  • Pretty fuckin good for 1 and a half years

  • dude a few hundred more and terry bozzio's gonna be a very jealous person

  • i like your style, for sure you have not always played metal and nothing else,

good touch and dynamic also,do not worry about those who criticize you on the mistakes, you are still good, still studying!

  • Pretty sick double bass roll at :57. Sorry if that's the wrong terminology, im not a drummer.

  • @cbrandom My exact thoughts. That double bass at 0:57 is pretty spot on. good job

  • I find it hard to believe you've only been playing a year and a half. That's pretty bad ass for only a year and a half.. Did you take lessons?

  • 1:00 my favorite riff all times!

  • Hey nice cover dude. I love the last two minutes of this song. Totally epic. Good job for 1 and half years.

  • thats a big kit for a year and a half 0_0

  • a year and a half you say...hummm

You must have been playing every single day, having drum lessons at the same time, or you have been practicing that song from day 1

    good job :p

  • @buldr3k Time doesn't matter, some people just get the hang of it. I've been playing for about 2 and a bit years and I'm playing songs like Deliverance and Heir Apparent.

  • give me a break man....this was almost two years ago. I don't play at all like this now. I have some new videos coming soon

    -chris

  • @pigdog69animal rofl, i'm so gonna start using that: 'purely homosexual' :DDD

  • two pieces of advice - lock into the groove more and use your left hand more (your right hand doesn't have to do all the work). overall very good though.

  • That's amazing that you've only been playing for a year and a half. It's also amazing how many nice cymbals and drums you have, you must have a lot of money to throw around.

  • your kick patterns are ahead of the the third chorus, his double kick patterns are groove and not straight out dude, this is a very technical song to play, and you have far too much reverb on the accents, particularly the china crash. this whole song is about dynamics

  • In my book... YOUR THE MAN!

  • This was fucking heavy dude. Nice one

  • nice kit, how much did that cost to you overall?

  • great! and kick ass song

  • year and a half? do not believe o_O

pretty amazing job in any case though.

  • song is great, your drumming here is very close to original but you know that you still have to work on it

    greetings from poland

  • Freaking great cover man !

    And nice kit btw

    =D

  • Awesome! And you've only been playing for a year and a half!

  • Nice drumming mate, have been drumming for one and a half year myself, but can't do so many Opeth songs yet, hehe.

Very nice job! Keep on rocking!

  • That was damn good.

  • @ MagusGod:

    YOU WIN THE COOKIE!

  • yeah right

  • Very nice job. Very shocking you only been playing for a year and a half!

  • Thats a hell of a set up for playing 1.5 years! borrow anyones equip for recording day?

  • the bit at 2:10 where it changes to 8/4 is a bit messy, but thats a little tricky anyway until you get the feel for it! awesome drumming though for 1.5 years, i wish i could drum :/ dont stop practicing!

  • Pretty good. . . Nice drums...

By the way, This song's amazing.

  • Fucking sick, love you :)

  • Wow. You know too much... Do you have a teacher? How many hours a day do you practice? Greetings from Hungary, check my videos and my band on myspace:D

  • Ok your turn:P

  • I just watch these for the tasty toms. That ride bell tho is very clangy..check out Istanbuls. I like Paiste hats and crashes, istanbul rides and wuhan chinas

  • first rate mate!

  • Kick ass drum kit!:D

    Kick ass song! :D

    Kick ass band! :D

    Kick ass cover! :D

  • awsome, loved it

    nice looking kit

  • hmmm....im not sure if you have enough cymbals.

  • i know :) i've actually downsized to more of a jazz setup now, most of the splashes and chinas are gone!

  • good ear. i like your own take on fills too

  • What china do you have one the extreme right, just above your laptop??? Pls can you post the exact detais? Cheers

  • Sure thing, it's just a regular 20" Wuhan china, it was about 50 dollars or so.

  • Thanks mate! I have the same one! Lol. Didn't know it sounded so good.

  • Sonor SQ2 :P

  • This dude rocks!!

  • What set are those sonors? Oh and what's your ride? the bell is amazingly clear!

  • holy cymbals batman!

    freaking awesome drumming! :D

  • Jesus... I've been playing drums for 5 years and I'm not sure I could play it that well! You're a natural. Well done.

  • lol i was gonna say the same thing. but ive been on and off for 5 years.. mostly off..

  • Excellent work. I play the song on drums as well and I have to say I love your interpretation and the fills you bring to it. If I had your kit I would go crazy too. Insane kit man, now work on getting some mics.

  • thanks man! check out some of my newer videos - i have a full studio recording setup now :)

  • Damn!! Your good!

  • bomb job man, nice song too

  • Nice drumming Chrisp.

  • 1 year and a half and you have such an huuuuge drumkit, with such expensiiive cymbals... O_o

you must be very rich or very positiv about your drumming future xD

    well, but though great song...^^

  • Really tight and clean. Great job.

  • watched it again, and what the hell... almost impossible for a year and half... i mean u need time to get ur kit that way (i mean tom configuration and cymbals) so... i dont really think u "had" been playing for 1 year and a half :D.

  • for a year and a half, u have some decent sound drums...and nice cymbal taste ;)

  • wtf

    martin lopez jr

  • For the most part this is seriously tight, and you look so relaxed. I'm not sure whether to be more impressed at your skill after only a year and a half or how you managed to amass that kit so quickly. You said your hands cramped at some point and I can see that though your wrists are relaxed, I don't see any finger control which would definately help, check out Dave Weckl's 'Back to Basics' DVD, which I found very useful.

  • haha oh my god year and a half?!?! thats amazing... wow... are u serious? T_T i thought i was going fast... how the heck would u get that kit.

  • Good verygood! Congrats!

  • good work dude

    very nice drums

    congratulations...about playing

  • A year and half?

Ey dude this s a good work and the drums are amazing in opeth

    Well done"
