When Richard Nixon started the war on durgs in 1972 the federal budget allocation for the war on drugs was $101 million, today the federal budget allocation is $20 billion and yet today there are more drugs in this country, they are less expensive, and they are of better quality then they were in 1972.

I think the U.S.Government should legalize Marijuana... It's a whole new industry that would employ millions. Talk about new tax revenue! I'm not into drugs - but marijuana is basically harmless. The worst it will do is make you really hungry,and then very tired.

@jcoopercam In The Netherlands it's a fairly sizeable market already and profitable business as history has pointed out.

There are coffeeshops (which sell marijuana), growshops (to grow weed), smartshops (smart products and shrooms.. not really weed, but they do sell bongs and pipes), 'seed companies' and off course the illegal growers (and magazines and events and stuff). If only they could make the part of more than five plants growing (for a profit) legal and I would be in marijuana!
