  • so soothing!

  • This is actually from 1963, but a flawlessly beautiful recording of the tune, regardless.

  • @MelosAntropon You know I can not get a strait answer from anyone on this ,for years I thought it was 1964 ,then someone (a Venture) said '62 and now 1963...it stays for the sake of my own mind...thank you for the comment!

  • Oh I love this!!! :D

  • I'm trying to get this sound on my guitar without success. This sound is just great!

  • ...very nice...loved it

  • this is one of the best instrumental of ue wo muite arukou...

  • perfect as always

  • Wonderful!!!!!!

  • Beautifully done....

  • amazing...great playing...

  • @kaedshak Thank you for your comment and i am sure The Ventures thank you as well.

  • 87 people are cool...3 have no taste! (Abolish thumbs down!!!)

  • with music like this who can even come close to matching these guys. Beautiful arrangement with the guitar sounds of the greatest band ever!

    Mosrite60

  • Bobby Vee also did an English translation (different from the Taste of Honey version) on an album. I believe it was on one of the "30 Big Hits of The 60's albums). It's most excellent also. It's a GREAT song no matter who does it!

  • @thegilker Indeed...there have been many interpretations of this song, but no one to my vast knowledge no one has ever done a Japanese to English interpretation directly.

I agree that it is a heartfelt song.

  • @thegilker He used the same lyrics as Jewel Akens. Janice Johnson of A Taste Of Honey wrote new lyrics for their version. Akens' version carries the subtitle "My First Lonely Night" starting with line "I hold my head up high"

  • Stoppin' by to have another listen to this song... one of my favorites! Hope all is well with you, Stu ~ you're AWESOME!

  • @LADYSEASTAR Thak you for being a sweetheart to me and a tru fan of The Ventures...never met you ,but would be cool to someday! ;-D <3 Stu

  • @harvey1954 This was done at a standard speed of the original kuy Sacamoto vocal, i do not like sped-up version of any Ventures tune, so in this event I will refrain from "Looking it up" and since this has over 32k hits, I cant see why anyone would down it.

  • Wish I had a Mosrite guitar.

  • @XxshipleyxX just look on eBay ,or Google it up for around 1-4k(+)...the Wilson brother model is economical and almost has the Mosrite sound under 1k!!!

  • well you could say original, because there's only one Ventures instrumental band. but organic in the sense where when you talk instrumental rock bands of the 60s, the Ventures are the organic, fertile soil where you go to get the 101 [basics].

  • @damanfrom808 Organic?? did you perhaps mean original.

Thanks for the story and the visit, glad you enjoyed this!

  • Very nice song. Has a bit of a Western feel to it. Like it would be played at the end of a old western film.

  • This is about a boy whos' girlfriend dumped him and the same with kyu Sakamotos' vocal of the song, since it's sung in Japanese. That's from the liner notes of a record album I had along with 11 other song sung in Japanese.

  • @wwrigle2 Thank you for the accurate account of this tune, it is rare that people know this. :-))

  • Absolutely the most heart-wrenchingly beautiful version of this song ever recorded.

The composer of the melody was a genius, and Nokie Edwards lead guitar take onit is perfect. Thanks for posting, stupullen!

  • The first was a vocal by Kyo Sakamoto, then a English version in the 80's by A Taste of Honey...I really do not know who wrote the music, however The Ventures instrumental version here was converted by The Ventures. ;-)

  • The Ventures are the best!

  • Absolutely!

52 glorious years and still going, 2008 RRHOF winners & recent rising sun award in Japan...The best is indeed a description of these legends.

  • @mwconner1 The Shadows :) ! How about "Perfidia" under name "Meatballs" :)

  • Totally hooked on this song , so many good versions...

  • Glad you enjoy, come back anytime!

  • great song

  • I still got a 1964 compact disc with this recording that belongs to my father. I first litened to it when I was just 6 years old in 1972 and I started to learn music becouse of it.

  • Cool, in 1964 I believe it was/is called a 45rpm record.

    Welcome to my videos/channel. : )

  • It is a tune that represents Japan. Good old days are recalled when listening to this tune though Japan changed considerably at that time at the time of be announced this tune.

  • Thank you for the input & comment.

    I really appreciate the rate.

  • Culture, street, and hot spring in Japan

Japan is a good point again.

It entered the sukiyaki sound nature against the background of VENTURES on a young day.

  • I really kind of slapped this one together, I'm glad you enjoy it & thanks for the rate.
