This gave the Republicans the edge, especially since they were not in the majority that year. Plus, the number of Southern Republicans in the House and Senate voted 0-10 and 0-1. So, in the region of the country that was more anti-black, Democrats voted in favor of the act, and ZERO Republicans supported it.

So, again, a higher percentage of Democrats in separate chambers of congress voted in favor of the act in that region, and this was a drastically less anti-black part of the country. These are just interesting statistics to keep in mind on the subject.

Where was Nancy Pelosi when all this torture was being authorized? What is President Barack Obama doing to the national debt now? They may believe in "the first eight amendments," which is a good thing. But what about the ninth and tenth amendments? Don't fall into the paradigm that if you think Republicans are unacceptable that you have to vote Democrat. You could vote Libertarian. Same thing the other way around.

There was no connection between 9/11 and Iraq. Saddam Hussein did not have nuclear weapons. He only had biological and chemical weapons that WE GAVE HIM in the 80's to combat Iran. The United States sanctions during the 90's killed several hundred thousand Iraqi children, which was under the supervision of a Democrat president. Things are never so black and white.

I'm not sure what to say about the biological weapons, I'm not about to let one video set in stone my opinion whether or not it is fact. It doesn't make sense to me that the US would sell them, considering the USE of them is internationally illegal, but then again, our govt does plenty that's illegal and doesnt make sense, so i'll retract my prev. statement.
As far as the Iraq/911 vid you posted, -it hardly shows that repubs linked Iraq with 9/11. It wasnt used as an excuse to attack Iraq.

I, of course, do not support abortion. (I think, while a horrible one, it is the woman's choice.) However, abortion has been occurring for a very long time, with both Republicans and Democrats in power. Just because the Democrats have majority in the government does not mean that abortion rates will sky-rocket.

Yzerman, the poor are still treated here. If someone needs a hospital, then they can not be rejected. Not socialist, but they still get care. Our government (at this time) does not pay for health insurance unless you are a state worker, but businesses pay for employees healthcare. Someone at ACME who makes $7.15/hr will get healthcare. As long as you have a job and pay taxes you should get healthcare. Our problem here is too many people leech of the federal government
