I am always shocked at the uneducated responses on here about dressage riders! I have ridden an untrained racehorse off the track that did piaffe and passage around to show off in front of other horses without being trained to do it. If you watch them in the pasture, you will see horses do canter pirouettes to get away from other horses running at them from 2 different directions! How then can you say these movements are not natural??
The point is, RunninQHsRock is that, when a horse is working at this level he is so fit and so motivated that he (or she) is bursting out of his skin! Those 'outbursts' of rearing etc are a sign of playfulness and exuberance! They look pretty magnificent even when they are being 'bad'! You will notice that the riders are usually laughing when this happens because they know that it is purely high spirits and a sign that their horse has it's own personality and isn't just a robot!!

Havent sth against dressage, think its a beautiful sport. But look at 0:32, the horse is tensed up. Better to see at 1:01 where the hindleg is absent, the horse isnt working in the back, its only trimmed to lift his foreleg as high as possible. The same is the case at 1:31: The head of the horse is behind the vertical, it doesn't look like it has fun. There are better riders who know to bring their horsé to do this stuff with fun and with other techniques. Im sorry for my englisch, Im German.

Rodeo isnt cruelty in my oppion i mean barrel racing isnt cruel or pole bending or calf roping and those broncos are kept fed and well they just arent broke thats all and the dont spur them. well im just sayin cause ive ridden western all my life and i know rodeo stars they have i bond between horses like no othee they just dont get on a horse as if its just another animal.

Tell me a dressage rider who never tested to use Rollkur, not public but at home? Who did not? I mean it's not good to do Rollkur but who does not? And it often happens without knowing. And all riding on a horse is against his nature, or not?

@NedineH2O Dressage would not be a sport if it was animal cruelty. Everything has been put through their tests its all fine, and not every horse like a saddle put on his back to start with, but over time they accept it. they arent FORCED into it, they ACCEPT it and horsemanship starts from there. Showjumping..A sport where horses jump over obstacles,thats not natural either but the horses are hell excited to get into that ring =P
@NedineH2O however i get your point, and i can only agree if the rider sucks, the horse is uncomfortable or if there is no partnership. u gots to feel one another and do whatever it takes to keep that horse happy, as they keep u happy too =)

Silly child. Have you ever watched a person dance ballet or extreme sports? Those are not natural movements, but they're all sorts of fun to do! It's the same with horses, who are, of course, thinking creatures. A horse who does not enjoy what it does, or does not have a good partner, cannot be as successful as one who enjoys what it does! @Horseloverkooder I'm talking about to that extent. The way we train them and have them do is accentuating on the natural performances of these animals. We perfect their form and the way they carry themselves in training. Very few breeds already carry themselves with such preciseness without the aid of reins and a rider.

Und wenn er Rollkur reitet, wäre ja nicht der Erste...was mich stört ist das ständige Schweifgeschlage seiner Pferde und auch das fast nur hinter der Senkrechten geritten wird....
Was habt Ihr denn alle für Sorgen? Wenn Ihr alle so große Ahnung habt dann meldet Euch doch zu Turnieren an, dann könnt Ihr allen auf dieser Welt zeigen das es auch ohne angebliche Rollkur geht!. Voll der Haufen kleiner Kinder die 2x die Woche irgendwelche Schulpony´s reiten und dann meinen sie könnten mitreden! Lernt erst mal richtiges Deutsch....

DAS ist aufjedenfall keine Rollkur. Der weit angelehnte Hals ist nur einem sehr guten Training und Aufwärmübungen zu verdanken UND man kann es auch ohne jegliches Hilfsmittel hinbekommen, mit den richtigen Gewichtshilfen. Sieh erstmal genauer hin, ehe du dir ein solches Urteil erlaubst!
Die maulspalte aller Pferde ist fast immer leicht geöffnet!
Die Nase gerät recht häufig hinter die senkrechte! Selbst wenn sie das ist dann ist die Nasenlinie genau in der Senkrechten, das die Nase mal leicht davor kommt(wie es sein sollte) sieht man gar nicht!
3:35 zeigt -in meinen Augen- dass er doch ein Mensch ist, der viel Sporeneinsatz zeigt.
So ein Hero ist er nicht. in meinen Augen. Der Schimmel war ein wirklich tolles Pferd, der ihn groß raus gebracht hat. Aber mein Favorit liegt da eher bei Balkenhol und den alten Reitmeistern.
Reiten ist Kunst, Gefühl, Verständnis und dient dem Pferd und dann somit dem Reiter.

Hoffentlich werden die Richter in China sich nicht wieder von dem exaltierten Gestrampel blenden lassen. Fester Rücken, Nase hinter der Senkrechten, gebrochene Diagonalen, kurbelnder Schweif, Pseudo-Piaffen auf der Vorhand - hat das noch was mit klassischer Dressur zu tun? Die Dressur ist fürs Pferd da, um es geschmeidig und gesund zu halten - nicht das Pferd für die Dressur. Man lese Gerd Heuschmanns "Tug of War" und werde hoffentlich etwas schlauer...

Endlich mal jemand mit Pferdeverstand hier! "Die Dressur ist für das Pferd da, nicht das Pferd für die Dressur!" Wer sagte das gleich wieder? Nehmt euch das mal zu Herzen! Z.B. ist die Passage eine natürliche Bewegung des Pferds (Imponiergehabe), man muss doch nicht mit Sporen stochern etc um Passage zu zeigen, eine solide Grundausbildung täte das auch!

ssabmudu: Cavan is retired and Don Shufro is the horse Andreas is riding. Teddy O'Connor was euthanized in May after a barn accident. Sorry for all the bad newss.
i wanna know that some people say that he will be riding Gredstedgaards Casmir? is it true? or is Don Shufro actually Gredstedgaards Casmir? like they are the same horse?
kalibarpr144: two different horses. Casmir was with the team, just in case, until the final flight to Hong Kong when Don Shufro was selected. Don Shufro is an experienced stallion, while, in dressage terms, Casmir is very young and still a little unstable.

@ 2:11: das ist das pferd, dass im buch finger inn der wunde zu sehen ist, im buch mahct es eine pseudapiaffe,...
und auf einem anderen bild in dem buch sieht man diese spferd im schritt, schweifschlagend,...
und wieder dieses pferd mit passageartigen bewegungen mit festgehaltenem rücken
und wie es beim turnier auskeilt und versucht das ungeheuer auf dem rücken loszuwerden
ist ja ein toller reiter!..................-.- kauft euch das buch..........

ahhh da weißt du aber gut bescheid du schlaumeier...so ein gelaber hab ich ja in meinen lebtag noch net gehört so was holes..wenn ein pferd mit dem schweif schlägt ist es ein zeichen von verspannung die schweifrübe ist teil der wirbelsäule und wenn die nicht locker ist das ganze pferd verspannt...geh mal in einen vortrag von dr.gerd heuschman dann kannst du erst mitreden

ach für rollkur is se zu jung? des is cool echt wenn sowas hab ich noch nie gehört wenn ein pferd nicht in der verfassung ist dann kann es auch nicht solche großen aufgaben machen!! und andreas helgstrand macht schlimme rollkur gränzt scha fast an akny so schlimm und wenn du denkst du kann hier a weng aufsprechen dann haste dich getäuscht du oberkluges dingle !einfach peinlich wie du ihr aufsprichts....

ohh mit welchen worten wirfst du denn um dich?? wie kannst du einen menschen nur so verurteilen wenn du ihn gar nicht kennst und man merkt das du keinen ahnung von pferden bzw das du sie verstehn kannst! und ich streite mich mit dir nicht rum weil wir wo gegen anky, helgstrand usw ..sind in der mehrzahl i-wann stehst du alleine da mit deiner meiunung so was wie diese leute machen nennt man tierquälerrei, weil warum ist sie denn so jung ? weil sie mit gewlat zum grand prix geprügelt wurde!!

DAS ist aufjedenfall keine Rollkur. Der weit angelehnte Hals ist nur einem sehr guten Training und Aufwärmübungen zu verdanken UND man kann es auch ohne jegliches Hilfsmittel hinbekommen, mit den richtigen Gewichtshilfen. Sieh erstmal genauer hin, ehe du dir ein solches Urteil erlaubst!

Das Pferd nickt sogar mim Kopf mit!
Die Kandare ist IMMER auf Anschlag!
Die maulspalte aller Pferde ist fast immer leicht geöffnet!
Die Nase gerät recht häufig hinter die senkrechte! Selbst wenn sie das ist dann ist die Nasenlinie genau in der Senkrechten, das die Nase mal leicht davor kommt(wie es sein sollte) sieht man gar nicht!
Ich habe schon meinen Grund für meine Meinung ;)

3:35 zeigt -in meinen Augen- dass er doch ein Mensch ist, der viel Sporeneinsatz zeigt.
So ein Hero ist er nicht. in meinen Augen. Der Schimmel war ein wirklich tolles Pferd, der ihn groß raus gebracht hat. Aber mein Favorit liegt da eher bei Balkenhol und den alten Reitmeistern.
Reiten ist Kunst, Gefühl, Verständnis und dient dem Pferd und dann somit dem Reiter.
Hier sieht es mir schnell auch nach Show aus.

I've always knew dressage was my kind of horse sport-and Andreas is such a good coach to his horse he is inspirational to dressage riders everywhere. You can see the partnership. All his horses lift their feet well and perform to a high standard and I respect him loads. Great job with the video aswell!

Hoffentlich werden die Richter in China sich nicht wieder von dem exaltierten Gestrampel blenden lassen. Fester Rücken, Nase hinter der Senkrechten, gebrochene Diagonalen, kurbelnder Schweif, Pseudo-Piaffen auf der Vorhand - hat das noch was mit klassischer Dressur zu tun? Die Dressur ist fürs Pferd da, um es geschmeidig und gesund zu halten - nicht das Pferd für die Dressur. Man lese Gerd Heuschmanns "Tug of War" und werde hoffentlich etwas schlauer...

Endlich mal jemand mit Pferdeverstand hier! "Die Dressur ist für das Pferd da, nicht das Pferd für die Dressur!" Wer sagte das gleich wieder? Nehmt euch das mal zu Herzen! Z.B. ist die Passage eine natürliche Bewegung des Pferds (Imponiergehabe), man muss doch nicht mit Sporen stochern etc um Passage zu zeigen, eine solide Grundausbildung täte das auch!

ssabmudu: Cavan is retired and Don Shufro is the horse Andreas is riding. Teddy O'Connor was euthanized in May after a barn accident. Sorry for all the bad newss.

i wanna know that some people say that he will be riding Gredstedgaards Casmir? is it true? or is Don Shufro actually Gredstedgaards Casmir? like they are the same horse?

kalibarpr144: two different horses. Casmir was with the team, just in case, until the final flight to Hong Kong when Don Shufro was selected. Don Shufro is an experienced stallion, while, in dressage terms, Casmir is very young and still a little unstable.
