  • Couldn't the supporters of Prop 8 years ago just stick to the whole "Marriage = 1 man 1 woman due to my religious beliefs" argument?

  • Yeah, my point is that no matter what laws, whether they be moral or civil, we institutionalize their will always be ppl offended or simply opposed by them.

Ppl arguing that since a doc. is "x" # of years old it should not be looked to for guidance are guilty of the prejudice of "PRESENTISM". Wiki it if anyone does not know what that is.

Age of a doc. does not age its teachings.

  • What's next on the will of the people? Maybe they will decide to put before the voters on another ballot initiative seeking to enshrine on the constitution the real and traditional meaning of christianity [fill here with your thoughts on the consequences of such approach]...

  • no, but I'm sure the gay/lesbian activists are working on a doozy of a bill. Should be exciting to see how everything works out. Maybe if both sides take a step back and see what type of compromise can be made, it wouldnt be so ugly, and maybe just maybe everyone would be happy with that choice.

  • Anyone with a grain of intelligence can see that all the arguments against gay marriage are pure simply bigotry.

  • that means that 52% of Californian's are unintelligent.hmmm..and what of the other states that disagree as well. They must be stupid too?

  • Ignorant, but not stupid. Well, I suppose some probably are stupid. It's all religion's fault.

  • lol..well, I guess religion (with having morality and all) can be blamed for the sanctity of marraige. So yes, it is all religion's fault... and of course the followers of such religions.

  • I have more morals than most religious people. I recognize what's wrong and what's right without having a 2,000 year old book tell me.

  • I wasnt trying to say that you couldnt recognize right from wrong if you didnt read the Bible. PLENTY of people dont read and know right from wrong. I think that's something we are born with. :o) If I had never known the Bible or any religion, than I can totally see where you are coming from and how people use the word "religion" to do many horrible things. (*those people are usually in it for power...and me being Christian believe that those that do harm in the name of God, will wish they hadnt

  • yeah, who needs the Bible or the Constitution. Let every man decided what is right on his own...Won't lead to any problems at all

  • Well, we obviously don't need The Bible. But, there does need to be some laws in place, cuz you're right, everyone did whatever they wanted, without consequenses, then of course bad things would happen.

  • @wood9670 Morality existed long before the Bible, and part of the constitution is there specificaly to protect people from having the Bible forced upon people (1st amendment). The later we need, the former, not so much.

  • @whiteowl1415, My have I grown. I am sorry for my comment 2 years ago. It was made when I was still a Catholic & a statist. I am a voluntaryist now and I no longer view either the Bible or the Constitution

as having any legitimate authority over me or anyone.

Although I still oppose gay marriage [I oppose all state licensing & regulation on voluntary associations], & your support for the legitimacy of the US Constitution; do know that I sympathize when the queer community and their struggle.

  • @wood9670 Your opinion is your right, but I am glad to hear it has broadened. Please don't mistake me for endorsing gov authority by the Constitution reference. In an ideal world we could self govern, I mearly point out that, this not being a Utopian society, we are in need of something like the Constitution to limit abuses that could be imposed on the people. I hope humans can some day do what is right simply because its the right thing to do and don't need such documents.

  • Yes, religion with its morality can be blamed for the Inquisition and the European wars of religion, when Catholics would burn Protestants and Protestants would retaliate in kind. Good think all of them thought of themselves as moral.

  • Enough is enough! Only the facts will answer everyone's questions and opinions. Please view the facts at: .com/watch?v=4JZIJnJWZBQ

  • haha. she fails hah. because empirical evidence, only HATE and FEAR!

    VOTE NO ON PROP 8!

  • what does this have to do with LDS people? LOL this is about a woman who isnt good at speaking, and talking about elderly people and marraige...weird. Prop 8 is NOT only about children. It is about children when the State ScHool Assoc. wants to teach them moral issues though. AND...when children will be taught about same sex in "sex ed" classes. (nd not giving parents an opt-out choice)I thought that same sex couples still had all of their rights. What exactly is being taken away?

  • No marriage gay or straight is taught in public schools in California. Prop 8 had NOTHING to do with education or children. The reason the teachers union got involved is that it is in their mission statement to protect civil rights. Civil unions do not have the exact same rights as marriage. Even if it did, seperate but equal is NOT equal.

  • My child came home yesterday drew and asked for MORE money for her school....tell me,what that MILLION dollars well spent? How did that help our children? How did it help our schools? Did it bring in Art, Music, ANYTHING AT ALL? sickening..who exactly are they thinking of anyway? oh yeah....THEIR AGENDA. Let's not kid ourselves.

  • The money from the teachers union belongs to teachers because it came from teachers. It does NOT belong to kids. Our tax money that goes to schools is what belongs to kids. If teachers want to put their own money to fight for civil rights that is their right.

  • well, since MOST of the teachers at our school voted YES on 8....who exatcly voted on how ALL of the teachers money would be used? Even our principal said that they were NEVER informed and NEVER asked to vote on such a thing. Interesting though that the CTA would use EVERY TEACHERS money for a political campaign instead of on their MAIN interest... THE FREAKIN SCHOOLS

  • oh, I wish I could have seen more!!!!!!! i agree that these people are disgusting! NO ON PROP 8!!!

  • Wow. Disgusting. The LDS has no excuse for this bullshit.

  • Ha-- this video just caught them in one of their lies.

She had no excuse for her bigotry.

It's not about the children -- it's about hatred of homosexuals.
