could be a 454 or a 350. that generation had quite a bit of options for motors from factory. used to have a 79 GMC 454, and when you put a 22 foot empty car hauler on it, we smoked the tires and left half inch of rubber on the road and sidewalk for 20 feet, with a bad rear end. The skid marks are still there after more then 5 years.
