Criss Oliva is far better than Dimebag. FAR better.

Dimebag was great, but not the "god of metal", and for sure not the best player.

I think any notable player would admit it's hard to beat Randy Rhoads.

Dave Mustaine has done more for metal than other players and is far more creative than Dime!

Dave's rhythms are catchier and more impressive than most guys' leads and his lyrics and vocal melodies are awesome.

No one plays or sounds like Dime and he was good, but he wasn't THE best..

@mgdth502 Dave was good... but Megadeth is pretty much shit now. Oliva played a completely different style than Dime or Dave so there isn't much of a comparison. Dime however, with the rest of Pantera of course, took metal waaay beyond thrash and glam and showed the world how much power could be evoked from music.

As a self taught player he was banned from local guitar comps because he allready won them all before the age of 18. His KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) approach to playing was a breath of fresh air contrary to the "look what I can do" playing that was going on at the time...

His stuff is just fun to play and I really get off on his "anti technique"...sometimes the simple riff is the best for the song

the way you do it is just play notes, hammer on and pull off without picking and with your picking hand you lightly touch the strings while sliding it. its pretty easy to do on the low E string.
