Awesome is all I can say. I will spend the money I'll get for my 17th birthday (on the 12th of August :D ) on a dulcimer. I am not quite sure, but there aren't many Germans who play those instruments. But we've got things like the Scheitholt and the Hummel (or Hommel in Dutch) which also sounds very beautiful.
But I've got a question, what's the sense of these uhmm... "double-dulcimers"? Even though yours sounds amazingly you just use the upper half of it don't you?
Beautiful!! I'm about to get my hands on a dulcimer tomorrow and have been watching your stuff a lot lately, great music :) The stuff I'm most familiar with is mostly old American folk, so it's really neat to see you do this with it!
Hey Lynz - that's awesome, first time playing the dulcimer or about to begin? Either way, you'll be happier with one in your hands! Thanks for watching!
Second time, actually :) I started banjo about 3 months ago with Aubrey Atwater, and she plays dulcimer, too. First got my hands on one at the Rhode Island folk fest a couple weeks ago and can't wait to borrow one to learn on!
Hallo! Thank you for the kind words. I agree - the 1+ fret is excellent for getting into D minor and other minor keys without capoing - I'm sold on it!
Thanks for the kind vibes! It's sort of mixture - I learn songs by ear quite a bit - and then I also find tab for songs, mostly fiddle tunes, online and then find recordings to be sure I've got the gist of the melody. So, maybe 70% by ear, 30% by reading.
Bing- This is great! I didn't think you could possibly top I Will Move ON- but you did! You have a beautiful voice. We love your music. Thanks for putting it out there for everyone to enjoy.
Thanks, Neph - that means a lot! Yeah man, I've been hanging out with crazy-good players, been working scales-in-box across the strings for exercises. Glad it's showing. : )
Thank you, I appreciate your comments - and I'm glad you are inspired to play - the best kind of blessing for me. (And I learned the Breath of Fire from your page - thanks for that.)

I think the point is to be able to have a different tuning on each neck so as to alternate quickly between your favorite ones

Hey, you have a great voice. The 1 1/2 fret is realy good for such songs on the MD.
Greetings from Germany.

I have to agree with Dulcimoree - simply outstanding! Do you learn songs mainly by ear?
