I think I understand now. Dylan knew all along that it was really a test, and fooled with Helena.. making her think that she really did love her. But Dylan just wanted Helena back, and this was the only way. I think Dylan would have agreed to do the movie with Niki, and thats what pissed Helena off the most.
Dylan did not do it for Helena's love, but only for her trust and gaining her back. In other words, she did the wrong way of trying to get her back. And lied more again.
