JF just copied the sound from early Elvis, The Beatles, Carl Perkins, etc. He added a unique lead guitar and vocals & wrote a dozen good tunes. He won't replicate the guitar sound & long ago lost the voice. The "wall of guitar sound" theory is bullshit. If you have 20 pickers onstage and bury them in the mix when they are needed it is idiocy. He won't allow proper fills on most songs and goes into pathetic Eddie Van Fogerty showboating most 11 year old punks can do better. If you are 10, dig it.
Good stuff but these are the 70s chord changes (1-4-5) Rather than the Everly's changes (5-1-4) which are muuuuch cooler... I think John would gone that direction if he'd had a copy of the original around to study. Man can he sing or what?!?!?
Yes the 50s version of this song goes (5-1-4) (E-A-D) ... so innovative and cool. That's why I bother mentioning it. The Linda Ronstadt band made the same error you did... they figured is "must be" the old blues changes. I want the world to know that Phil Everly was an innovetor with the chord changes in '57. I'm an Everly fan, you know, sue me. lol. We all understand being fans of great rock n roll. You gotta hear the original. 5-1-4 really teases the chorus - it was a brave move.
Great video! This song rocks! In a few days I'll have my album too, then I'll listen ton it 24/7 ;-) Rock on John, u are amazing!!!! BRR1 is my favourite album ever, hope BRRRa will make me as happy as the first one. I wish u make more of stuff like BRR. THE RANGERS ROCK!!!!
interesting guitar he's playing! That's a metal shred guitar.. haha I own a black one just like it. It's a John Petrucci Signature Musicman. Petrucci plays very heavy music for the band Dream Theater. Strange!
Good eye. I noticed that as well after getting a good look at the first fret and the inlay. Notice he changed the pick ups as well and he's not using the trem arm. They play nice and I want to get one. My Jem is awesome but I do love the ernie ball music man axis or the JP. Just gotta get one as I bet they play really nice. GOOD EYE AGAIN MAN!!
Get a JP with Piezo. Absolutely eliminates the need to bring an acoustic guitar on stage. I can go from Dave Matthews to Slayer with the flip of a switch. The versatility rivals the Steve Morse Model, but I think it wins because the Piezo pickups sound so good. If you blend the acoustic pickups in with the humbuckers it gives you a very bitey hollow sound like an old Rickenbocker which is probably why John Fogerty digs it.
Those guys all play lead, and there's no room for their egos. Fogerty shares out the rhythm and likes the wall of sound that multi-guitars makes. 40 years ago he was pioneering guitar lead/rhythm layers.
He is a guitar whore who will play anything any company send to him free, whether it is hooked up or not, on any song live. This is just so stupid teenagers like you and the others think it means the guitar is of worth when it is not a good guitar but was free. Stupidassses.
You obviously know nothing. I personally own one of these guitars because of it's versatility. The guitars retail at about $2400. The demand for them is very high and if you order one from Musicman there is over a six month waiting list.
Yeah. I've owned Strats, Gibsons, Ibanez, Jackson, Yamaha, and I own a Paul Reed Smith, but none can come even close to the versatility of the JP Musicman. Some musicians don't really need versatility and would rather just be versatile with 5 different guitars. That's fine, but what a pain if you are giggin'. I like bringing one guitar on stage and playing it for the whole show. (I do bring a cheap backup sometimes if it's a big show) If you are a guitarist, play one of these some time!
he needs five or six more people up there on stage

There's Buddy Miller tucked away at the back keepin' a low profile, arguably one of the most talented on stage IMHO.

So much hate, and still you torture yourself by watching every new video!
I think it's hilarious, keep the posts comin!
Get a life..

There is a pause button on the player, have you not noticed? So I don't get any torture.
No hate. Just reality for poor Johnny Mullet and his few freako fans and fractured family. He and fans like you are the ones being in torture.
Enjoy the torture yourself. Posts I will keep saying as long as I feel like it. Ha, ha, ha.

Another Fogerty lead record, in the toilet with an anchor.
He is as good as ever alright
His next album attempt will be Michael Jackson remakes with a dozen guys on accordion and two chimps on bongos.

@brainnumber2 Elvis Presley never wrote a song!
John Fogerty has a voice all his own,
it was made for rock singing. No greater rock singer than John Fogerty!
He is also the best looking of them all!

I-IV-V is the SEVENTIES? Try blues from way, waaaaaay back. Nope, this take of the song rocks, plain and simple.

The really good guitarists don't need 15 guitars for a concert. Mark Knopfler, Martin Barre, Jimmy Page, Clapton, etc. etc. Fogerty is full of shit.
