This gets better every time I watch it. You have to make a few more, Pete. Definitely the top video on youtube right now. Multiple thumbs up from this guy
This is funny shit. If you're not from Cape Breton, you may not see the humor as much but Jesus, Mary and Joseph you should see some humor in it it for fek sakes.
American here too, who is obsessed with the goddamn Nintendo and the Face Page! I suddenly started to understand everything they were saying after three minutes. On second viewing, I understood all of it. Hilarious! I know way too many guys like Dougal.
This video's humor is lost on me, but that's only because I'm an ignorant American. Does eastern Canada have a lot of descendents of Irish/Scottish immigrants like New England does?
@sillygramcracker Depends where you go, generally more scottish. Cape Breton is an island in Nova Scotia that is deeply Scottish. My family is from where this fellow is from and though the accents aren't like that with the younger people all of the older people sound just like that. The accents in that part of the province are heavily influenced and descended from the Scottish. For example, my grandmother spoke Gaelic growing up, and my G-Grandmother didn't speak English.
@sillygramcracker Newfoundland generally is more descended from Irish settlers and even though the accent is unique, a lot of Irish folks say Newfoundlanders sound like older generation Irish. Parts of Cape Breton that had more Irish settlers sound less like the guy in the video here and more like Newfoundlanders. It's a slight difference you might not notice unless you're from here, but if you can spot it it's very noticeable.
'for a big girl she was pretty light on her feet"......classic.....I've actually heard it a couple times at the South Southwest Northeast Due West dance....

Sounds like they're putting on some fake Irish accent or something, I'd rather here some boys from the mines or new wattaferd.
