I use a .270 and have been for the last 8 years i seem to have the same and better results than almost all of my friends using the .22-250 and the .223
hey I'm wondering what kind of call your using? and i got a 7mm center fire savage Stevens rifle i was wondering if that's goof for long distance coyote hunting and what kind of bullets should i use so it doesn't make a big whole in the fur? lol
I use a Remington model 700 22-250, whith a 3-9x50 scope, harris bi-pod, my calls of choice are the primos power dogg, and the quaker boy cottontail screamer.
Since there is no trapping any more. Coyote populations are on the rise. They devastate fawn populations. There is hardly any animal that doesn't feel the impact of the coyote. They typically prey are the young. Even Turkeys and ducks get their nest invaded. The reality is hunters can verily put a small dent in there populations. Hunting coyotes is necessary. That is why there isn't many states that even put a limit on them. They know you can't impact them.
The 243 is a great coyote gun. The 7mm is a canon, but sometimes we have to use what we have until we can afford something else. 223, 22-250, 243 are the standards and the list goes on... Thanks for the comments!
Yes it is a Rem 700 action. It is a custom built 22-250. It is a tack driver. I took the stock off of it and didn't torque and lock-tite the bolts. My gunsmith about killed me. He is an accuracy nut. I took it back to him, he worked his magic, and it is as good as new.
Thanks for the positive comments. We have a couple more videos coming out. I just need to get time to edit them.
That's a little sound effect I added in at Uriah's expense. We like to make fun of each other as often as possible. If your not having fun, then it's not worth doing.
What calls do you prefer for coyote hunting?

Why shoot a coyote? Predator control, or just shooting things to watch them die?

id be willing to bet that more coyotes are taken with the 22/250 than any other rifle.
