  • @idektron I just love the way you hold your sticks, perfect from and such a display of chops, im sure you know all the PAS rudiments inside out. what a player if only I could be as good as you ... if only .......

  • @MADROCKS212 chops & PAS rudiments are for benders. 235k views vs 1.1k.. nuff said.

  • @MADROCKS212 you gotta poke around a bit more then..

  • awesome drum kit dude

  • that's a cool bass head were did you get one like that

  • I would like to speak to Tony Condon and Brother Reginald please?

    Regards,

    Sister Carmel

  • that rocked.

  • those drums are beautiful!

  • You have bad technique holding your sticks. That's how many drummers develop arthritis and elbow problems. It's almost like an off French grip sort of thing. I don't know. It's weird, that's for sure. Beautiful kit though.

  • holy grasicousness that looks sexy!

  • how much would you like for the kit?

  • how much would you like for the kit?

  • I would love to have a kit like that. So beautiful and with GREAT sound.

  • Lisa Mcloughlin

  • Heya Im Ione Day's Friend, You Awesome :)

  • Hiya ! ooo cool :)

  • The Big Red Fun Bus.

  • hey chadludwig you cok eyed fag go rub that chip off your shoulder you faggot dik

  • I wonder what Lisa Pentecost, Sharon 'Kipper' Girdwood, Matthew Crook and Alex Bird in Miracle world think of all this?

  • @mrfungus1000 'Kipper' would probably creme her pants and Alex Bird would probably get a spack-on.

  • And have a big orgy with Alex Big 'Log' Bishop and Sharon Mitchell followed by a game of Twister with Tony the Pea-dough and Mrs Tunstall.

  • nice comping. wicked kit an all

  • I cannot stand people who don't have a clue, I have worked for a living since I was 16 and every musical instrument I owned I bought myself with my own hard earned money. Hopefully one day you might get a grip in the real world. Loser.

  • What a beautiful kit,

    well done.

  • wow, beautiful kit and awsome playing man! now thats a vintage kit done right, jealous.. pro hardware, meticulus detail and a good drummer behind em :) keep it up man,

  • thank you.

  • "New exciting footage of the sensational Edward Day playing a late 60's Gretsch round badge set " SENSATIONAL??? the drums are but the player isnt.

  • charming. lets see a video of you playing better then ?

  • @MADROCKS212 Heard that...

  • lol at you madrocks...

    great drums dude!

  • That is such a cool finish. I would love to pick up a set like that, maybe different sizes though

  • The only way to become an extremely accomplished drummer is to get into jazz. After you've mastered jazz, then you can go back to rock.

  • progresive, latin, world rhythms specially Indians? only jazz? i mean jazz is good but not the best for me all genres has their "own touch" why some good jazz players are so dumb on rock? and some rockers are so dumb on playing latin or jazz, etc? i know rock is easy but to be good on something you must know something about all but get pro on some topic by the way if you like cumbias you must have an open mind and put all you effort into cumbias, just my thoughts, keep on drumming buddie

  • I'll ignore all the insults from the snot-nosed and just mention that the study of jazz teaches true four-way independence. If you don't have four-way independence you're just a beginner no matter how well you can play rock beats.

  • 100% agree with this statement too. Jazz should be made mandatory for all drummers to play. I've been playing for 13 years now. Not going to lie, I spend a lot of my time playing rock style beats mostly because i'm only 20. But if i hadn't studied jazz/independence for 7 years i'd be nowhere. In my opinion, Jazz gives drummers a better sense of creativity & tightness around the kit.

  • Sorry, those comments were in agreement with what jdtuckley said.

  • this is ignorant and dumb

  • It all comes back to jazz man =]

  • I agree 100% with this comment and have been trying to explain this to drummers for years. i hate just seeing the guys who just decide to buy a kit with double kicks right away.

  • @jdtuckley the first double bass-er was a jazz musician. done. Jazz started it all.

  • @jdtuckley that my friend is soooo dam true!

  • @jdtuckley check out George Rebelo from Hot Water Music. perfect example.

  • see even the mentally challenged can play drums

  • move with the times old man and things might not seem quite so negative for you...

  • wow you stay up all night to think of that one...lol

  • nah..lol

  • @65ludwig indeed..!!

  • pinky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Eddie! I have tried believe me! Also this nation existed long before white criminals were dumped here(some 60,000 years before) Oz is what you get when you group some of the most gentle and unassuming people on the planet with half-witted drunk criminals from england. There's nothing romantic about Australia It's one big rascist lie. Had a look at some more of your stuff, may have misjudged you. have you ever considered traditional grip? It may help because, like me, your lanky

  • can't counter anything in that ! glad to hear you have come round and touche we ruined your country with our simpleton drunks. yeah i do occasionally like to bust out the traditional grip here and there, brings out a 'certain freer feel' to playing and i like the roundabout nature of it. yep your right also, being 6ft 4 and lank can lend itself to a more angled grip..

  • This thoughtless stoned hippie drumming does nothing for me. You have been playing the Djembe on acid for too long whack jedi! Such crap! Try thinking about a beat(your heart is not where your feelings come from) or keep flam bamming to the end of the zombie rainbow if you like, whatever, you sure did fool a lot of idiots here. Escape from Commune Island! I can smell the insentient energy! look your alright I WOKE ON THE WRONG SIDE OF A NEW AGE ELEPHANT fu9ckshhiihhipo;ikb!!!!!

  • bender. good job your from a nation derived from criminals. escape from that !

  • not bad, keep practising!!

  • Great Kit !!!!.

  • Where does Edward Day get all his many kits?

  • he sources them from secret places !

  • I like your style.

  • is that an original wrap? very nice...

  • yep

  • great playin great kit nice set up

  • Nice grooves! Great sounding kit as well! Been thinking aout getting a Gretsch for a while now.

  • Love when you finally gave the release of going to the snare on 2 and 4 at 1:35. Good stuff.

  • great kit and playing

  • wow! i am in love with the tone you are getting from these drums. i love gretsch always have always will and this video proves why. even after 40 some years they hold there tone and sustain.

  • HI Edward, this kit is a true beauty and is a very, very rare moonglow that is a real round badge set, it would have gromet holes if it had any other badges fitted and you cant buy this colour now. It does my head in on You Tube people who mock you and other drummers,it seems that everyones amazing from behind the computer,i hate jealous people, nice kit and great playing.

  • hi, thanks for the kind words and good to hear there is people who can see things for what they are and not some fool who tries to run b4 he can walk... there is always one !

  • Good job! excellent, I love that kit! Genuine vintage gretsch!

  • ummm.. clearly just proved yourself a total idiot. all 3 gretsch drums here have round badges not 70's square stop sign badges. i know from the serial numbers on the paper labels they are late 60's and from the badge. bass drum lost its hoops years ago, so non original, plenty of round badges didn't have rail mounts and center mounts. the bass is 20" not 18". so before you go spouting off like a muppet, get your facts right !

  • nicely put. you know your stuff. i could really learn from you.(not sarcasm)

  • ahh what a fool you are

  • Grestch did not only make one kit with round badges. They change badges about every ten years, so congratulations on having an old drum kit, but this is one too.

  • Not knocking your playing. It's not bad. Just curious...why the "sensational" in front of your name? Seriously not dogging you. Just wondering why you would do this. Do you view yourself as "sensational" or is this some EPK piece? I've seen some of your other stuff and it's not terrible, but not sure it qualifies as "sensational". My playing isn't "sensational" either. It just struck me as ... I don't really know what to say. I guess ... narcissistic. Whatever your reason...nice kit.

  • lets just say sarcasm is rife !

  • damn that colours awesome! great vintage tom sounds too! and in response to all the company baiting going on, who cares??? go for what YOU think sounds good! heck, even a mix of different companies' drums can sound sick (if it works for different cymbal series and companies, why not drums?)

  • bang on !

  • get bent !

  • RETARD ALERT

  • i definetely love my gretsch club mod ... way better than pearl in my taste ;)

    cheers

  • i got a silly question that i would love someone to answer. I am looking for a new drum set and i was wondering if gretch is a respected drum company? or should i just go with pearl?

  • Gretsch is a great drum company... Their lower end stuff is very good, as is their high end stuff, but it depends on what you like better,,, You should probably just find a drum store that allows you play on the kits to decide which you prefer...

  • yeah that's the best advice really just try one in a shop and see if you like it, i personally only ever played their older stuff and quite simply their my fave !

  • well the problem is all the drum stores around me dont know jack about drums and there sets are not tuned and well yea... you get it

  • the problem is, that you live in a fu%Ked up place and don't know shit about drums, if you have to ask if Gretsch is a respectable company. Of course it is...dumb ass! And, you don't even know how to spell it!

Stick to the skin flute dude.

  • the problem is, some people don't have a good word to say and have no thoughts for people starting out. hardly makes him a dumb ass ! And you don't even know how to spell it, its that you live in fucked up place not fu%Ked..

  • I'll tell you, Pearl is garbage. Gretsch really OWNS. Look for a Renown Maple. Look up my channel for a preview.

  • dude if you have to ask a question like that, don't play anything.

  • shut the hell up ass hole.

  • yeah ass hole leave pineapplesex alone..

  • Comment removed

  • cymbols are very nice but I like the sound out of those toms even better. Amazing, what heads are you using on them?

  • thanks. i have coated ambassadors on the top top and clears on the bottom.

  • this sounds like somthing that could be played at the biggining of violence by blink 182

  • mysle f i have a 1973 gretsch drum with all these huge pieces, u know back in the days!

and i have a lugwig snare from the 70's

what kit are you riding there???

  • yeah i've always fancied a big sized 70's gretsch, this one is a 60's roundbadge in 20,12,16.

  • i guess its the audio on the cam or something, maybe not..but god that crash has the most beautiful tone ever and i love how it just takes its time to fade gotta love big cymbals

    nice playing as well

  • thanks, yeah it is like that in real life i went through quite a lot of cymbals before i found that one for the attributes you describe ! i dont let it out the house.. i found modern zildjian k's can be hit and miss but that one is a cymbal for life !

  • awesome! what cymbals is he using and how big are they?

  • the ride is a 22" k custom dry complex thin and the crash is a 18" k custom dark.

  • I like your playing dude. I appreciate the fact that you don't feel the need to prove anything with speed. It's all about style and musicality. Nice work. Like the set too!

  • Love your style mate, really nice play'n ;)

  • beautiful......nice with the snares throw thrown off....

can't see name, but I LOVE the sound of these cymbals. (crappy vid-mic aside) they have a great wash and long decay.

  • i love the kit and solo.. how much did the kit cost??

  • thanks. the three gretsch drums were about £800 a few years ago

  • where are you getting all these pristine vintage kits?

  • hi the rogers i imported from the US and the gretsch i got off english ebay, sadly neither are truly pristine..

  • Three words for ya bud....NICE FREAKIN SET!!! oh yeah good playin too!.....

  • Nice set, you suck big time!!!

  • Why would you reply that to to me you fuckin tard....

  • Oh, and suppose you're better? Haha, sorry, that's already answered, by the fact that you have no eye for good technique. Just because there's no retard bashing double-pedals doesn't mean it's bad.

  • hey man, nice sound, love your snare tone, sounds alot like bonham, what snare are you using?

  • hi yeah thanks its a dw 14"x6" maple snare.

  • thanks, keep drumming!!

  • you are really gay...

  • Get a life mate I bet this guy can kick your ass on the drums

  • cheers boris, yeah skateforlife is a total goon !

  • Where did you pick that beauty up?

  • she came from the illustrious ebay about 4 years ago. really want a 14x14 for her..

  • haha well its not the 60's ne more so whats with the old kit?

the bandanna keeps the hair out my face douche:P

  • Go look up how much an original Gretsch Round Badge kit would cost you.

  • yeah i know right around 1,500 ...i wasn't talking bad about the kit bro! just saying its old skewl ...

  • true, but 60's gretsch drums timeless; 80's bandannas should of never been invented ! just cut your hair or tie it back !

  • ok to be honest! i only put the first comment on their cause i dislike slow drums beats ...ima big underground metal fan!

  • ok fair dues but 'underground metal' isn't necessarily fast.. check out khanate

  • fuck people,he's not that good ...way to many rim shots, lazy hand sindrome?

  • coming from a man wearing a bandanna, that says it all, its not 1988 anymore !

  • unbelievablely good!!

love it!. um just wondering what type of snare

    is that?

    cheers

  • thanks, its a dw 14x6 maple snare.

  • Moonglow Satin Flame!..Very hard to find finish!

  • Hey kid...gimme your set right now

  • Good work. How did you get the snare wires to buzz? It sound awesome.

  • thanks, well noticed, i have the batter skin low to medium tension, the lower skin medium tension and the snares themselves cranked real tight !

  • I saw a gretsch kit with this finish in a little independent music store about 15 years ago for $200. I totally blew it by not buying it! you're an excellent drummer with nice gear, ed.

  • cool you cant beat a satin flame finish !

  • The dw sound and the gretsch sound are poles apart .They are both different

  • keyhead101 says: "dude, my sunlite kit blows everything else away! ha ha!" :)

  • keyhead totally hasn't got a clue !

  • Excellence.

  • I have a gretsch catilina set sounds good but not like yours. Dude your going somwere!

  • Wow, this guy is amazing! Your amazing! I can play fairly well myself, but i cant do sticking like this... The videos ive posted are all from stuff ive done with crappy drum parts... songs and sutch, but im a lot better than i appear in my videos...

  • thank you most appreciated them lizards !

  • Awesome kit!

  • i have watched this video...

    so many times..

my jaw is still on the floor.

    so awesome.

  • ooo cool. good to hear. been thinking about doing some more videos with my other drums...
