Eh, considering who the Locusts are, and how ruthlessly brutal they are, I doubt Dizzy had a chance of escaping when he was directly engaged in combat with the Chainsaw Locust. Especially considering how Tai was captured, and was expected to have higher combat abilities. However, I guess one can speculate that Dizzy got captured, then Alpha team or someone freed him before too much damage was done.

And what makes you think we knew Tai that much more? The two were around for about the same amount of time, but Tai dies very early into the game. Furthermore, that happens in Gear 1 where the commanding officer dies to that Locust general and another soldier dies to the Berserker.

I think that's simply one of the main points drawn across about the war. The fight is so brutal that it hits upon all without any discretion. Children, women, men, the experienced, inexperienced, etc
