@92451721921892113 - most of the stuff they say in "what the bleep do we know" are from valid experiments performed at particle accelerator laboratories such as CERN. all of the experiments these "loonies" speak about are verified and have been repeated numerous times.. to say the quantum sciences are loony makes about as much sense as saying mathematics and Newtonian science is also loony. So, I work in a cognitive science lab and I have to say that this entire clip gives a horribly misguided view of how consciousness works. Everyone seems trapped by the notion of the "Cartesian Theater" -- the place in the brain where consciousness "happens", as if the neurological reactions to stimuli are somehow separate from and under the control of our conscious selves. In reality, there is no such place in the brain. We ARE our nuerology; we are not CAUSED by it.

Secondly, it is demonstrably false that "there is a chemical that matches every emotional state that we experience," to quote from the first "expert." In reality, neuro-peptides only come in a select number of flavors. These can all be mixed and matched to activate different neural networks in different areas of the brain that correspond to (but not cause) different states of consciousness. There is no 1:1 ration, however of chemical to emotion.

Lastly, it is incredibly misleading to portray neurons as tiny homunculi, each with his or her own thoughts, emotions and "bio-chemical needs."
