Yeah, it's just not the same, they seem to have not realized that the only reason people loved the old show as much was because of it's incredible cheesiness, which this show lacks. But what it lacks in cheesiness it makes up for in times Hulk Hogan can say "brother" in a sentence.
Let me tell you something, brother, when I was watching the first episode, brother, I swear Hogan must've said brother every other word when he was talking to one of the losers, brother. And let me tell you something else, brother, there are millions of screaming Hulkamaniacs out there, brother, and they've been saying their prayers and taking their vitamins, brother, just so they can get a chance to prove themselves as a true Ninja Warrior, brother...I mean American Gladiator...Brother.
Brother, my brother, Hulk Hogan, brother, is a brother, brother, of everyone, brother, because, brother, everyone loves Hulkamania brother, and brother, any Hulkamaniac is a brother to Hulk, brother.
Eliminator- Press "A" and "C" repeatedly to propel yourself across the course. You can earn up to 16 points in this event. Penalty points are deducted for falling off the balance beam and missing the hurdles (press "B" to jump over them).
Atlasphere- EASY game. Use the arrow keys to navigate the playing field, and roll over the pods to score. Each goal is worth a point.
Powerball- When the game starts, press "B" to grab a ball from the bucket of balls. Then, run to the scoring cylinder and get directly in front of it,and press "B" again to score. Press "B" whenever you're in the green part of the field with a ball to push the galdiator away. Outer cylinder scores are worth 1 point, and the center 2.
Assault Once you start, go to the first station, get in front of it and press button "B". Then, you move directly in front of the weapon and press assigned button "C" to grab it, and then you'll aim the weapon using the arrow keys, and then fire the weapon using button "B". When it's fired put the weapon down by using "B", and then move out of the station. This works the same for all of the rest of the stations. Hitting the red part of the target earns 5 points, and the bullseye 10.
I don't know why they made games like this. No tutorials or anything. I doubt the instruction manual helped at all either. Smashing buttons randomly isn't really my idea of fun. Curiously, the people who made this also made an awful Jeopardy game too, I'll upload a video of it soon.

Joust- To hit the gladiator use button "B". To move in closer to the gladiator press the right directional arrow. A win earns 10 and a draw 5.
Wall- Press "B" repeatedly to navigate the wall and the arrow keys to steer yourself in the right direction. A win earns 10 points, second earns 5.
