The pyroglytic Graphite repells the small magnet while the bigger magnet further up attracts it. It would be pulled up and smash into the bigger magnet if it weren't for the graphite pushing it down. That is all there is to it.

Very cool man have you tryed setting it up all night and seem that its moved in the up and down axis over night to see this use lower block only and set lev high as possiable then leave over night as the sun goes behind the earth and the full effect of the noons gravity or inter action with earths magnetic feild.The lev magnet should rise upward to show this.
