wonderful piece. Locatelli is unfortunately not well known . He was a great master of the Milan's instumental school, together with the brothers Sammartini. Thank you Harmonico
The "Milan's instrumental school"? I don't know... but he's VERY well known to violinists, musicians and scholars, and - for what I know - to the general music lovers, although not as much as Vivaldi. I lived in Bergamo for 13 years, where he, Grossi, Legrenzi and Donizetti were all born. :-) His "capricci" from his violin concertos are the precursors of Paganini's
What a lovely fanfare in the beginning. Locatelli is truly a wonderful composer who teeters elegantly on the bridge between Baroque and Classical style.
Perhaps a bit of his L'arte del Violino in the future...? No. 2 in C minor is absolutely splendid.
Ton Koopman est un magicien du son absolument parfait.Merci.

AAAh - what superb melodies and so expertly played also. Every time when I see Ton Koopman mentioned it seems to be a guarantee for quality.
Hope one day he will come to Australia and perform here !!!

Oh, I'm sorry. I got mixed up. G minor is the minor key concerto from the set I have uploaded. I can try and upload the c minor if you want.
