  • Can this procedure be used on IGT's ??

  • I usually just fly through light rain.

  • Hey will this work on my 747?

  • i wanted to see a before and after shots

  • this guy's voice sounds like the same voice on either Cathay Pacific's, Emirates, or another airlines safety video from what i remember.

  • crap I lost my manual

  • ha ha PS3 = pressure static at station 3

  • We regulary do this on cfm 56-5 A/B on a320 familly aircraft.

But we use ardrox detergent with hot water to do this.

  • when i was collige i remember that i have red at GT book that the scientists reaches

    90% for the GT

  • Does that work on the GE90?

  • intersting that they install playstation 3s inside the engines. im so vandalizing a 737 now. wonder if they put xboxs in there.

  • just consult your aircraft manual. HA!

  • oh....i knew that....lol.....i just thought itd be some aviation term

  • lol ps3 > Total gas pressure @gas path station # 3

  • whats a ps3?.....Im a noob.....lol

  • playstation 3

  • haha

  • I bet that system costs more than a good car, and all it does is spray water into the engine, lol. Couldnt I just buy an adapter for my current pressure washer and use it on my a380?

  • How the heck do you dry motor you gas turbine.

  • do they accept paypal...?

I'm pretty scary, cus not so shure wat it said in the manual owner of my MIG27...(???)

  • I need one too, for my 777

  • I definitely need one of those for my 747. Yes. Where can i by it? (maybe i'll get 2 for the price of one..? :D

  • Nice...

  • 'please consult your aircraft manual'.... because ive got a plane stored in the garage. Anyway, wouldnt a manual for one of those things be like 1,000,000 pages long???

  • hehehehe... *laughing*

  • Do you have a Hawker (now BAe) Siddley Nimrod in your garage? :P

  • No, but it would be nice. But i think the neighbours would be a bit angry if i did. Could you imagine firing one of those up at 5am to set off for work???

  • Hehehe...Old aircraft, and yes it's noisy! xD

I can imagine it, but maybe not a good idea.

  • @NimrodMR4A there are a few consumers on the planet who do own their own personal jet craft. plus maintanence managers need to know this is out there to purchas for their terminals or @ least hire an outside contractor to perform what might be considered an essential function for their aircraft. remember john travolta a mere actor owns several large jet craft and parks them next to his home like mere cars.

  • boring............ that guy is just reading a manual

  • Didn't see any black water coming out the back. The example engine should have been a filthy one for visual effect.

  • thats what they clean it every so often so there isnt a build up :-)

  • finally... a way for me to clean the engines on my brand new Airbus A380!

  • AHAHAHAH!!! LOL! ;)

  • no im serious... i just got an A380... its sitting in the driveway!

  • I think you mean a toy model A380

  • no... i am so filthy rich i have my own A380... in fact me and my parents are about to get on and fly away to taipei and we are going to go celebrate thanksgiving on the top of the taipei 101

  • i just got a brand new GTE system and we used it yesterday in preparing my A380 for the journey to taipei... i can tell you know that this thing is stupidly simple and ultra effective!!!

  • Hmmm.....

And since when did Airbus sell commercial airliners to the general public? Err Never!

  • driveway? lol you mean a run way at an airport the a380 is a huge ass plane

  • ohhhhh... yeah you see i only own the plane... so its a runway... ahh, stupid airport people never understood me when i said id like my plane to be on driveway 16...

  • 16 years old and you own an A380? interesting.

  • yes it is interesting... you see i have a disease, and well i got make a wish foundation to give me one... ha ha ha just kidding.. we are still in the process of getting approved by make a wish :D

  • i know its funny who it tells you the directions as if you would do it yourself

  • im typing this from taipei and just wanted to tell you my A380 got me here beautifully... and we saved about 3 tonnes of fuel! because of our GTE system!

  • what does the Spar valve do? or PS3 line?

  • The PS3 line is closed for avoiding water entry in EEC system.

Than in cockpit the technician, pull the "ignition" brakers, than bring the fuel "control switche" in "run" position to open the "fuel valve" and the "spar valve".

  • Than pull the "spar valve" braker to let open the "spar valve" that allows to take fuel for lubrification, 'cause the fuel pump and the hydromechanical unit are fuel lubrificated. Finally, the "fuel control switch" is put back to "shut-off" position, closing the "fuel valve" avoiding, with the "ignition brakers" pulled too, the start-up of the engine during the motoring. Bye.

  • The PS3 line is a manufacturing line that makes Overpriced gaming systems.......:-B

    nah, i knew, i knew.

  • Ohhh so theres much easier way to clean my 737!!

  • lol

  • LMAO

  • i still remember the days when we used to scrub the turbine blades with an old toothbrush

  • lol, back in the day. i never did that XD. funny tho.

  • but it still costing the earth to run the turbines when they need cleaning -.-

  • The engine is only motored on the starter during cleaning. Engine is not running.

  • but because the water is present it soaks the CO2. but that water must not be dummped into the sea...

  • dry motoring means not using fuel to run the turbines. You can see clearly he turns the fuel cutoff switch to, Cutoff. they only use fuel to lube the system because the CFM (and probably many other engines) are fuel lubricated.

  • so how does the turbine move when he is cleaning it?

  • it's called electrics.

  • how is electric made?.... power station... what are power stations made out of... concrete... ( large amounts of CO2 there).... what do you need to make the power.... coal...gas....... uranium if its a nuclear power station, and if your like "omfg no liek wind power or hydro" then its like..... 5% of england is that... and america. and avout 70% oil and gas etc.

  • sigh.. okok ur an environmentalist.

  • no im not im 15 years old lol

  • ur also a noob

  • your also gay :)

  • the engine can be dry motored by the air from the pnumatic system. They are started by spinning them with air ducted from the APU. Has nothing to do with "electrics" whatever that was about. Hope that helps.

  • Yes this helps alot. I think ill buy one of these now..... hahaha

  • Thank you for the information :)

  • The turbine is moved by bleed air generated by the APU (Auxiliary Power Unit). It's a small turbine normally located in the tail cone of the airplane. This unit is used to generate electricity and bleed air to do the motoring for main engine startup.

  • electrical motor

  • only die HMU or on old CFM ENGINES on a 737-200/300/400 the MEC ist fuel lubricated, the engine itself is of course oil lubricated

  • HAHA

The narrator makes it sound as if this is something you can do at home. Hmmm.... Thats likely!

  • dude they only cost like a million dollar or more

  • cool I will do that tomorrow lol but where ??? who needs this kind of trainning?? hahahahaha

  • Cool just need to design jets to run on water and were laughing.

  • living and learning...

  • wow thats cool!

  • That is cool, dang, ya learn something new everyday

  • That is a pretty cool way to clean the turbines.
