  • its amazing how someone can brainwash their students in just 25 minutes

  • This was NOT shown on PBS and it was shown during the early 80's when Reagan was President. It would NEVER be shown again on broadcast TV under a Democrat President.God Bless America, God Bless the freedom she gives us. To achieve, or to fail, that is of our doing thanks to America......

  • Oh ywah this story scared the shit out of me.

  • The better, full length copy is also at sites.google.com/site/thechildrensstory

  • In answer to your question, this was shot as a film , not video, for showing on television sponsored by Mobil Oil and Hallmark. It was not produced as an educational film. James Clavell himself was on the set and his daughter, who inspired the story, is the main character. A better copy is now on archive.org. It was filmed in an actual classroom during summer break. The shot of the new teacher tossing the paper in the wastepaper basket had to be filmed quite a few times because she kept missing.

  • James Clavell was a damn good writer.

  • No doubt intelligence has set new teacher ( her) free to fame. Thus is the real question not ...of the mind being con-trolled?. Loss of free-space. No area to be private in the name of the secure future.

  • so whats this whole thing about ? classes

  • brainwashing, cult phenomena, etc.

  • @MegaAnime1000

There are actually a number of deep political messages in this film from what i have seen in part one so far.. I think the comment by Cdubzhappy is quite on point and concise.. I like to watch things which have a lot of subversive underlying messages because i like to know how the Governments mind controlled those who passed before us as well as those who are here now.. I like to decode the filthy propaganda so i can get a clearer picture of why people are the way they are!

  • What were these used for originally, Sarah? Were they educational reel to reels to be watched in school like Bert Salzmann films?

  • The little girl in close up at 0:33 played "Molly" in the 1980's movie version of "Annie".

  • @thegirl44 THATS WHY I WANTED TO WATCH THIS.. to see her when she was a little younger. i loved her - favourite character in annie. too bad she didnt continue acting :(

  • It popped into stereo very briefly once, and I thought my speakers were on the fritz, but nope. Just this video is mono (mostly).

  • is it just me or is there suddenly something wrong with the sound?

  • There is nothing wrong with the sound, it's just mono not stereo.
