I've always looked at Bowie as if he was my elder brother. I've always loved him and I've listen to all of his albums as soon as they were released. Life on Mars is one his very best songs and like it or not "I don't give a flying fuck" to quote David himself.

Well I'm a music major and I have NO problem with this chord progression. What even makes a chord progression simple? If it's used all the time? Bowie uses a I, IV, vi, (flat)VI, V progression in this song which isn't even all that common. Either way it's irrelevant because it's more important what you do with the chord progression than the the actual progression itself, and in that regard Bowie strikes pure gold with this chorus. Don't always trust a music major ;D

Its one of the best things I've ever seen on tv and I REALLY recomend you watch it. Oh and don't bother with the American version, the English version is much better. :3
