@texxxann My most recent video is called "Hooping to K'Naan". It features a lot of crisp reversals, isopops, and on and off body techniques. Although entirely freestyled, my main goal in the video was to demonstrate hooping on a beat. Check it out!
the guy who posted the message down below, bghon, is a friend of mom and me that we play world of warcraft with. lives in Singapore. told him to take a look. apparently he got a huge kick out of it? :)
WORD BROTHA! This is an AMAZING form of hooping! It totally made me want to grab my hoops, but dammit It's a lil late... If you try gently sanding the inside perimeter of your hoop it will make it much more grippy without havng to tape it.. Just some friendly knowledge. Keep on rockin! I enjoyed watchin!
i watched this without sound since i'm at work (shhh!) so i had to imagine the MJ sounds. luckily i know the song quite well from my adolescence, lol. you've got some nice flow goin' on. you should come to the hoop path retreat in june!
that was awesome man. Those isolation breaks are lookin badass. But everything is pretty much, as always, flawless. Inspirational, yadda yadda...all that crap. See you later dude
I'm dancing here with a 3/4" 160 psi hoop. It's not taped, so it's crazy slippery. The jacket made it even harder to control, so I'm really happy with how smooth most of the reversals came out. And yeah, it was definitely campy. But c'mon. How could I pass up this opportunity to enshrine a classic in hooping history? ;)
Well FWIW I loved the campiness. And its was *very* smooth, which is partly why I thought it was a lighter hoop. Excellent control and flow throughout. I've got a ways to go w/ my chest hooping still.
The Baxter-esque Warrior style at 2:45 is really great, and high on my list of moves to learn.
great stuff gary! I really liked the above the head isolation, that was fantastic! i do hafta admit the camera kept going in and out of focus and it was a bit distracting (at first i thought it was my eyes getting watery cause i wasn't blinking) :) the ending was f*ing epic. well done my warrior monawin hooper!
dude, lovin' it x

Loving the Isolations. Love your arm movements as the hoops glides around. Very dancer-ly.
Work it man.

That's definitely the most campy hoop video I've ever seen, but you definitely pulled it off.
And yeah the corkscrew isolation at 3:30 that ShpongledHoops mentioned is pretty sweet.
If I were to guess, it looks like you got a lighter hoop. No?
And this makes me want to get back into waist hooping more as I've got into working a lot with tossing minis.
