If I installed ubuntu like this, would there be any speed decrease from a standard install? And also if I upgraded to a new version of ubunutu, would the 'backup' feature keep all settings such as themes/resolutions etc, or just files?
after I installed it, when I restarted the computer and chose to start ubuntu over vista, it showed ubuntu loading and then it took me to a screen that said this
boot option (1) iso ignoring
busy box v1.10.2 (ubunt 1:1.10.2-2ubuntu7) built in shell
enter 'help' for a list of built in commands
(initramfs):
im not a big com guy so i dont know what to do from there
Well ... hooray, thanks! A Video called "Installing Wubi" - the Question "How do I install Ubuntu via Windows" - and the Video itself is about deinstalling it! That helps.
if you mean it just will not fire at all a lot of time the ram has dust or wht ever on tri to pull the ram out putt it back in i got a lot of pc befor like this free becase people gave up on it and i heard of a case where the key board whent that can make it not start
I have a question about Wubi..if Windows crashes or some reason. Will Linux also crash or is it going to be fine? Since Linux was installed using Windows...That's the only thing I'm worried about..
dude, i have windows xp, but i only have 1 hd, how can you access the two SOs with only 1? do you need a 2nd drive? and another thing, can you connect your pc with ubuntu wubi to a wireless internet connection in a laptop?
No idea what an "SO" is? As for using Wubi, it fakes a partition while basically installing inside of Windows like a program.
Assuming you have watch my wireless videos and understand that wifi cards designed for Windows are likely to provide hours of frustration, you should be fine. In short, if you are relying on that cheap internal wifi card that is not Intel based, you will likely want to invest in a compatible USB wifi dongle. Google Shopping for Zyair g-220 will get you going. :)
Black Screen? Nothing at all is showing up? Are you still able to get into Windows? Without some idea as to what is being seen, it is difficult to actually help.
Linux is supposed to have its own kernel and file system right. How is all that taken care of? Can we still use the console and use system calls etc etc..
hi i have a problem i installed wubi and i choose kubuntu but for some reason my arrow keys wont go up and down it just stays on the windows link i need help
so i have a pentium 4 pc, 512 mb ram with windows xp. before i install ubuntu, do i have to back-up any files? install it on an other hard drive than my windows? and will it affect any windows components?
What if you want to run Ubunto from Wubi and you are keeping Windows as a safety measure can you actually just run it all the time and it will not over work your hd or computer?
when you first opened ubuntu and it started setup, did it stay in the DOS screen for a really long time, because I'm trying it on my desktop and its just staying at a DOS screen for a really long time.
Does it work on windows 7?

@JoeAlcorn Yes, it should. Google it, can't post the how-to video in comments, but it shows up on Google just fine.
