@wwf17 It was two 4.6L V8's from the Lincoln Mark VIII put together with two cylinders chopped off each engine. It was never going to sound exotic, unfortunately. :-(

What I'm saying, is that the GT90 can go faster than 40 mph. Like I said, it's a one-of-a-kind car, and Ford didn't want the car damaged, so they governed it to 40 mph. However, I think the top speed of 40 and sluggish handling are down to the fact its a concept car; the turbos were connected, but built up heat easily and going fast meant it could burn the car, so Ford thought it safe to go 40. And the tyres were display tyres only, and the tread was amde to spell "GT90" in a stylised font, which meant they had no real traction on them.
@INEEDNAWZZZ I agree. Plus, how good can a car perform when it took only 6 months to make it and had parts scavenged from other cars? IMO if Ford had put any REAL effort into this car, they would've had something incredible.

IIRC, the 250mph speed was hypothetical. The car was a one off design exercise built from cannibalised parts in a few months. There was no way it could be tested at the limit of the (theoretical) performance envelope. Heat issues aside, the engine would probably have failed if run under stress with all the turbos connected. A beautiful design exercise, but not a supercar.
@arcturus11 you really seem to have no idea about this car and since you have never drove it, you dont. not anything that shines is gold. translating what jeremy said the car handled horribly(i can see you spinning out of control on the first corner) and the 40 miles top speed joke was about the engine and how problematic it could get if stressed. as for the soul and child........no comment
@R3T4RDABL3 No one was allowed to drive it over 40 because the tires were hand made and said "GT90" on the tread. They were show pieces, not real performance tires which also explains the "cartoonish" handling. Aditionally, the 4 turbos were disconnected if the engine was going to be running any longer than a few minutes because the heat would melt parts of the car and potentially set the body work on fire. This limited the hp output to 436 hp.
The thing is, they developed a engine much more powerfull for this car, they actually were going to sell it. But for unknown motives they only built one car with this kind of engine. Sad!
Unfortunately, i saw the rest of the clip, and this is all they showed of the GT90 :( after the end of this short clip, they focused on the Gt40. And unfortunately this is the first video footage ive seen of the GT90 being driven.
