Dozens of pro sports teams play home games outside of the cities they're named for. Anyone blowing noise about the "jersey giants" out their ass is a fucking idiot. By the way, the jets couldnt get the stadium they wanted in manhattan approved so they STILL play in Giants Stadium II, which would have been built with or without them.

@morrieswigs the jets were going to have their own stadium if u recall like in 2003 or 2004 near the atlantic yards but apperently the jets new stadium plans failed so thats why they r shareing the new one with the giants

@italiankilla58 from what I heard both teams own the stadium 50/50. whats funny is people still say the Giants should change their name to New Jersey Giants but even before that they played from 1974-1976 at the Yale Bowl in New Haven CT should they have been called the Connecticut Giants ?

@willisapril yeah i know when they 1st bulit the new stadium they werent sure what to name it b/c they didnt want to name it jets stadium and it wont be fair to the giants and vice versa with the name giants stadium and not being fair to the jets. so they deiced to call it "the new medowlands stadium" and well b/c since they play in new jersey. New jersey should be aloud to name the giants...The New jersey giants. and yeah they did and then they played in yankee stadium from 1976-1978. then NJ

I remember when my beloved 49ers went back there for the 86 play offs and just got crushed something like 46 to 3. Montana just about got killed that day from a hit buy Jim Burt that put him in the hospital. I will for ever link that shity day with Coach Parcels and good old Giant stadium and the old fashion astro turff, and the battles between the 80's and 90's 49ERS and Giants. Those were some great games !!!

Thanks Giants Stadium for many great times I had during Bruce Springsteen concerts,,,Drove to Jersey from Buffalo for many Springsteen shows...Can't wait until Bruce christens the new stadium !!

Local laws prohibit explosives for demolition, instead they have to dismantle it piece by piece. It's the same for Shea Stadium and the old Yankee Stadium.
