Ok first, drop D on the first string, and the bottem 2 strings are different, your tuning should be D,A,D,G,A,D. By doing this you should be able to tell right away that is the correct tuning for this song. then just find a lesson or do what i did, listen to the song enough watch Andy McKee's Drifting video. ... and from a guy have played guitar for 8 years in a professional setting, i can blatantly say without hesitation or resentment... you're an idiot, pardon by if you notice the tempo is not the same as the original, and audio and video timing are off by a fraction of a second at times due to LATENCY as a result of the quality of the sensor in the camera being used. so don't be a douche, give credit to those try hard and deserve it... this guy did his own rendition and it was phenomenal! 5*

i havent tried; however yes i think i would be able to, given an AMPLE amount of time of course lol... because no doubt you're on the money when you say it will be insanely hard to play. Insanely hard for the average guitarist, or me merely because i don't usually incorporate tapping into my style... if you do, it wouldnt be nearly as hard as you imagine... the hard part would be transcribing the sheet music from the original video by Andy McKee. =)

great cover, but don't forget to alternate between slapping the front of the guitar and the side when you play the first verse, like you did in the intro. also in the first verse, some of the notes are actually strums (watch mckee's hand, every once in a while he strums all three first strings). it adds a lot to the melody. there are a few other differences between the way you play and the way mckee does it. i think i nailed the technique in my cover, but yours still sounds way better. rock on!!

slapping on the 12th fret will produce the harmonic...or any of the harmonic frets...3 5 7 9 12 15....with a little practice its pretty easy

Same notes, but you're playing it in a much more difficult way then Andy does. You still play it really well (Though a little softly), but some parts could sound a little better if played the way Andy does. Good cover none the less, and very good technique.
