@molarmama5 I presume you mean the characters in the Film, or is it Genes' Persona in real life and triumph over mental illness you refer to, although during the making of The Egyptian Genes mental health issues were manifesting and which came to a crises while filming 'The Left Hand Of God' Genes inner conflicts and fears came across as a kind of vulnerability in Genes movies which endeared the viewer to Gene Regardless of how good or not so the movie may have been.
@HAPPYTHELEAF I have profound respect for Ms. Gene Tierney. I was referring to the characters, of the novel. However, I thought Ms. Tierney's acting was very interesting and flawless.
@molarmama5 I would agree entirely, I believe Gene to have been a great actress. In Genes own words, lack of assertiveness and the fear to say no to some roles caused Gene i effect to not get the chance at roles Gene might otherwise have excelled in.Have you had the chance to check out any of Shanghibenny2 Tributes to Gene they are worth a look.
@HAPPYTHELEAF I still pray for Ms. Tierney. I just feel her sadness. I do not want to patronize her by saying that I feel her pain , which would never be fair to her. Life dealt her a bad hand of cards.
Just bless you Ms. Tierney, please RIP, knowing you have left a loving group of fans.
@molarmama5 Genes First husband, Oleg Cassini, who remained a life long friend once said of Gene that Gene was ''The luckiest unlucky girl in the world, and when Gene married Howard Lee Oleg was meet that day by a reporter Oleg was reputed to have said, My wife was married today, there was a lot in those few words and it said a lot about Gene as a person. It would be wonderful if a movie could be made about Genes Life, if handled correctly it could serve as an inspiration for so many people.
This movie's GREAT!!! I LOVE the novel too!

Judith Evelyn stole the show! I just love her. She and Celia Lovsky kick ass, and should rule the world.

Never tell the truth to an old woman; especially if she asks! Something to live by.
