Hey! I'm doing the NaNoWriMo this year(first time), and I have some questions. Does the page size matter, like 8'' x 11'' or 4'' x6''. And does the book we write get published when we're done?
@teengurls100 The only thing that matters is word count. And it will not get published through NaNoWriMo, it's your job to revise revise revise revise revise revise find someone who will publish your book PUBLISH!
I'm not doing NaNoWriMo but I am currently trying to wade my way through the murky waters of novelbigbang and this video has been extremely helpful. Thank you very much for the advice :)
I don't have time for NaNoWriMo as I'm already writing several short stories for my classes but.. these are great tips! Especially the reading and exposing yourself to other styles and genres.
I just wanted to add that a good time to write might be early in the morning, especially for anyone doing it that has a busy daily schedule. If you write for an hour or so in the morning you're not too burdened by your long day yet and it can be less overwhelming that way. Good luck everyone!
Black Book Tactic: Get a small notebook to carry around and jot down ideas whenever the inspiration hits. That way you won't forget them when you actually get back to writing.
A trick I learned when screenwriting: even if you have an idea you think might be stupid, tell yourself "yes, and?" and keep building on it. You might end up with something excellent.
I was considering NaNo, but didn't like the idea of being tied down to a website to do it. So after I finish writing my play, I'm just going to do this myself. I've discovered recently that I really have ideas that suit novels/novella more than they do scripts, and if I do write them as books, if they sell, or I sell the idea for adaptation, it becomes a means to an end.

I'm thinking of doing NaNoWriMo, because I have a plot that's okay. I would love if you would read it when it's finished Sam!

Words of wisdom from the professional herself.
I don't even write poetry or plan on being a writer, but it's always good to know some things, just in case.

@Sickopath333 National Novel Writing Month, which is basically writing a novel in a month.

@Sickopath333 National Novel Writing Month. You write 1,667+ words a day, or more, but it must be 50,000 words by the end of November

My NaNoWriMo tip: Have someone who will read your content every day. The extra motivation is the only thing that got me through last year.
