About 45 minutes of this concert was shown by the BBC in May/June 1980 and then repeated in August 1982 as part of a 'Rock Week'. I had a copy on VHS at that point but have long since lost it, but I have managed to preserve an audio copy on cassette tape. 'The Cage' is there as is quite a bit of 'Duke' stuff -the current album at that point. Saw the April 12th date on this tour at the Brighton Centre 1980, so have fond memories...
Que velocidad, que creacion, que cordinacion, que predisposicion, que impresion, que genios, que monstruos, que hijos de p...., que me vuelven loco. Que maestros. No hay ni habra mejores.
Genesis always had great lightshows too, I think Mike and Tony had a lot of input into them. Another facet that put them well up there in their own pedestal.
This song is one of the most powerful rock songs in history when witnessed live. Still gives me goose bumps. I first saw them play it at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, CA in 1982. LOVE IT!
That's of course from the London Lyceum Ballroom. 1980 was the very last year where Tony used his vintage Hammond T-102 organ before replacig it by a Prophet 10. Unfortunately he ditched his Mellotron after the 1878 tour.
Anyway: I look forword to a restored realease of this fantastic gig after all these years where it never was officially available.
Anyone noticed on the version that came with the Duke sacd, at the the camera cuts to clips of In the Cage which i find really annoying, this is a much better version despite Mikes little mistake.
God given Talent !! Just awesome ! Thanks for posting this !!!!

haha, look at all the geeks air-drumming at 3:17. Of course if I were there I would've been one of them.

That was really good considering they scaled-down the lighting & effects for that tour.
