  • Watching that first fish track that frog was awesome!

  • Hey man, I really enjoy your fishing videos. I fish in GA everyday that it's not raining and sometimes when it is. I am stationed in Kings Bay GA on submarines and fish this base daily. There's a lake here and I tried the topwater weedless frog I got from Gander MT the other day and caught an 8lb 4oz first cast. Then I caught 9 more afterwards. Anywho, my shipmates and I love your videos. Keep em coming!

  • @HunnterMerrittt Wow, those are some very large bass! Keep it up and thanks for your service.

  • THANKS for these videos! They have really helped me alot! Boo ya!

  • @Josieakajos Back at ya with a big south florida redneck BooYah!

  • ps when will you have some videos

  • @chevyz711998 Thanks for the compliment. I am filming today and tomorrow. It will be out by wednesday. Thanks again!

  • hey man i love your videos your a very good angler and not a douch that brags about all the large fish you catch keep up the good work

  • how do u hook a peep toad?

  • What model gheenoe do you have and what pound thrust is the trolling motor? Very nice vid man!

  • i love that boat what is it tks

  • @thefishmaster100 The boat is a Gheenoe. They are made in Titusville, Fl.

  • Captain shane why is it that you decided to use a frog on open water like this with no vegetation or cover? Why not a worm or a spinner?

And also are you supposed to fish your frog fast all the time or do you sometimes fish it slow?

  • @Christian7thSF What you can't see is the kissimmee grass and hydrilla just inches under the surface. It is a topwater fog area...bigtime. Worms work well but you have to find the holes in the grass.

  • good size bass

  • I'm so pumped I hope my guide knows Wat he's doing

  • I live in ny and in like three weeks I'm going to lake okeechobee and fishing with a guide and I'm staying at the Roland Martin resort. Do u know Wat type of size fish I should expect to catch? Keep in mind I am using live shiners

  • @MCthebassman You should be getting fish over 7#. i was out there today and picked up a 8 and a 7 3/4# on topwater frogs. I'am Sure your guide will put you on em!

  • Your videos are amazing!

  • @Matthew3590 Thanks Matthew....I'am just getting warned up......march-august will be freakin incredible.....always is....just never put it on film. Thanks for watching!!!!!!!

  • when you set the hook a bit after 4:40 i knew it was big, i heard your reel sing (squeek) a little bit....check it out, that was awesome.

  • @Thecalyboi I figured it was a good one too.....just surprised he did not make a jump.

  • not playin around with the topwater baits

  • @jigginjoe94 I make em pay when they fall for the frog!

  • Cap any tips on avoiding blacklash?

  • @Guillo1187 Throw a lure with some weight, keep the brakes and tension knob adjusted properly and use your thumb to feather the spool.

  • awesome hook set! I love fishing those topwater frogs in cover! great fishing

  • @OnDaBrink43 I'am with ya brother!

  • Very nice Shayne!Loved that first hook set!

  • @dannymartin66 Yea it was killer...saw him tracking from 20 feet out...then Bam!

  • Great 1st video for the year. Thanks for sharing. Quick question, on the sets where you say "here we go.. here we go" do you actually see the Bass following the lure before it strikes? or is it because you are feeling the nibble before the set?

  • @yang4evr You may need to use the full page view when watching the video to pick up more detail. The bass were not nibbleing.....they were following. But you can actually see the bass throwing off a wake as he is chaseing down the frog. This is common while fishing shallow water.

  • hey why no trolling motor?

  • @SoCalBassMasta99 I have a trolling motor on the boat.

  • another great vid Shane! What do you estimate the water temp out there? I'm up here in Tampa and water has been pretty chilly. Just curious..

  • @SureDid19 I have no idea...but its a little chilly

  • How are you liking that Abu Rod? I got a micro guide veritas recently and was thinking of the Vendetta with a Revo Sx.

  • @diggy561 This is my first Abu rod. I like it alot. I mainly bought it to throw big frogs in heavy cover and it does a fantastic job. I do not have any complaints.

  • @captainshane100 I hope it lasts you longer than some of the other rods you've had. The price is right on them.

  • what's your favorite color frog to use out there?

  • @brosandpoles I like a natural green, but honestly I'am looking for a reaction strike so color is not that important to me.

  • Captain Shane, I love your videos and you've encouraged me to try the buzz-frog type frogs. I've caught several fish over 5 pounds including one 9 pounder on them. If you're ever in San Diego message me and I'll get you you're 10 in a little 3 acre irrigation district pond within a day or two of fishing.

  • @mtinch7 Thanks!

  • What frog is that one ?? Thanks great video..

  • SWEET Captain shane!

  • Nice just got back toho. Had the same results. Gotta love tht tpwter explostion! Haha

  • excellent video, damn atleast somebody is still not frezzing their ass of while fishing!

  • Is that a Vendetta ?

  • @allaroundfishing1 thank bro. The rod is a Vandetta and the reel is a Shimano Curado 200e7

  • Topwater it late winter? I wish I could do that!

  • Capt. Shane...Luv ur vids. Question: You use the Abu Garcia baitcaster, right? Can you make a vid on proper castering techniques and test line used? Evertime I cast mine even after setting it appropriately for the right size lure it continues to spaghetti tangle. Any help would be great! Thanks Smitty!

  • @Smthkd I use a Shimano Curado 200e7 baitcaster. But to help you...they are all basically the same. If your back lashing on the cast then you need to engauge more of the mechanical/centrifugal brakes. If you backlashing once the bait hits the water then you need to adjust the spool tension knob. Once you get the balance on these two adjustments then you will be throwing baits like a pro.

  • @captainshane100

Thanks! Your Awesome. Thinking about given that charter a try too!

    Thanks Capt!

  • @Smthkd One more thing..yiu nust use your thumb at all times to maintain controll of the spool. I think you gave me an idea for a new video series!

  • @captainshane100 What trolling motor do you use? I was surprised when you could go through weeds like lily pads.

  • @somereallycoolperson It is a Minn Kota 55# thrust "RipTide". I upgraded the prop. It does do a fantastic job!

  • Some nice fish Shane, great footage and intro!

  • @CoreyNowakowski Thanks Corey!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Man, i cant wait until it warms up enough here for a topwater bite! I may have to move to FL just because of year round topwater action!

  • Love the new intro!!!!!!

  • you make me homesick!!!!11

  • awesome video! Great catches also nice job
