must've been born with a guitar.. it's like he's one with it.. beautiful

  • 4:08 amazing!

  • 1:33 - 1:59 wasn't there a tune like this in the movie Pearl Harbor?

  • Pas terrible.

  • vai is truely amazing! by far my favorite guitarist... but i have to say... epic cum face at 2:03 =D

  • What makes him great is that he puts feeling in his playing

  • very good !

     muito bom

  • someone call the police ... that guitar has just been raped !!!

  • 3:54 - that massive boom of the drums in to the amazing crescendo with Vai...I'm in love...

  • Is that a Tubax next to the harp at 0:13 ?

  • 3:50 awesome

  • increible... increible

  • the ending was just unnecessary.....but everething else is genious

  • technically incredible and for the majority excellent, but when guys like this rise beyond criticism it starts to get weird...the ending was weird.

  • This man is a friggin genius!

  • 0:36 Emotional VAI

  • great playing. but I never liked his tone. it's kinda cold.

  • @brainstormer9

its not supposed to be an upbeat song

  • I wonder if anybody ever asked him, "can ya make dat thang tawk"?

  • 173 ppl needs to suck a dick!!!

  • This really is so beautiful, I can't believe the magic in this piece. It's breathtaking.

  • 4:51 to 5:20 is the BEST. The light in his head like a God

  • helloes ZED

  • 0:48 classic steve vai right there, that never gets old.

  • hermosoo pero monstruoso !!

  • Its funny I just noticed all his guitars are bolt-ons, I would think the custom shop would make him neck-thrus'.

Maybe the bolt ons "tour" Better...........anyone know?

  • probably because of slimmer neck. tone values too probably. i'm seeing him tomorrow in a guitar clinic. i can ask him that? lol. the sustain of neck throughs/set neck is a total myth. any good luthier could set up a bolt on with proper sustain.

  • @KowaruKei Thats ultra cool about the clinic. Hes a nicd fellow.

I have always felt that neck thrus felt........IDK.........better, more like a les paul, really dense.

I hadnt considerd the neck thickness. Thanks for the lesson bro

  • Respond to this video... and also fret access.

  • 0:52 he was about to cry lol.

  • I've never heard a musician more in touch with the music than Steve is here. He'll always be one of my favorite musicians. And that dramatic buildup starting around 3:53 just does it for me every time :)

  • 2:20 Laughing Vai!

  • i want him to play the theme to legend of zelda

  • Vai looks kind of like Ty Pennington from Extreme Makeover Home Edition, but with long hair.

  • i mean too say i love stevie via and ibanez guitars

  • 4:51 drummer thrust!

  • epic song EVA... srsly from 4:48 to 5:20 is just breath-taking :')

  • Song never really takes off for me, whispering a prayer on the other hand left me in tears for no reason at all...

  • at 3:54 it starts getting on a whole diff. level

  • 4:52-5:16 greatest faces ever made.

  • Can I has good at guitar too?

  • People who dislike his art are complete ignorants! -.- Go Steve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • @JDX45 Do you not realise how ignorant your own comment is?

  • @tom36450 and thats the defoliation of IIIIIIROOOOOONYYYYYYY

  • steve vai once fingered a Women....... she died.

  • the sound of guitar music reaches a orgasm ~

    Steve fucking Vai lml !

  • Come on guys, there are so many great guitarists out there! If you like this you need to check out the following: Marty Friedman/Jason Becker, Joe Satriani, Buckethead, Vinnie Moore, Jeff Loomis, Tony Macalpine. Those are just a few of my favorite instrumental guitarists that I can list off my head. Vai is outstanding, but you need to be educated with everything!

  • @alkimist13 You obviously have never been to a Steve Vai concert or watched him play in person he is most definitely hooked up to the heart and soul of his guitar every1 of his songs is a extension of his emotional state it takes a musician to understand. Furthermore i would like to point out that he is a very experimental guitarist he enjoys pushing his talents and his instrument to the limits that no1 else has.

  • Malmsteen watched this a 170 times...

  • @sysrq120 lol

  • @sysrq120 haha probably

  • I think Vai is the only guitarist who could only speak through his guitar

  • @hialex i think steve vai is the only person that can reenact a orgasm through his guitar and into peoples ears triggering a whole chain reaction of eargasms

  • @hialex wrong dude, Clapton can ;D

  • @hialex yes, he does it well, but he isint the only one :)

  • @hialex but john williams thinks with his guitar

  • @hialex Nah, david gilmour can do that too :D

  • @hialex and Joe Satriani, petrucci, paul gilbert can't?

  • @SirRediazVh i'm really not sure how you forgot hendrix on that list :)

  • @hialex i disagree, there is also andy timmons, jeff beck, people like that, they can all convey the deepest emotions of the soul through their instrument

  • @HALOISAWSUM

to me, our instruments are reflections of ourselves, the voice of the soul for all of us who play.

We can't think that only the famous people can truly express their selves through music.

  • @TommittajaFIN i agree with you man, i just wanted to point out to that guy that there are others, and to do that i had to quote some people that he could actually go and see

  • @hialex Oh man, you mustn't of heard a lot of guitarists then.

  • There's no doubt about it Vai is a gift from the gods!

  • @killswitch489 gift from the gods??? listen to this rendition scooter, and point out one note that is enjoyable to listen to. i too can make sounds on a guitar that make the neighbors cringe. some guitarists are hooked up heart and soul to their instruments. steve isn't

  • @alkimst13 Fuck you buddy. I would like to see you play every pagini song, tender surrender, his rendition of every Van Halen song perfectly and with obvious ease. Go ahead. Let's see.

  • @121mclelly listenability is the point skippy. just cuz you can run up and down the neck, putting in 5 notes where 1 would have done, doesn't mean you should.

  • why isnt his hair blowinng?

  • oh my god.......

  • Slash-Bangs the guitar

Randy Rhoads (R.I.P)- Fucks the guitar

Steve Vai-Makes sweet love to the guitar

  • he's so good i had his vai logo tattooed onto my arm! you're the best steve!

  • has a guitarist myself your playing brings tears to my eyes totally amazing steve ,,,,,,, your number 7s need releasing cheers Carl

  • What blows me away about all of these virtuoso guys and gals is *not* the fact they have the technique and skill to play the notes.... but the fact they actually *wrote* such beautiful and wonderfully complex music in the first place. Playing it 99% note for note live is equally as jaw dropping. Thanks for the vid !

  • damn good plain music

  • 4:09 quite possibly the best guitar fife ever

  • Eargasm from 2:00 to 2:04 xD...

  • Però che merda di finale cazzo!

  • Steve Vai came in 4:30

  • 04:20 Dramatic, Vai.

  • 1:39 Drum fail lol :D

  • 5:12 Steve Vai didn't make it out the other side?! First time I've seen him fail.

  • @BraydonSzafranski He is human after all :D

  • You don't human ,cuase you is alien

  • if you take the guitars away from steve, ingwy or randy rhoads theyr just funny dressed guys. not to mention angus young

  • Great song from a great artist
