Our 5 year old newfie is a girl and she rarely ever drools. Someone once told me the girls tend to drool less than the boys, which from my limited experience seems to be the case as we know a family with a boy newfie who drools constantly.

I have a newfie, and he is an EXCELLENT family dog, he is soooo loving and so gentle. he is very friendly towards people and other dogs. only thing is he doesnt like swimming a lot, like people say they do. but when he does wim, he swims really fast! Overall a VERY loveable, sweet natured dog. i love mine to peices.
I simply love these wonderful dogs! I want to have one of my own when I get my own place and have the time for mine. I want to have a Landseer type female and name her Nana, just like the one in Peter Pan! My heart warms up and my excitement soars when I see anything about these beautiful creatures~!

@wenenen That's like labeling a state wrong and saying "they're all part of the USA no need to nitpick" Yes there is, it's wrong. I have never heard Labrador referred to as Newfoundland. When I think of NFLD I think of the Island. And seeing as how my comment is the top one, most would seem to agree.

@wenenen When I wrote that comment it was one of the top ones. My argument wasn't that the mainland wasn't called Labrador, it's that the island wasn't labeled as Newfoundland. And I'm not pissy, I'm just trying to make a point. It seems you're just a little late on when this conversation was happening :l

Newfoundland is the ISLAND next to Labrador..the most easterly in Canada.

@kristinanorthcott LOLOMG, I noticed that too, although I think they're just generalizing where Newfoundland is. Like, I know that's where Labrador is, but when you write out "Newfoundland & Labrador", you usually write it on Labrador's location.

@MrRobertSama trust me i know regional accents, i was not writing noofeunland for your accent, infact ignore that last comment. i live in the 2nd biggest country in the world, there are tons of different accents in my province of New Brunswick alone its crazy, french to irish, to maritimes, to anything, even 10 minutes down the road in gagetown they talk more like texans then anything. But maybe the newfies you are familiar with are from the north east part of newfoundland?

lol when they show you where newfoundland is on a map, they're actually putting it over labrador. The province is called "newfoundland and labrador" but they're two separate areas!

gosh, dogs are so cool. there are SO many kinds and are a blast to learn about! they are probably the best pet, hands down. if you get the right breed, they will love you till the end of time and are SO MUCH FUN to play with! i will love them for ever!

HAHAHA, I love how the narrator is totally mispronouncing "Newfoundland" and then labels 'Labrador' as being "Newfoundland". Newfoundland is an island! ...but anyway, I'm hoping the information about the dog is correct! Looking for a friend for my year old golden. :)

@xzadious I'm afraid not! ...He's making the mistake that curtmang pointed out. There's no "lind" on the end of the name, it's "land." Living in Newfoundland would kinda help me with the pronunciation of it I would think! :)

The narrator pronounces 'Newfoundland' wrong. And on the map, they put 'Newfoundland' on Labrador. That's not Newfoundland. Newfoundland is an island.
