Well, we obviously don't need The Bible. But, there does need to be some laws in place, cuz you're right, everyone did whatever they wanted, without consequenses, then of course bad things would happen.
@wood9670 Morality existed long before the Bible, and part of the constitution is there specificaly to protect people from having the Bible forced upon people (1st amendment). The later we need, the former, not so much.

No marriage gay or straight is taught in public schools in California. Prop 8 had NOTHING to do with education or children. The reason the teachers union got involved is that it is in their mission statement to protect civil rights. Civil unions do not have the exact same rights as marriage. My child came home yesterday drew and asked for MORE money for her school....tell me,what that MILLION dollars well spent? How did that help our children? How did it help our schools? The money from the teachers union belongs to teachers because it came from teachers. It does NOT belong to kids. Our tax money that goes to schools is what belongs to kids. If teachers want to put their own money to fight for civil rights that is their right.
