Before that I spent a year in officers training, and before that 4 years in the citadel military college. I had been writing to my fiance the whole time. She sang me the first part of this song before I left. When I came back this month I found out about her other man. I really hope that somewhere there are people who can feel like they do in this song,

My cousin recently came back from over seas and got shot when the area he was in got ambushed. Its still kind of dangerous depending on where your at. I hate it when I tell people that my dad's a Major in the Army and they always assume that he's either dead or overseas. If he were dead I'd only be wearing ONE dog tag, he would have the toe tag. Soldiers can have other jobs than fighting overseas, my dad works with "special" weapons at an OFFICE. Yeah, he goes over to Afghanistan, working with weapons or something(i can't really know) he hasn't been over there for awhile and is just now going back to actually fight.
I like the song and stuff. It just makes me really sad realizing that when my dad leaves for Iraq, he might not come back and that is a lot for a 13 year old to take in. People always say that he'll be fine, physically, but he could have PTSD and other mental issues. He already has staples in his shoulders from his first deployment(when I was 7 and didn't understand what was really going on) and just because he came back the first time doesn't mean that he will again.

the question is....do u know if he is actually accepted into the marines and he already knows his first deployment. It's kind of sad when you know someone who WANTS to join and is just TALKING about it.... there are some of us, however who already have loved ones who are leaving for their first deployment soon and the ones who have family not coming home for the holidays. Until u know if he IS leaving or not. im sorry but don't complain...
i no u didnt ask for it but here is little helpful advice to make it easier to cope with this change
if he is leaving after high school then spend every free moment with him and stay by his side through it. its going to be hard on both of u but if he knows u r waiting for him to come home he is going to fight that much harder to make sure he gets back to u safe and sound and also writ him daily it keeps his spirits and it makes the distant a little easier to handle
and also lets him no u r safe which is one thing that he will be thinking about the whole time is if ur safe. and tell him thank you for doing something that so many of us in the states cant do which is put his life on the line to protect this country thank you.

This video does'nt have a happy ending,war never has a happy ending. When we send out young men and women, our vets out to fight and to die, we had best know all the reasons why for we are asking them to sacrifice something that cannot ever be returned to them or to us,and that is the miracle of life. There are to many wives, husbands, sons, daughters, fathers, mothers lost to war and why? How do we say goodbye or love you to a ghost? There are no sadder words than in loving memory of "name".

This song makes me cry every single time. my brother is in the air force. my dad was in the air force, my uncle navy and my other uncle marians without them i dont know what i would do. this christmas my brother is coming before he gets deployed. i cant wait to see him and cant stand the thought of him leaving me. i love him so much and pray that God will watch over him. this song makes me think of my wife soo much, and everything that she is going through during these holidays while I'm gone in afghanistan. I'm just glad that people can relate to us, and i'm thankful for all the people that are thankful that I'm over here putting my life on the line everyday.....Air Force gunner till the day I'm dead.....And honsetly sometimes this song brings a tear to my eye when I think of my wife and i during it....

welll.... This song makes me cry when it's all by itself. The song and video together made me bawl. My boyfriend is joing the marines and I'm scared to death that something is going to happen to him. We're the same age and bothe of us are seniors in high school right now so I've still got some time to hold on to him, but... it doesn't feel like long enough. I hope that when my soldire has to leave me he always comes back to me safe and in one piece.

the question is....do u know if he is actually accepted into the marines and he already knows his first deployment. It's kind of sad when you know someone who WANTS to join and is just TALKING about it.... there are some of us, however who already have loved ones who are leaving for their first deployment soon and the ones who have family not coming home for the holidays. Until u know if he IS leaving or not. im sorry but don't complain...

i no u didnt ask for it but here is little helpful advice to make it easier to cope with this change
if he is leaving after high school then spend every free moment with him and stay by his side through it. its going to be hard on both of u but if he knows u r waiting for him to come home he is going to fight that much harder to make sure he gets back to u safe and sound and also writ him daily it keeps his spirits and it makes the distant a little easier to handle

I always cry when I listen to any song that reminds me of them, and this one brings the biggest. I hope you are taking care and you get to talk to him a lot. My brother is in the Marines i am i think he might get deployed in August but im not quite sure if he still is going to. I think about this when people die, they are in a way better place Heaven when they die and they are getting taken care of up there. and they are young and healthy again so God Bless America

Me and him just started to get really close and then hes going out in the middle of next year and he lives a few hours away so i dont get to see him much.... the time i get with him before he goes out im going to keep close to me and wish its never up.... and every time i talk to him every night i just wish and pray he comes home safe even though hes not even gone yet.

my bfff/sisters brother is afghanistan and everytime I hear of the war or if someone died I call her and then tht weekend i will come over to comfurt her,
I cry with her 'cause I know it must be hard for her, especially when there are some many dying in afghanistan, I hope the war will just end 'cause it breaks my heart to see her cry and it'll be worse if her older brother dies..

my daddy is in afghanistan and songs like this always make me cry. its terrifying not knowing when you are going to talk to your loved one again. i wont be allowed to see him for another 6 months unless something happens to him. i pray every night that he comes back home in one piece i miss him so much.
