  • Looks fancy and all, but I think it would be incredibly uncomfortable to sit with all that stuff

  • what kind of belt is that Sootch?

  • Bought a pair of these based on this review and others, thankyou. I got them as general use / travel, the quality and practicality of them are great and as travel pants they have a durability better than ordinary travel brands. They dry pretty fast too when just hung to air dry.

  • Bloody hell, those pants are like Aladdin's cave, no the tardice from doctor who! Looked perfectly fitted and just stuff out of every pocket! A flash light and a leatherman in

One pocket looooooool great video! Just ordered them, very impressed ! Good job

  • where is your ccw??

  • what kind of belt is that?

  • "Ladies, calm yourselves" Lol that was funnny.

  • Very informative review! I am going to sub to your channel. I like the sweater. whats the info on it? also I would sub twice if I could because im impressed with how you ended the video. God bless America and long live the republic! Awesome! I look forward to watching all your videos.

  • Good review, thanks for the feedback dude, makes it so much easier for us prospective buyers. Have seen a lot of positive reviews of these 511s which is encouraging.

  • Nice video. I wear a 5.11 covert vest almost everywhere I go. Been debating on getting a few pairs of these to go with it.

  • What color is this?

  • Was really hesitant to buy tac pants online because of so many complaints that they weren't sized like blue jeans are. After this vid and some of your other commenter's responses, I've decided these would be a good fit for what I need. Thanks so much for the great review vid!

  • "Ladies calm yourselves." LOL! Great review.

  • i love how nutnfancy is the reference point for EVERYBODY i remember he wasnt popular lol. good to c that not everybody just takes his word for gospel.

  • I also wear these pants everyday for work. They are great to hold my flashlight, edc knife, and multitool. Many pockets come in handy and they are very comfortable

  • I wear these every day, my pants are black or dark blue. I sure like them

  • the only thing that i dont like about these pants is how the front pockets are set up so tht when u have a knife clipped in them they r angled and dont sit stright, i just clip my knife in the back pocket to get rid of this

  • like those outtakes :). makes it funny and credible

  • Cool video! Thanks!

  • Great video, thanks!

  • my wife walks to the room at 6:18....and about 6:27 she asking me what you watching who is this guy?

  • haha whats with all the croch shots sootch?? hahaha fillen out those pants nice ehh? hahaha nice vid man

  • One Hank Hill's favorites.

    ProPants and ProPants accessories.

  • im sure youve had this said to you before but you should try a gool old fashon pair of carharts :)

  • I bought some of these paints after watching Nutnfancy's review. The pocket arrangement doesn't work for me and neither does the material. The material is noisy when moving. Eotac pants worked much better for me.

  • These are GREAT pants. Great for day-to-day "whatever", I have several pair and love them.

  • I have a couple of these. Use them to compete in ipsc. Comfortable, easy to clean.

  • Sootch you're such a great salesman lol you could sell sand in a desert!

  • Sootch... I'm a believer in buying American products. I researched these 5.11 pants and see that they are imported. Are you able to get your hands on and Propper tactical pants for a comparison? Do you know of any other brands made here?

  • Hey, Sootch.. cool looking shirt / sweater you're wearing, tell us about it.

    Bob

  • I have 8 pairs of these. I need more hahaha

  • Wow when you pulled that flashlight out and the multitool...I thought about naming them Mary Poppins Pants :)

  • Bought a pair of these a while ago, and after some time, i definitely prefer the "tru-spec 24-7" pants. The knife pocket is less conspicuous, the reinforced area for it is larger, the cargo pockets are better designed, etc. I dont want to go on too long, but if youre considering getting these, look into those first. I prefer them in every way, and theyre cheaper. The 511 are fine, but just not as good imo.

  • Had them for a couple months and washed them twice huh?? haha j/k dude. Love the vids! keep them coming.

  • I started this video thinking, they are just pants....what's the big deal? Only after 3 minutes you have me sold!!

  • I had that same cell phone. thing took a beating in my former outdoor job. I wish they could make 'em all that durable.

  • I feel weird looking at a guy's butt on the internet.

  • Great review Sootch! Appreciate it as always.

BTW, what is your favorite camo (i.e. multicam, acu, wood, etc)? Also who makes the better camo shirt and pants in your opinion?

  • Hey, Sootch! Question about the waistband: Is it elastic, or non-elastic? Thanks for all your work!

  • Well at first I was like.... "tactical pants, thats just crazy!" Then when I heard that the crotch was re-inforced I had to have them. It's really hard to find a good re-inforced crotch on a pair of pants now-a-days.

  • i went to old navy the other day and they had some really nice cargo pants with lots of pockets. funny thing is i only paid 18 dollars per pair. i have a pair of od green ripstop cargo pants made by dickies, paid just 20 bucks, lots of pockets. spend your money on stuff you will need, not the newest coolest expensive clothes. i have some of those and they are nice, dont cost alot either. just stay away from 40-100 dollar tactical pants, its all just hype. love the vid sootch.

  • OMG, got a little worried around 6:17....lol!

  • These pants look pretty nice. I was just wondering how the fit runs? Are they sized large or small?

  • @guns4good They are sized like regular pants by waist and inseam. I ordered mine as I would any pants and they fit great. Thanks Bro~ Sootch00

  • That is not a drag strap . It will break. These pant were originally developed by a company called Royal Robbins as a rock climbers pant. The slash pocket were for climbers to have easy access to gloves and powder bags in there back pockets while climbing . The strap in the back was made to hold numerous carabiners . The Royal Robin company sold out to 5.11 company in the early 2000's. Propper makes a similar pant with better packet placement for far less and its made in the US.

  • @shtfighter correction or more info - the company didn't sell out it was a spin off company from Royal Robbins. Thanx again and God Bless.

  • Good review D.... I purchased some BlackHawk I.T.S (internal tourniquet system) pants and they are just great. I think the 5.11 pants are better but either way you can't go wrong. They are selling the I.T.S pants on LAPolcieGear, I got mine for under 15 bucks and they are like 90 dollar pants lol.

  • WOOOHOOOO nice ass Sootch!!!! haha great reveiw

  • Have 6 pairs of these myself. Great for the summer as well as the winter since they keep you cool in the summer but also very comfortable to wear in the winter months. I use them for duty...LEO here.

  • Cool pants!

  • 11 minute video about a pair of pants with a lot of pockets :P Jk, i really like the vid

  • @MarchingBlueNGold You know me, long winded! Lol! You should have seen it before I edited. Thanks Bro~ Sootch00

  • @MarchingBlueNGold i think nutnfancy could make it a 3 part series of 11 minute videos. Not that I'm complaining, I watch all his videos too!

  • I have a couple pairs of 5.11 Tac pants. Absolutely love them, they have been through a lot and have held up really well! Highly recommended!

  • Very much enjoy your reviews and appreciate your work. The "handle" on the pants, however, is actually (I am almost certain) not a true handle, but rather a handgun retention strap. Could perhaps be used to drag, though.

  • Been wearing these for two years and love them!

  • The gusseted crotch is one of the best feature on these pants. I own about 8 pair of these pants, plus some of the other versions of 5.11 pants.

  • Maybe someone who ownes these pants could tell me what the leg fit is ? Im crazy picky on the pants not being to tight, or to baggy...how do these pants fit around the shoes/boots (tight, loose)? If anyone has the awnsers give me a shout, thanks.

  • I got a pair of nice climbing pants with straps and velcro and pockets held with buttons, featured in my BDU video they were only 12 bucks at tjmaxx. tjmaxx is a great store.

  • I have got to stop procrastinating and do the vids that are on my mind right away. Every time I take a day off, there you are reviewing the stuff that I was going to do. I have 4 pairs of the 511 TacLite Pro's. Got them at uscav.com where if you bought 3, the 4th one was free. So now i'm loaded with them and I love 'em. Tons of room, but doesn't feel like you're bogged down. Must be the way I balance the gear on me. Super vid, sootch, and take care.

  • Love my TacLite Pro's!! But I do wise Maxpedition would have stated that the EDC Pocket Organizer doesn't fit in the cargo pockets of these pants. Great Pant, Great Bag, not great togather. Another get vid Sootch00!

  • sooooooooootch!!!!! i live in alaska! i fish in these i hunt in these i play rough in these and i have had mine for a year and BY FAR THE BEST pants i ve ever worn..great reveiw god bless and long live the republic

  • Great review Sootch----Good point about blending in during a wrol scenario...Never thought about that before...I've been making the majority of my USGI surplus purchases at gunnyssurplus . c o m---I dont know the owner of the site-and I dont make anything from commission---not trying to be a salesman here--Just trying to help the patriots find good buys...Best prices I've found on surplus goods...Sootch--I love your channel and reviews--But I must say--I think your Nutnfancy's biggest fan...LOL

  • if i was in Holland Michigan i bought it

  • I like the vest + 5.11 pants. I won 2 Taclite pants and other 5.11 gear for free! Lucky me!

  • Shipping is expensive but found one place which might stock em here. Can't wait to get a pair!

  • Wearing mine right now :D

For knife carry, I prefer my back right slash pocket. Seems to be a more natural movement bring it out. I also carry a Leatherman Charge ALX (black one) on the left rear side typically.

  • Wearing mine right now :D

  • nice britches son

  • Just bought the Maglite XL50, now I have to get these pants to carry it! LOL

  • I have several pairs of both the 5.11 originals and LAPG operator pants. I prefer the 5.11 originals during winter. They are thicker and more rigid than the LAPG's. The only complaint I have is that one out of the 6 pairs I have, the cell phone pocket on the front was cut smaller and you have to fight to get the phone out of it.

  • Would you feel comfortable wearing these hiking since they have a mix of cotton in them?

  • Excellent review

  • The belt is cool too.

  • Great review! Love my tac-lite pros also.

  • Good stuff Sootch...i bought my first pair after watching Nutn's review i love mine.I actually need to pick up a few more pairs

  • No Gun ??? slipping sootch00 LOL

  • got a price point on those

  • I was literally starting to film a review on my TacLite Pros last night. You beat me to it Sootch haha. Not sure if I will finish editing it, there isnt much of a point anymore :P

  • @usmcboyer Hey Bro, the more reviews and perspectives the better. Please finish the review and make iit a response to mine. I personally like to watch as many reviews as possible when looking to buy something. Thank you my friend~ Sootch00

  • @sootch00 Sounds good friend. Will have it done in the next couple days, along with a M870 review and Interceptor Flak Jacket review!

  • @usmcboyer Sootch hit the nail on the head. More reviews = more data points for potential buyers. The more informed you are, the better a consumer it makes you. Do the review! lol

  • That's some fancy pair of pants you got there, partner :-)

  • Those are very nice pants, I have several pair. They are a little expensive but I got mine when 5.11 ran a deal on the pants. Good review and good tips on stuff to carry.

  • I bought the same pants but they are not the "lite" version. They're pretty thick so they are great when it's cold. They feel very durable. The only thing I don't like is that my wallet sits low in the back pocket. So when I'm sitting down, my wallet is in a very uncomfortable position under my leg. Other than that, I love them.

  • Great review, Sootch.

Wearing the "survival kit" every day now since purchased.

Only thing I'm concerned, how they should be worn properly, how high should the belt line be, cause they have a high rise, ya' kno'.

  • Pricey pants though.know any great deals?

  • was that a little Liberachi at the end? Nice britches. Look really well made.

Sootch, I have a question for you to ponder over. We hear about how many guns folk have. Thinking about the different calibers. Is there such a thing as to many different cals. in ones collection? Say you have 5 rifles that don't use the some ammo vs 2 rifles at .223, 2 12gauge and a long range rifle.

    Sorry for going off topic

  • @pigwigpa I have a number of calibers, but I keep it down to the most popular. For one, common ammo is usually less expensive and two, it's more avaliable. Military cailbers are the most plentiful and in a WROL would also be most avaliable. All of my guns are narrowing down to usefulness. Unless I just love the specific gun or it's an hierloom, it has a specific purpose or I trade for one the does. I have multiple AR-15's for the above reasons. My shotguns are 12 gauge. Thanks ~ Sootch00

  • @sootch00 Thanks for the insight. Before I even look at a new fire arm. The first thing I check to ammo. Most of the my rifles are Russian. So, the ammo I buy is in surplus bulk.

  • yup, i have a pair and love them. i love how many pockets there are and how purposeful - i use the pockets to hold things differently but they work just great either way. and mine were 30 bucks at the surplus/military retail store they work great for blending in. only a friend in the Corps (i'm at A&M) thought it was uniform related, everyone else thought "hey, nice cargo pants"

  • I've got about 11 pairs of 511 pants.. haha.. I actually wear them every day. I wear the 511 originals, about 19 bucks a pair, and they've got rear mag pockets. Awesome pants. I'll have to check these ones out too.. thanks for sharing. -noBuzzkillin

  • @noBuzzkillin You should do a review on the 511 originals

  • @fritz2525 I've been meaning too.. maybe it's time to get to it.. I've certainly got enough hours clocked in them now.

  • I have the pants they are awesome very rugged!!

  • These are the maxpedition of pants ;)

  • I bet your wife loves checking the pockets on these bad boys when laundry day comes around.

  • yeah good pants are incredibly useful

  • I got 2 pairs of these pants for Christmas. Love 'em.

  • My friend and I both have a few pair of these pants. While at the range he will use that "grab handle" as a holster for his "unloaded" gun when he is shooting a different pistol. That way he can transition back and forth between gun. Might sound reckless but he is very safe. Love these pants!

  • I have these and I love them. The rear pockets are very large and you have more than enough space. Accidentally spilled water on them and it just fell of like it said it would. ONLY problem I've found wearing them is opening the rear pant pockets in a hurry because they're very heavy duty velcro. Which is annoying at first but you get into it. Best pair of pants ive ever owned. Shoveled in a foot of snow with these on over some fleece pants and they never got soaked.

  • What kind of shirt is that? I have heard that style of shirt with the front shoulder padding called a "commando sweater" before, but I don't know if that is the common name or where the original design came from. I have also seen them without the shoulder straps, I think.

  • Those back pockets are the lamest looking things i have ever seen. They need to be more stylish in order to be concealable tactical pants or else you just stick out like a sore thumb just like the one undercover cop in the college bar who always is wearing cloths like this and thinks they are blending in when it actually is more noticeable. Look into "mountain kakis" for a more tradition look but with twice the durability ... they are just stupid expensive at $60 a pop

  • @trenttyre I got mine for 30$

  • @MindBullets2142 then you got a sweet deal! I haven't seen them for under $50 unless you got a discontinued pair on sale

  • @trenttyre lol well I guess I got lucky.

  • I'd like to see the look on the nurse's face at the doctor's office when you start unloading all that stuff from those pants before getting on the scale.

  • Comment removed

  • These are great pants. I've had three pairs for over 2 years and still looks brand new. Very durable and comfortable at the same time. Great review on these pants Sootch!

  • Great pants! I truly need to pick up a few pairs. Thanks for the vid and the OutTakes Are Always hilarious.. Keep em coming Sootch00

  • Great review sir!

  • Do they have Multicam?

  • I also bought a pair of these taclite pro pants after seeing nutn's review. I have been extremely pleased with them !

  • Great pants, Nutn' sold me on them awhile ago. I have five pairs and wear them year round, but not sure if they are shrinking or my waist is growing lol I will definitely check out that website to get sized up! :)

  • the knees aren't just reinforced, those are open top pockets inside that take thin knee protectors.

  • I like to keep a pair of Mexicans in my Taclite pockets in case I find myself in a situation where I need a little extra labor.

  • @ODgr33n lmao ahahahah!

  • love the out takes at the end sootch good channel i have a few pairs my self

    peace from up north

  • They sound loud in the video. Do they make a lot of noise when you move or walk?

  • Have 2 pair...love 'em!

  • The downside to 5.11 clothing comes from those "in the know". For these people, whether career criminals, law enforcement, military, or civilian gun culture, can pick these pants out of a crowd of people. I do it all the time! After watching the wearer long enough I can usually tell where they are carrying their concealed firearm too. These are not 100% gray man clothing, however, they are more "gray" than camo.

  • I love my pair. very comfortable and plenty of pockets. Goes great with my 511 nylon belt. I keep a magazine for my SIG in that small velcro pocket on the left when I carry.

  • The pants don't have knee pads...they have knee pad insterts. So you have to order the knee pads seperate. There is a little slot on the inside of the pants where the knee pads are insterted.

  • Foreign made Buy American!

  • Good stuff, dudeness. I've got a couple pairs myself. Thanks for the review.

  • i have 4 of them

  • Also what belt is that?

  • @Demicron take the time to actually watch the video and you will know.

  • @SurvivalRevolution at what point does he mention what it is? because when I made the comment at 6:10 of the video he did no mention the name. Anything else you wanna add?

  • @Demicron Well at 3:50 he says it. "Anything else you wanna add?" hahha eat your words.

  • @Demicron I'd feel stupid if I were you...

  • @SurvivalRevolution Ur the idiot troll arguing over someone else's videos hahaha mind your business no one asked you anything :)

  • @Demicron Yup, you got me. I'm a idiot troll. Well this idiot troll just schooled you. It's alright I understand your mad your made yourself look dumb saying he never said what the belt was and you watched all the way to 6:10 but I clearly pointed it out to you at 3:50. And I'm not arguing, I simply told you to watch the whole video, but your too ignorant and always have to be right. End of story.

  • @SurvivalRevolution hahahah you tell him!

  • @Demicron US Grunt Gear's Contractor's Belt. I have a review of it with the Infidel Belt. Thanks Bro~

  • Nice pants go well with that Mercedes hehehe

  • I've had my TacLite Pro's for about a year now...love em!
