  • There was always something about Smokey that set him apart. He was deeper. His lyrics were almost 3 dimensional and when you mix in the instrumentation. When he sang of love he made you say amen.

  • Great song written by a great song writer and great singer. Go 'head Smokey.

  • The Funk Brothers are at their best here, but it's like Smokey fine tuned everything before he went to work. There seem to be notes and sounds that no one else had. It's just great music.

  • One of the best songs Smokey made

  • @endless441 Maybe...he's a born-again Christian now..if you listen to his music, you can tell God always had His hand on him..

  • he is a rare treat. wrote so much good music. backstage in 10 minutes he wrote my girl, handed it to the temps, they went out & did it. he said there was no way he was going to tell the temps how to treat it. he was right, they did a great job.

  • I was taking pictures circa 1978 at the Circle Star Theater in San Carlos, CA. Smokey called me in my bad white suit up on stage and I got to pick a song and dance with the back up singer. I chose, "I second that emotion." My ex-girlfriend Maria freaked out as she was a tad insecure. We went to a party with the Floaters, the opening act, afterwards.

  • The love is saw in you was just a mirage..........Manny

  • One of my faves by Smokey- As in all his songs, the lyrics are special.

  • What CanI Say.......Motown Soul

  • I can't never get tired of this classic.

  • Bob Dylan corrected himself with this comment about "Smokey". He said he meant to say Alan Ginsberg. Bob was a "Bohemian" at the time. He smoked a lot of "Dope" during this period in his life

  • One of my favorite Miracles tunes...Love the Marvin Tarplin guitar part in particular...AMAZING GUITARIST!!!...So underrated, by everyone except Smokey, who called Marv his favorite collaborator!

Only trouble with this song is it's to short... I keep wanting more

  • "Just a minute ago your love was here all of a sudden it seem to disappear." This happens when love fades!!

  • @toicannon True. And when you`re young, the pain is immense when you still the love the other

  • @1994g0 Yes when you are young it really, really hurts because you don't know how to handler hearbreak!!!

  • @toicannon Isn`t it interesting how, as you get older, romantic love seems less and less important. But in your youth, it`s everything.Another great song on this subject is "Fading Away" by The Temptations.

  • @1994g0 Can you let me know at which age it becomes less important?:P Im still waiting.

  • @ChillMB About age 4o.And you begin to see how powerful money is with women.get rich and you`ll never be lonely for women again.Never
