I owned this for my modded saturn which meant it ran full sceen & full speed which you won't get with an import cartrige.A truly awsome game, just beats ikaruga for best shooter ever IMO.The saturn is also the best console I've ever owned & I've had all of segas hardware,PS1&2,N64,xbox original&360.
Even if you weren't pressed to spend $7 you'd still be pressed to buy this game. It's currently valued at $350 or better due to supply available and demand etc.
Are you honestly tellin' me radiant silvergun can sell for £175($350),man,I got this when 1st released for £40($80)and sold it 3 years ago for £5($10)
I was lucky to buy this game 10 years ago at $70. AT ELECTRONICS BOUTIQUE. And it's still the best 2D shooter I've ever played (and I've played Ikaruga, the R-types, ThunderForce V, Einhander, and the numerous Cave-style doujin shooters that get thrown around everywhere)
He he, thats just what I've been - doing! Buying Neo Geo pockets, a Saturn, a Dreamcast, N64 and loads of old games! ^_^ Nothing like the real thing..
Much depends on what you want from a shooter, This and Ikaruga are about getting chains and only attacking certain enemys, Einhander and R-type are slower paced horizontally scrolling games that have weapon power ups (RSG and Ikaruga dont). BTW these videos do not do this game justice, it looked absolutely breath taking on my old tube tv
I have this game. The grafic is the best shooter on Saturn. But i dont like the verry long bossfights. I more love DoDonPachi. This is a real Arcade shooter. Radiant silvergun is in my eyes a verry good shooter but for all arcade fans a little bit so slowly. Other games like Don Pachi or Strikers 1945 you put in in and the action goes fast forward.
yay! I just torrented it ,D L it, burned it, model 1 SS swap diask trick ,now im playing R S for free!!!! (but I will buy the original one day just like "Nintega" thats a fact, LOL )
Thats why I bought a Saturn.. Do it! They only cost $20-30! I love mine now I have it - no worries about region lockouts or anything with an action replay and you can obviously play back-ups ("call the cops!"). If you like 2D shooters or fighters, its a worthy investment..
Unfortunatly, I never had a Saturn, nor do I intend to get one. I downloaded this on MAME, but it's extremely show. Guess I'll have to wait till it comes out on Xbox Live (That is IF it does).
It would like take all day to download and when I played N64 games, it plays like a slideshow, and I have no idea how to make a Saturn rom work. Plus, it would take up alot of space.
I'm thinking a modded Saturn is really the only way to go.. Mames too slow, and SSF is painfully close, but just shy of giving an authentic experience because of the way it renders graphics.
It plays at 100% as long as you have a dual core, especially a Core 2 Duo, and it's entirely software dependent, so no worries about your video card.
Which is both a strength and weakness the program, because you're essentially playing in "software mode", meaning 3d looks highly aliased and not quite 3d-ish...
@andy7666 They are starting to get a little pricey as working systems are becoming a bit harder to find. You still can get them cheap but some people are asking upwards of $100 since they are starting to figure out that finding a working system is starting to get a little harder to find.
I like Soukyugurentai a little more, but this is the best OVERALL shooter package as far as visuals, soundtrack, and game play go, at least to me it is.
How is Radiant Silvergun claimed to be the greatest shooter ever by fans of the genre? What is so good about it? I don't see anything! Besides, notice the absence of boss music when you encounter one. That wasn't until the final boss and Ikaruga. Also, the ending is bad. Those are the flaws of this game.
I beg to differ! It's the most complete and well designed shooter I've ever played... and I've played a whole lot of 'em. I hated that last battle, though... man, does that stupid green gem ever die?!

i wish i could buy this game but i am too poor to even buy raiden 3 for the ps2 (which is like $7 at my local gamestop)

If its still there, I'd seriously suggest buying it - its worth alot more than $7 - certainly will be in future too.

I didn't know this special-attack or this game. What is wrong with my comment?
By they way, you're also on Youtube pal ^^. So we're all dumb.

I was talking about your grammar and punctuation... (i.e. By THEY way, That'S lookS, I didn't know this special-attack or this game, etc...)

OK nevermind. I'm not really good in english grammar. I should read my postings after typing.
I just didn't understand what you've meant with your comment.

SEGA SATURN - YOU PAY FOR THAT EXPERIENCE***

thats right, but emulation sucks on every system :)

This is a better game than ikaruga. much more challenging.
Ikaruga is still epic though.
Art direction was flawless in it.

but THAT GAME WILL RUIN YOU SAVINGS! emulate this game.
masterkill107 3 years ago
I find it funny how people moan how expensive this game is yet they buy like 4 360,PS3, and or Wii games a month which is the same price.
BTW the game still looks horrible on MAME.

It runs slow as hell on MAME.

Try the Saturn ROM and run it in a Saturn Emulator (I use SSF). I have an ancient PC - 3GHz, AGP graphics... and it runs at full speed.
