@ShiftingReality i want the stereotype and lie of hetero on homo crime acts to calm down, i proved to you the problem is much worse in reverse ESPECIALLY compared to relative populations of each...
just heard on the radio that one in 7 men say they have been raped/molested... thats a lot of homo crime on heteros because we know women hardly rape at all... 1/4 of women claim some level of abuse as well...
Ah wonderful! Nice to see you appreciate the Goddess ;)
Lisa encapsulates or better yet personifies angelic beauty and sorrow and joy. She's always a wonder to hear. And always brings a shiver down the spine. My dream is to see her perform live. I hope she tours again!
Her voice freaks me out. In a good way i mean. The register is lower than alto, almost male tenor for a start. Then theres the tonality... never heard anything like it it. But for me what makes her voice very spooky and unique is her use of vibrato which is just about the most perfect i've ever heard.
The crescendo at 0.50 never fails to blow me away. Are there any musicians out there that can pinpoint the scale she's singing? Is it C Locrian or Lydian?
@Micsta1467 - I first heard this song in 2002, while watching a 9/11 documentary and it haunted me for years, right up until I discovered the day before I made this video, who sang it. I think the documentary I was watching with this song was directed by Jules and Gedeon Naudet and FDNY firefighter James Hanlon. For more info see article titled: wikipedia 9/11(film).
1:43 is interesting cuz thats his elysium, all he wanted in this film was to be with his family and take out the man responsible, the gods were on his side and nvr let him stop until maximus' blade met the flesh of the emperor's neck.
@JuiceMedia2010 Please and please if you find it let me know. I hope you're right. I'm sure I did already but I'm going to double check with Amazon and going there right now. If I find it I'll let you know. And good luck to you too! AC
@JuiceMedia2010 - This song is originally only 1 minute & aprox. 10 seconds long. That is a great sorrow because as far as I know there is no longer version. That's why the song was looped several times to make it longer. If you find a longer version I would greatly appreciate knowing about it. Thanks.
@chinook654 One of the things that contributed to Rome's downfall. They allowed the people of conquered countries to serve in their military out of necessity since their borders had grown too large. Naturally, when you have plenty of conquered people in your military, some of them became Generals. Many times those Generals were only loyal to their country and would turn on Rome with their own armies. Poetic justice.
@ExploitedYouth87 That didn't happen that often, most non-roman military leaders were never allowed total control of an army, and if they were they still reported directly to a higher ranking general. Secondly - the biggest reason rome fell was because of Bread and Circuses. Roman nobility realized if you gave people free food and entertainment they were loyal. The problem is the caused wide spread laziness and a lack of values other than "give me more" This is our entire western society today.
@YesYouAreIgnorant True, it didn't happen often. I was just replying to Chinook654's comment saying it's a bit odd that they'd have a Spanish general. As I said though, it did contribute to Rome's downfall, especially later on as the Empire was in decline. I wasn't saying it was the only reason.
@MitziBarron0598 - That's all you do go around to everyones music videos and tell people to download that virus and spyware infected website. Let me explain something to you. @charlierixon It's looped several times. This beautiful song is only 1 minute and 8 seconds long. I searched for a longer version and don't think there's any longer than this one. But if you find one please let me know. AC
@Amar90 - I thought the same when I first heard this in 2002. I asked my Arabic friends if they knew this song all that time. Not until I saw the movie Gladiator 10 months ago did I find out the song was by Lisa Gerrard and is less than 2 minutes long.
@Amar90 Lisa Gerrard is an Operatic performer - from Australia I believe - and she is a composer as well. She has particular fondness for performing themes that are Celtic, Persian or Arab in their origin. She possesses this very haunting low vocal register. She first came to my attention when they played her singing "Savane" in a West Wing Episode "Posse Commitatus"
@therealJayRoe - Lisa Gerrard's music is unique because the lyrics in her music is not a known language and only sounds like a language. Her musical talent transcends musical eras and genres and her voice is an instrument itself. I keep her music under "Lisa Gerrard." Her music for me is Spiritual, tender and evokes great sorrow and compassion for mankind.
@ShiftingReality u get it, i do hereby give u the "made up god lingo lisa gerrard award", for all those who get it without really knowing, its a taoist thing... that meditative knowing without saying, even though u did say some stuff, i know u get it without saying it or being able to say it (i think?)...
@glorp896 - A quote by Lisa Gerrard: " I sing in the language of the Heart,” it’s an INVENTED LANGUAGE that I’ve had for a very long time. I believe I started singing in it when I was about 12. Roughly that time. And I believed that I was speaking to God when I sang in that language." Many have stated: "you better be recording when Lisa starts to sing because whatever she starts singing cannot be duplicated." Thank you for comment.
@ShiftingReality i read that, her song in Gladiator fit so well, when he was dying and about to "meet his maker"...
Elizabeth Fraser of COCTEAU TWINS has done the same thing, uncoverable unique and of course beautiful...
as per the movie Gladiator: u see all the stupid violence of MANkind and in contrast to Lisa's singing its hard to see men as "superior": morally, socially, ethically or otherwise... sometimes i wonder why women put up with us AT ALL... maybe all become lesbians someday?
@glorp896 - "maybe all become lesbians someday?" Or even better -all humans become hermaphrodites to end discrimination against gay people once and for all.
@Aquariel gays overwhelmingly are predators versus the other way around, they have much higher crime rates, more mental disease without it being socially constructed... THE NATURE OF HOMOSEXUALITY, read that... gays are not the victims, heteros are... not to mention the enormous cost of AIDS that nicely has abated as it has dropped well out of the top ten killer list (CDC)... discrimination is code word for liberals protecting predators and criminals - inferiors... gays are inferior, more evil
@glorp896 - It is false that same sex people are predators or more evil. In reality, it's the opposite. Working in the court system in NYC proved that to me over and over again. I don't like any kind of bullying or bashing, and gay bashing is one of those hate crimes I simply can't stand. AC
@ShiftingReality same sex? u mean homos? u say its false but provide no empirical data, i gave u an exhaustively researched book with well over 2000 references, mostly peer review journal publications... your anecdotal experience is hardly scientific... prisons alone show the vast level of rape and number of homos disproportionate to their representation in the population, which is much lower than their nice well rounded arbitrary number of 10%... is it a hate crime when homo on hetero?
@ShiftingReality Although homosexuals account for less than two percent of the population. they constitute about a third of child molesters
- since homosexual pedophiles victimize far more children than do heterosexual pedophiles, it is estimated that approximately 80 percent or pedophile victims are boys who have been molested by adultmales, relative to the homo representation in the population this is a stunning stat...
@ShiftingReality The Gay Report, published by homosexual researchers Jay and Young in 1979, revealed that 73 percent of homosexuals surveyed had at some time had sex with boys 16 to 19 years of age or younger.5 (5. K. Jay and A. Young, The Gay Report (New York: Summit Books, 1979), p. 275. )
- i can get you more citations, but u have the great equalizer like me, GOOGLE
@ShiftingReality In a survey of 1,788 male inmates in Midwestern prisons by Prison Journal, about 21% claimed they had been coerced or pressured into sexual activity during their incarceration, and 7% claimed that they had been raped in their current facility - this is not because they somehow BECOME gay in prison, its because prisoners and criminals are disproportionately gay relative to their population in public...
The Kinsey study unwittingly exposes the level of homos in prisons...
@TheDeviant72 what would be interesting to you? got a hot topic? how can i DEbore you?
what have u done that was so awe inspiring and interesting? shall we compare notes to see who has lived more life? sports, disease, violence, protests, threats, lawsuits, bloodshed, art work, public expression, art cars, pepper spray, knife, gun, crowbar, drugs and a bunch of other neato fun controversial issues... whatdayagot?
on the side of one of my two art cars is: "DO NOT BORE ME!"
@AquarielCharm but maybe the PC lefty agenda will go that far some day and GENDER will be outlawed - so will sexual orientation as we find we must all have the same sex... the equalizer liars point in this direction, thus making laws against discrimination, which protects the inferiors and victimizes the superiors...
people should be able to keep out homos if they want - home owners associations, boy scouts, churches...
discriminate merely means to differentiate, we all know how diverse we are
