  • DEATH METAL. Not Grindcore.

  • @redwraith122 The Kill is off Scum, and Dead is off From Enslavement to Obliteration (CD version, but still). Two seminal grindcore albums.

  • I used to love TFI Friday. Amazing to see ND on there.

  • Cant believe most of you dont realise Chris Evans is taking the piss, music???

  • 2:41 KSJAHSDAKHSHSDASAH YAAAAY *CLAP* CLAP* *CLAP*

  • I seem to remember Napalm Death eating ice cream on the Nemesis rollercoaster at Alton Towers or something... Was the programme called the Priory or something?

  • This was a really influential programme back in the day - a lot of people clung onto Evans` every word.

  • 0:44 - 1:23, try to explain THAT to your parents!

  • No matter how hard I try, I just can't make out the words. Something about acorns or unicorns?

Anyhoo, if they slowed the music down and dressed in brighter colours they'd have a lot more success IMHO.

  • @Alimantado91 metal bands pretty much play what they want and its self expression and its not about popularity and money because that destroys the passion of the music

  • @Alimantado91

Its not about being able to sit and learn the fucking lyrics. There is more to music than a catchy vocal hook... Open your mind.

  • @ChainsawVsGod

I'm sure if they put their collective minds to it the Napalm Death boys could start turning out hits à la Creed or Stiltskin and bag an advert or two! Gripes aside, I always recommend the first three Carcass albums, a band known for their lively guitar playing and proper lyrics!!

  • @Alimantado91

There is no way in hell that you can make out Carcass lyrics on Reek Of Putrefecation. If you say you can then you're lying.

And I don't give a toss what you'd recommend. What make you think I care about what you'd recommend?

  • @ChainsawVsGod You've got to admit anything by Morbid Angel gets the old toes a tappin' on the way to work of a mornin', although they couldn't match early Elton John or Steely Dan for hummable tunes. Another band who would have found success if only they'd had decent haircuts and co-ordinated outfits! What ever happened to Kenny Bamber?

  • @Alimantado91

Aha. I see what you're doing.... You're being a cunt.

  • @ChainsawVsGod

    Yes.

  • YUp GrindCore Not Thrash, But I Like Both and other stuff, Deth, Doom, Funeral Doom, Power etc yo get idea ;) seen them in Wrexham 2011 \m/

  • wow an actual metal band on a mainstream show. i guess tv was actually ok back then.

  • Thrash Metal........they're Grindcore buddy.

  • To be fair Chris Evans was basically untouchable around that time, he could have had someone defecating on a picture of the queen live on stage and people still would have lapped it up, fair play to him though for having Napalm Death on this show though, as it was exposure for the band.

I'm not a fan as such myself, but remember seeing this before I went out one night and thought it was great, and the band themselves obviously enjoyed an audience of several million on a Friday evening!

  • See those women shouting and clapping even don't knowing what the heck that band was playing is most hilarious than the hoster's Face.

  • its a stupid combination this band and this show. but i love watching this

  • Toe tappingly spiffing, what what!

  • People, if they had been described as "grindcore" they'd not been watched.

Noone in the public knows what grindcore is but because of Metallica, they know vaguely what thrash is.

  • Despite getting the feeling that the Audience were mockingly clapping and cheering i think Chris was a "Good Guy" to show these arseholes what they were missing .......

  • this sounds like a cow farting in a tunnel

  • @Jesteria78

    Thats the idea.

  • Stop being bellends. So he might not know the proper term for ND's genre, but the fact is, it was Chris Evans who got them to play live on TV. I can't think of any other mainstream TV presenter who would have done that for such a diverse band. TFI Friday was awesome, and it was live, then repeated later at night. Napalm would have gotten shitloads of exposure for this! Also, I managed to get 5 seconds of Napalm Death played on Smooth fm the other morning!

  • @GoreBastard i just agree with you sir.

  • @GoreBastard ND was on TV already in 1989. Check the link on the right. Chris Evans who???

  • @GoreBastard i agree, nowadays its total bullshit. it would be the saturdays and shit acts like that. its actually refreshing to see an awesome band like ND on a show like this

  • @GoreBastard suppose youve never seen their other bbc performance they done before that?

  • @GoreBastard

What makes you think that Chris Evans was the one who got them to play live. He was just the presenter.

  • heh heh heh what the fuck?

  • chris evans, you are a wepon,

  • Napalm Deat are down there,.... yeah its a shame you're up there Chris Evans you massive speng, cos you're a grade A c*nt. Id like to tear your little ginger eyes out ...with a spoon!

  • It's not thrash metal, it's GRINDCORE you ginger numpty !

  • do you have any footage of napalm death on that jamie theakston and zoe ball show the priory back in 2002 where they were on a rollercoaster trying to eat food i cant find it on you tube or anywhere

  • If ND is thrasing metal band I am pink elephant

  • what a load of crap.have never heard such shit in all my life.

  • @MrT9alizee Moron alert!

  • Nice try, Chris Evans, but if you're going to include a Metal band into your show then you should probably conduct some research, as opposed to simply relying on the retards that write your autocue.

  • its grindcore dumbass!

  • He is a dumbass this is not Thrash Metal

  • Barney looked so funny with long hair.

  • @BludgeoningTheWeak I know, hes my cousin

  • i wish this line up made the same Grindcore stuff in the 90's like the first two albums. RIP Jesse Pintado

  • I really miss this show

  • It's annoying that he keeps calling them a thrash metal band. GRINDCORE! GET IT RIGHT!!

  • How informed and intelligent to say Thrash songs are short when m whereany album's average song duration is over 6 min and even fucking more when you're introducing a Grindcore band, asshole...

  • He keeps stressing the length of each song so his viewers can know when its over so they wont be compelled to change the channel.

  • lol how does sheryl crow follow that?

  • this cunt only LIKES them because John Peel LOVED them

  • lowpoint is much more longer than 30 secs

  • What a gobshite Chris Evans is and always has been. It's bloody GRIND, you ginger <unt!

  • @NailBombed stop complaining, i think that it was cool of him to let napalm on a family show, so stop badmouthing him

  • Thrash Metal?

  • i don't even know what grindcore is. why does metal have so many subgenres and subSUBgenres?

  • @TheJayman213 Grincore comes from hardcore punk not metal :)

  • @kapstuk1o9 oh... that's embarassing -.-'

  • How many times can one man call a Grindcore band Thrash Metal in 3 minutes?

  • @dalehusbanduk lol I was thinking the same thing

  • @dalehusbanduk They didn't know they were gc when they formed.

OO a band... need to categorize them or else people wont know what clothes to wear to show their appreciation.

    This is Tauren faeces.

  • I really don't think that Chris Evans really has a like or commitment to, as he calls it, 'thrash metal'. If he were he would know that nobody really calls Napalm Death thrash metal. I think he was just trying to be edgy .He really is a plonker.

  • Fucking awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Isnt NApalm Death GRINDCORE??? not Thrash Metal???

  • Thrash Metal....AHAHAHAHA!

  • i remember seeing this when it was on tv i almost shat a brick with excitement cos i didn't know they where on it win for napalm death fans that day

  • this is awesome i remember watching this when it was on the telly but i cant help but think the twats on TFI are mockin ND but who gives a fuck \m/

  • love how the audience dont shutup, they're like FUCKING YEAH NAPALM and chris evans is like, alright shutup

  • I don't care if it's Thrash or Death or Grindcore.

  • Fuck, never knew Chris Evans liked this sort of music! My respect has gone up for him! (though ND is grindcore, not thrash). But fuck, this is awesome!

  • BRUTAL

  • this is sick!\m/

  • @LadyHassy There are educated americans on Youtube??

  • @Pannemat No the sasquatch isn't real!

  • the best fuckin band in the world.

  • why didn't they do You Suffer? SELL OUTS

  • i dont recognise that other guy featured in the band there who is that? probably a past member or something but idk who |:

  • @PureHayabusa That would be Jesse Pintado who sadly passed away in 2006. RIP mate !

  • @PureHayabusa You stupid plonker, you don't recognize the founder of grindcore, the godfather of noise and extremely talented composer Jesse Pintado. Go and watch some fucking stupid football match, you heretic...

  • @NapalmDeathMania and here we can see the effects of pms where one guy explained to me who he was fucken 3 months ago then you come along with your pms, i didnt even start listening to napalm death in 2006 or before that for that matter, and if it wasnt for your parents' favourite football team winning down the track they wouldnt have been stimulated enough to create you

  • @PureHayabusa haha owned

  • @NapalmDeathMania

calm down fag, don't cry about it

  • @Volentrix your mom sucks my dog's bollocks breathless...

  • @NapalmDeathMania

    don't get mad

  • @PureHayabusa Yeah he died of a drug overdose.

  • @missfrancesca99 No Jesse died of a Liver Failure stemming of excessive alcohol consume

  • @PureHayabusa ,yeah Jesse Pintado was one hell of a guitarist and a huge figure in the band

  • i like the way the 22 second song has a time for an intro

  • R.I.P Jesse

  • I also hate the opposition and elder supremacy people from previous generations (90's teen generation in particular) seem to have against the new ones. Yes, your generation was cool, but that doesn't mean the world should stay in the 90's. People who were teens in the 90's are the most fucking butthurt I've seen, apparently because they think they were the only generation that mattered. I don't exactly like my generation either, but don't forget that you too were an ignorant angsty teen once.

  • THE AUDIENCE! SHERYL CROW! NAPALM DEATH! ... did I just enter the twighlight zone? what the hell. How does Sheryl Crow and Napalm Death end up in the same concert? On a side note, you gotta love Sheryl's 90's apperance, all alternative and shit. Look at her now, shes just another redneck hick. I know this because I live in a hicksville environment that force feeds me country every time I'm in public. (or rap) This just proves how much of a tool most musicians are.

  • Dead was the best 5 seconds of my life

  • Napalm Death = Thrash Metal? wtf?

  • This is why the English are headfucked well done something you yshould not be proud of

  • @indiancruise i'm not english (just under 100 miles north of the border) but i feel compelled to comment.

where are you from and what are you proud of? also, are you sayin english people shouldn't be proud of TFI Friday? or maybe that napalm death hails from england and they shouldn't be proud of that? need some clarification here.

  • What an absolute pile of rubbish, anybody could do that, crank up the guitar and just hammer it!! dreadful!!

  • @thesnowdens I don't see you coming up with anything better. Go try it for yourself before you say it's just hammering the guitar. Come back and tell me you can play it perfectly and maybe I'll listen. But since that's not going to happen, I'll ask you to take your uneducated opions elsewhere.

  • @thesnowdens you clearly don't have a fucking clue just how technical extreme metal is.

  • @Rabsputin Nice one, I hear your sarcasm brother!!

  • @thesnowdens there was no sarcasm in my comment but your's is clearly dripping with it.

from a technical perspective, extreme metal pisses all over every other kind of musicianship, if only for the simple fact that it has to be played at a ridiculous tempo. it's not exactly forgiving when you make mistakes either so you have to be seriously good with your chosen instrument.

  • @Rabsputin Fair enough, from that comment you obviously know what your on about and I'm quite prepared to stand corrected on this matter, but you must admit, to the untrained ear this music, especially on this clip, sounds shocking and is probably quite easy to play for anyone who has 11 on their amp!!

  • @thesnowdens i'll give you that. it's definitely an acquired taste but once you've been listening to this kind of thing for long enough you can pick the notes out by ear, even at that speed, it's amazing how our ears can adjust.

  • @Rabsputin I think your statement is a load of crap, personally. I'm not really into imrpovised jazz music, but fuck me, some of those musicians "shred" fiddles or double basss (or whatever) like thrash/death/ grind bands. Not only are they playing some pretty dextrous stuff, it's often off the cuff.... and pretty mind bending. I doubt these guys could smash their way through an improvised set like some virtuoso Jazz musicians can. There's plenty of insane musicianship there. Just sayin'.

  • @RichRobinson "I think your statement is a load of crap"

you obviously don't seein as you said "some of those musicians "shred" fiddles or double basss (or whatever) like thrash/death/ grind bands", like being the operative word there, you equated them.

i can appreciate the technical ability of gifted jazz musicians myself and there's no denying their talent, but it takes nothing away from the musicians in extreme metal bands and the enormous amount of time and effort they put in themselves.

  • @Rabsputin I'm not taking anything away from anyone. You made the point that extreme metal musicianship pisses over that found in any other genre, which I think is a naive statement. I picked jazz cos it's comparable to metal in that it's generally regarded as a genre that demonstrates a high level of musical proficiency. One could argue that the jazz guys are technically superior to extreme metal guys. Jazz covers more musical disciplines than extreme metal, plus they can still "shred"!

  • @RichRobinson well perhaps i was being ignorant with regards to jazz musicians. i wouldn't say they're ALL superior to extreme metal musicians, just as i wouldn't say it the other way round, every genre has got people who're not quite as talented as others.

i didn't mean to rain on their parade however talented musicians within the extreme metal genre piss all over most other genres as a whole eg you don't need to be very talented to write a half decent gabber track, a great one however...

  • siense napalm death is thrash metal..

  • Chris Evans. Once a Cunny, always a Cun+

  • That was 2 seconds long not 5

  • They could have put "you suffer" in at the end... :P

  • Chris Evans you king of life!

  • @LadyHassy Since when do Americans speak correct English lol.

  • \m/\m/\m/\m/\m/\m/

  • thrash, black, death, speed, grindcore. i just lump the whole lot in togeather as "super metal."

  • LOL stupid host. calling Napalm Death thrash metal. at least he seems impressed with it instead of making fun of it.

  • thrash metal?

  • Jesse Pintado (2006) R.I.P

  • awesome!

  • SO ironic :)

  • lol

  • I don't know man, I think Sheryl Crow is WAY heavier.

  • I HAVE TO KNOW THE GENRE!!!!!

What will my friends think if they find out I am caught listening to a black-thrash-o-alter-grudge-i-sonic-hippy-jamma-grass-a-billy band and I don't know it ?!?!?

  • GREAT MUSIC AT TV ;)

  • whats with the 10 second songs :P

  • I am pretty sure that all of the sound equipements in this show were all overruned and burned after Napalm Death show. Probably, the heaviest band ever invited to a mainstream tv show hahaha

  • Barney with hair \m/ old skool napalm, one of my fav bands :)

  • Thrash metal?

  • @Crow667 grindcore which is a mix of hardcore punk and extreme metal

  • @hoikevinhoi I know, that's why I said "Thrash metal?"

  • Napalm Death and Sheryl Crow wow what a extreme contrast.

  • Well, I think we can forgive the host for calling this thrash metal if hes into Napalm Death and actually let them be on their show.

  • forgot what a cunt chris evans was.

  • just look at the audience.. like WTF are those people to go and see napalm death ??

  • @TheMetalHead554

The audience will have obtained tickets well in advance of the live broadcast without knowing what bands were gonna be booked to play. I guess they all got lucky !

  • @triptykon im gonna make a video about how shitty grind core is and prove it ahs no talant cuz im gonan perform covers of this shit to prove its easy and than write my own grindcore song on thie video and perform it and all grind core fans will love that song and it will show them how retarded it is !!!!! o.o

  • @TheMetalHead554 stop judging people

  • @aveffects I am just saying they don't look like people who would listen to napalm death. What's your problem?

  • The last song is great. I only had a radio edit of it before, so it's good to hear the full version.

  • barney had long hairs????? wtf? am i crazy? :D

  • I'm a CEO at a major distribution firm, and last week I had to make over 50 people redundant.

I played them this to inspire & cheer them up a bit. Didn't seem to work, though. Well, it's not my fault I chose to work hard at college & not have a baby by some deadbeat guy at 18! They can all take their sorry asses elsewhere...

  • @SuperTruth77 No one gives a fuck if your a CEO, I would rather be happy and poor than be a rich wanker like you.

  • chris is quite good i think as i listen everyday to his radio2 breakfast show.......

BUT... he is a ginger michael cain in this video

exellent dj presenter host car owner

    keep it up!

  • Awesome. It's not thrash though Evan's.

  • @SymptomOfTheParanoid Chris is a savvy enough broadcaster not to say "Grindcore" to an uninitiated audience. I think the crowd would have been question marks at that! Mind you - I thought the presentation was a bit of a piss take: "oh, look at the long haired people, making a lot of noise...let's be condescending".

  • napalm death was thrash?

  • i love death/thrash/grind/whatever -metal

but 5secondsongs are just the biggest shit on this earth

  • @Habcdefg94 very true.

    auheuheauheuheuwuhwaauhhaha

  • @Habcdefg94 then you probably shouldnt listen to "you suffer" :D

  • @emophodze i prefer *make them suffer* from cannibal corpse ;D

  • The people who care to classify everything only care so they can try and look cool because they listen to a certain style. Embrace it all, there are complete shit and complete greatness from virtually all genres of music. Napalm Death's genre is stomping your spotty faces into the floor-al.

  • very brutalityyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • Los esta re descansando

  • "thrash metal"?

  • Thought it was grindcore

  • Say what you fuckin like about Chris Evans, this is TV gold.

  • @ tamaroyalstar how cqan you say that napalm are "heavily influnced by heaps of thrash"?they started out in '82 and that was well before thrash was ever mainstream, other than the likes of exodus, kreator, etc.napalm are the forefathers of grindcore, always have been.they're more influenced by u.k punk and metal.as for genres,i'm with you on that.music is music and not a fashion statement like the '30 seconds to mars' kids.what's wrong with jeans and a t shirt??

  • Im so sick of you teenage idiots arguing about metal gendres on every youtube page. For fuck sake shut up and just enjoy life. Yeah Napalm Death arnt thrash butt they are heavily influenced by heaps of thrash. Metal is one big happy family for us old school metalheads. Its fuck head teenage losers like you lot that argue and waste comment space on youtube that ruin it for all of us. Who cares what catagory of metal certain bands are. Who gives a fuck.

  • @tamaroyalstar They still play fast as fuck and are metal. So yeah... thrash.

  • @tamaroyalstar Right on brother!

  • agreed. what is the point of order with disorder. metal is metal. and no white lion was not metal, they were cock rock.

  • @tamaroyalstar well said my friend!!!!!!

  • @tamaroyalstar not true its music of this genre taht gets everyoine thinking metal is just train wreck noise with no talent its why metal has to be 1 big family cuz if it wasnt there would be no msupporters of it cuz when people think metal they think GRWAHAGAH RAWAR!!! DEATH!!!! adn satan and other stupid things

  • @tamaroyalstar Fucking THANK YOU.

  • @tamaroyalstar too right, well said....

  • @tamaroyalstar You said it man. Long live metal! \m/

  • Put a cucumber in your ass and mouth to stop every possible leak. Napalm Death are kickass

  • Is that barney?
