My husband owns one of these but we have no documentation about it? Does anyone have any information on the model or anything on it so we can locate specs or manuals or anything?
When I was at school. Bective Boys School Northampton UK. They had ones like this in the metal work classroom. Wonderfull. I wish I had noe now to put onto my stationary engine.
Though this may be an antic designed power saw, I think it's still ingenious today. However one problem is the lack of adequate downward force (exerted during the cutting stroke), which makes it cut much longer than it should (as this force appear only to be contributed by the weight of the hacksaw only).
@7olusegun Untrue there is a weight hanging there which is adjustable. More weight=more downward force exerted. This will put useless stress on the blades on the backstroke but this is not a problem apparently.
Nice saw! I would love to find one of those for my lineshaft.

Funnily enough, I was planning on building something similar to this next. A very clever piece of engineering.

If they are not too worn out, those old power hack saws will cut more accurately than a lot of today's imported horizontal band saws.

i think the handle on top is for the operator to apply more pressure and lift the blade when done

newer power hacksaws have a automatic feed wich also lifts the blade a bit on the backstroke.
