  • What was the "mohra" the percussionists executed after 5.47? Of course, each great vidwan has his own version, but this appears totally different from what I have heard (admittedly very meagre) in versions of Aadi Taalam. A great listening experience, in all. Thank you Sir.

  • Ghatam quality is superb , wish they could set the mike for mridangam left and right ..both are masteros

  • Yella Venkateswara Rao is probably one of India's most talented mridangists. But a bit of a maverick and few leading artistes wanted to have him as an accompanist. Absolutely amazing left hand variety and control.

  • @vish1962 I had the good fortune to be one of his early students (before his "maverick" days) and it used to be a sheer pleasure to watch him perform with top artistes of the day and, yes, his fingers were indeed "electrocuted"!

  • that kind of ghatam is very hard to play

  • @FutbolFanatic90,

What type of ghatam is that? What are the benefits?

  • Mridangist went crazy at about 5:40. So fast his fingers were, like he had been eletrocuted

  • Thanks!

Another great mridangist i am seeing on video for the first time
