Today- Walked into Wal-Mart to get pictures printed, went to the movie section waiting for the prints to finish, FOUND THIS VERY MOVIE ON THE RACK, picked it up, bought it, went home.

@zerosyc The movie isn't funny in the way most movies are funny today. The movie isnt all about jokes. It's mostly about the awkwardness of the boy and how he rationalizes things is pretty funny. Overall I really liked the movie, interesting watch. It's not exactly a comedy, but has some comedic relief.

@MrKathiBurke Why make films in the 1st place or have a story-line which has no interest in multi-culturalism. And yes I expect every film that is made by a black prs or a chinese prs or an indian prs to make or write their first film with it's own people in the frame. Look at Woody Allens films or David Lynch's films, their story-lines could have anyone in the leads but they don't so why can't these ethnic directors actually push they own race ahead it's what I would definitely do.

@MsFrittas Ayoade didn't write the book. It's an adaptation. He obviously liked the story and wanted to adapt it, and did so beautifully. You shouldn't expect every film by a black director to be about solely black characters.

cont.... I was watching the film Spawn which had a range of ethnic minorities and it's better than any superhero movie of the past 10 yrs. It wasn't racist n didn't stereotype the races. John Leguizamo as that creep blue klown and Micheal Jai White as Spawn and they were both amazing and just acting roles without their race being an issue. More films like this please. Why shud I spend my cash on films that could but don't add different races. This is y I will cont 2 pirate. No money 4 them.

Plus it is so annoying when you can't even trust black directorsetc to add ethnic minorities in lead roles, like Steve Mcqueen and even Ayoade's film submarine who is half Nigerian can't be bothered we have to rely on white film-makers to do it like those that did the film city of God which was a great film.
