  • OK, I see elsewhere the 2nd Op 70 is La Tragique Chevauchee, The Tragic Ride. Also that Et Pan... played here is alternately called Sad Pan--a possible reference to Debussy's tragic life...

  • Beautifully played! Am trying to understand the title and what meaning it may have to the music. The title doesn't make much sense in a raw translation into English (nor does the title of its companion piece La Tragique Chevauch). Are both pieces written to commemorate the death of Debussy?

  • @logoxyz

And Pan, in the bottom of the lunar's corns, leaned on one's elbow.... My english is not very good .. Do you accept it :) ?

Yes, five composers participated at this Tombeau de de Debussy (there are on my channel...) Thank's

  • Merci, thank you, Phillipe! My French is not very good...

I am looking for a biography (book) about the life of Florent Schmitt so I can better understand his music. He is a wonderful composer!

I will look at the the other four composers' work on Tombeau de Debussy that you have posted. Again, thank you!

  • @PhilippeLoTheEternal

Thanks a lot for your music.

You wrote that five composers participated but in fact there are ten : Dukas, Roussel, Malipiero, Goosens, Bartok, Schmitt, Strawinsky, Ravel, de Falla and Satie (but only six composed for piano solo) .

    Best regards

  • very good ! Wonderful played !
