  • Yes they did. The Germans even had miniature remote control tanks on the beaches in Normandy.

  • Can anyone tell me what that is at 2.56?? They had pocketbikes in WW2 already??

  • @griffonsa It's called a WELBIKE, originally made for the SOE but was used by the British 1st and 6th airbourne in WW2. Only 3641 were made.

  • @azazel87 You're right!! Just googled that! Very interesting and cute!

    Thank you for the info!

  • Might Germany one day be ruled by a man nicknamed "Mac" who got married in a kilt and whose Scottish father first arrived in the country to fight the Nazis?

    I think so!!!

  • Time Changes<. David James "Mac" McAllister (born 12 January 1971) is a German politician of the conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU). David McAllister holds both German and British citizenship, although he has stated that he's "more or less completely German. On 4 June 2010, he was designated by his party to succeed Christian Wulff as Minister-President of Lower Saxony,

  • It was a stalemate..not a defeat..look it up. The Americans secured there positions while the Brits fought dearly for Arnhem and couldn't hold it

  • truely brave men!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If Germany would have reacted as swiftly in 1944 instead of stalling due to inefficient command structure the Normandy invasion would have failed just as spectacularly. Get over the nitpicking and see the larger picture, wars aren't won by pussyfooting around.

  • Market Garden if it was successful would have shortened the war by 2 years and ensured the russians didnt get their greasy hands on Germany. It was a gamble from the start, everyone knew it, but it was worth the risk. If we had todays modern intelligence gathering it would never have happened, they had no idea of the amount of opposition that was there.

  • Remarkable. Great job

  • I served with Patton from 44 to the end of the war. I disliked the man along with everyone else, but we have to this day the highest respect for him. He did care about his men. I can assure you. I lost my brother during Market Garden, under Gavin, 82nd 504th. I have no respect for Monty. Rommel a brillant tactician, worked for the Nazi's and lost. I spent hard times against his troops in the hedgerowsof france, germany, and I hope he doesn't get respect for being the facist enemy.

  • The reason(s) why Operation Market Garden failed was b/c F.M. Montgomery wanted to beat Patton, it was a Bridge too far 63 miles, it was a single highway terrain wasn't suitable for tanks, also British command didn't cooperate with American Paratroops, and it was a plan too rushed.

  • Operation Market Garden? = Operation FAIL

but americans always find a way to glorify anything^^

  • My great uncle was in 2nd Para Battalion at the bridge

a shame they had to surrender , after all no ammunition left

against panzers . After the war he returned to pay respect.

  • My father was in the 1st Airborne at Arnhem, captured and spent the remainder of the war in Stalag XIIa as a POW.

    Thank you for this video.

  • the reason market garden failed was because of the British armor that did not go because froward cause it had to wait for more British infantry

  • The poor bastard has no idea, it wouldnt have matter how many numbers you have when the enemy is dug in like they were and having 2 ss panzer divisions plus the rest waiting................ A large army is always disorderly

    - Euripides

In war, numbers alone confer no advantage. Do not advance relying on sheer

    military power

  • Patton would have done better with Market Garden for the simple fact that the Americans could afford more causaulties overall then the british. Throughout the war england was always chronically short of manpower, especially in the officer corps. An example would be the burma theater of operations where the british general bill slims did wonders with extreamly limited manpower and lack of adequate replacements.

  • I whole heartedily disagree. Having Patton in commad of MG would have made no difference whatsoever. The reasons for failure are well documented. IE Intel re Bittrichs SS Panzer Div ignored, the road which XXX Corps armour had to advance up as a SINGLE carriageway. Repeated ambushes & fighting on route against Wehrmacht & SS troops delayed XXX Corps. The Para's who landed near Arnhem were too far away from the objective. The designated resupply drop zones were over run by Fritz. Patton? My arse!

  • its sad beacuse allied forgot about polish soldiers

  • A real fitting tribute to truly brave men !

Iost a great -uncle aged 19 called FREDDY SMITH of The Border Reg 1st Air Landing Brigade .Fred was from Liverpool as were quite a few of his comrades from 1ST Airborne LEST WE FORGET THEM ALL !!!!

  • Every tuesday of each week, three or four Arnhem vets attend the RAF Cosford museum & speak to the public. One of them was a platoon cmdr with the KOSB's at Arnhem. He is 94 yrs old & very spritely-he was captured by the SS Panzer grenadiers when his platoon ran out of ammo. Two of the other gents are ex-glider pilot regt lads. They are superb men & it was a priviledge to speak to them & shake hands with them. LEST WE FORGET!

  • There where norwegian also fighting there.. But they served under U.S army. But i think we all can agree of one thing.. no matter where they come from they did a damn good job. This is what my grandpha told med just before he died.

  • Yes, my grandfather was at Operation Market Garden. He served under Basil Tarrant(Oxford and Bucks Infantry), the father of celebrity Chris Tarrant.

He said the SS troops were the real deal, real fanatics. Basic of rules of war, "keep your head down."

  • Hi Azazel87!

Very nice tribute, thanks for sharing.

I have to make one comment: you forgot to mention that the polishg also fought in operation market garden. Or am I mistaken...

    Thanks!

  • nope was just at the cemetary in Oosterbeek, and the poles are buried around the edges the british in the middle, only counted maybe 100 Polish graves to 900+ British

  • Remembering all the fallen of Operation Market Garden, especially Private Tom Gould age 20 KIA 21/09/44

    R.I.P

  • Montys failed operation to end the war before Christmas. Actually prolonged the war another 6 months. patton would have done much better and may have suceeded with better results. Eisenhower the clerk made a mistake in aproving the operation.

  • The English "choose" to ignore some rather important intelligence provided by the Dutch resistance: the presence of the German tank corps near Arnhem for instance... Eisenhower was appointed 'Supreme Allied Commander" and scored on D-Day. Now, Monty wanted 'his' D-Day, in the shape and form of 'Operation Market Garden'. Painful for all the soldiers who died because of his ignorance...

  • Monty messed up, but to put it all on Monty though marks a failure to completely examine the situation. XXX Corps should have been getting petrol to keep the tanks pushing, but the competition with Patton prevented that.

Also, had the entire British 1st Airborne been dropped at once, a lot more red devils would have gotten to Arnhem Bridge than John Frost's guys, but instead for some reason we had to use the planes to make sure the entire U.S. 101st Airborne dropped.

  • Cretin. D-Day WAS Montgomery's plan and Montgomery's achievement. he was its land commander, solely responsible for expanding it from Eisenhower's three divisions to the five that actually suceeded.

  • By the way, Tedder commanded the air and Ramsay commanded the sea. Two beaches were hit by Americans, two by the British, one by the Canadians. The breakout only happened because Montgomery tied down Panzer regiments at Caen. The logistics happened because of the British Mulberry Harbours. Since this video is a tribute to the airborne, setting aside what Frost achieved at Arnhem, the whole of D-Day stood or fell by what the Ox/Bucks achieved at Pegasus Bridge.

  • Correct. Again, I have had this argument with numerous Americans. They do not appear to have the faintest grasp of the allied strategy in Normandy. The British, Canadians & Poles had th job of tying down the bulk of the German armoured formations eg 1st SS Panzer Corps, Panzer Lehr etc etc. This was done by maintaining constant pressure on the German lines by offensive action. As such, the Brits, Canadians & Poles fought the cream of the German forces, the US patently did not!

  • Correct! I have had this argument with ignorant Americans on numerous occasions. They simply will not accept that Monty was responsible for planning D-Day, along with British General Morgan. Monty was the ground cmdr during D-Day and for several mths afterwards. I really do wonder what type of education system they have in the states! You are correct about the original 3 bridgehead plan too. Monty scrutinised it & said a resounding 'NO' it it. He expanded it to five bridgeheads.

  • Honestly, American's should be banned from commenting on history - they have none, and my god it shows. Half-wits like you defile the memory of the magnificent British, polish AND US soldiery that fought so bravely at the Rhine those 9 days.

  • First: I am not an American;

    Secondly: I am not a half-wit;

    Thirdly: I defile nothing;

    Fourthly: You and me both were never there;

Finally: You don't have to agree with what I say, but please... grow up and comment properly.

  • Comment removed

  • Right- that is YOUR opinion. Now qualify that with EVIDENCE. How & why would Patton have done 'better?' Where is your proof? You cannot predict how Patton would have done- there are NO certainties in war. Have you never studied General Von Molke's statement?!

" NO PLAN SURVIVES CONTACT WITH THE ENEMY!"

  • I am still waiting for you to quantify your comment with evidence that Patton 'would have done much better.' Please feel at liberty to back your comment up anytime you like......

  • SCHRUBBE1966

patton was a racist, an arrogant men that cared nothing about his men, only his own glory was important.

    once he said

"let the germans push back the british to dunkirk again."

this is not how you treat an ally.

monty could be to much slow, but he was not like him, both were not the ww2 best generals.

Rommel,Slim and Nimitz were the best.

  • Monty was too arrogant, for example in the battle of bulge, he wanted to take the credit for the Allies victory. And Monty didn't have merit in this victory.

Between all generals and field marshalls, probably Rommel was the best.

    His men did miracles.

Generally, I think the betters generals were the Germans. A very good generation.

The worsts were the russians, because they despised the human life.

  • @mamonycabron yeah, but he did a damn better job than you ever would buddy.

  • Wtf? American British and POLISH troops remember omg

  • very nice vid!!

I have read a lot of books about Market Garden, and the SS were having a lot of respect for the red devils. At the end, fighting with bare hand against well equiped elite forces, but nog giving up!

  • "they're such fighters . . if they can only get the stuff to fight with . . its a shame when they cant get the stuff to fight with . . ."

    Good job.

    From a Canadian.

  • Excellant...good clips,and music choice...very good job indeed....

  • EXCELLENT JOB!!!! Great photos, superb music from the movie "A BRIDGE TOO FAR", and narration too!!! DEFINATELY A QUALITY VIDEO!!!!!

  • thoughs brits have heart.. they put up a great fight..Unfortunatley all thoughs troops would die for nothing

  • ww2 is awesome if i can i'd go back in time and fight in it even though im only 13

  • you`d say the opposite if u were there

  • he probably shit himself, even German Stalingrad veterans said it was a more terrifying fight than in Stalingrad...

  • your dont know what u say u probably shit in ur pants my great uncle tought that 2 that it was fun until he got in the hell of stallingrad then youl cry for your parents when your freezing and the bullets and tanks are shooting at ye

  • You STUPID little boy! There is NO glory in war, only DEATH/ I suggest you go an visit the cemetaries in France before you make such innane, stupid & insensitive comments. It's not like your stupid Playstation Game- you stop a burst from an MG42 and that's it- lights out! You need a good slap for your moronic comment.

  • In Operation Market-Garden fight the POLISH 1st INDEPENDENT PARACHUTE BRIGADE

  • good thing the Brits were on our side!

  • A mind reading sumwhere that a Waffen SS officer said this about the Paras at arnhem "Not a mummies boy among them"...think that sums up my views on the men who fought and died at Arnhem.

  • He wasn't an SS officer, he was a German Fallschirmjager who also fought the British in Crete. He was on a BBC Timewatch docmentary about airborne forces. He said:- "THE BRITISH SOLDIERS WE FOUGHT AT ARNHEM WERE THE SAME HARD BITTEN PROFESSIONALS WE HAD BEEN FIGHTING FOR FIVE YEARS. THOSE BRITISH PARATROOPERS AT ARNHEM, THERE WASN'T A SINGLE MOTHER'S BOT AMONGST THEM!"

  • Not only British and American also Polish 1st under Gen. Sosabowski were there. Don't forgot about that

  • Indeed, the Poles were excellent soldiers & airmen & their efforts will be remembered by British people. Respect to the Polish Para's!

  • Indeed, the Poles where most definitely there & they not been forgotten for their bravery. Sosabowski is well known & respected. The Poles have much to be of for the way their soldiers & airmen fought in WW2. RESPECT FROM BRITAIN!

  • @Szklany04 The fighting Polish were there!

  • THANKYOU

  • the allies didnt win this operation....jerk...

  • Thank God the allies won

    nazis byte me....lol :) jajajajaja

  • montgomery's fiasco...ahhh well...mediocre general...mediocre battle plan...

American 82nd or 101st would have fared better, methinks...

  • piss of wuld u hav u wuldnt n had the same spirit as the 1st airborne division u barely took nijmegen. thy held out for jst as long as the airborne in nijmegen without XXX corps support. also in eindhoven the entire advance was slowed becos the 101st ddnt capture the zon bridge intact

  • the 1st airbourne division did their job

in fact they went beyond that,

so what ur saying doesnt make sense.

  • Oh but of course they would wouldn't they? Afterall, you Yanks did win WW2 all by yourselves didn't you?! Hahaha! What a hoot! The Germans generally express a very high regard for the fighting qualities of the British, however, they are not so polite about the Americans IE they have little respect for American soldiery.

  • AMAZING FOOTAGE AND PICTURES DUDE!

  • long live the german brave soldier in the 2 world war.the best warrior in the world

  • NAZI PRICK

  • nice work!!

I really love the music of medal of honour you used.what tittle does the song called?

  • Great video !!

A bridge too far, yeah, I have seen it. Cool movie,,

Hey, who's sound is that ? Reporter war ?

  • My Grandfather played an allied officer in that movie, in just one scene, but he did play in the movie lol, He rather wanted to be an German officer though lol

  • Don't worry! Great Britain IS a NATION; perhaps the MOST ANCIENT AND GLORIOUS IN THE WORLD. You have great qualities as a People, YOU ARE A PEOPLE, Italians seem to be "57 Milions of INDEPENDENT STATES" ;)

You are civil, more disciplined, patriotic, you have fair play in the sports and don't love the "tricks" and dishonesty. I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU. But I'M ITALIAN: AND I WANT TO REMAIN THAT. My country BADLY NEED TO TAKE INSPIRATION FROM YOU -but STILL, ITALY IS ITALY.

  • Thanks for that-we are all deeply moved.....NOT lol G-O A-W-A-Y!!

  • Be Sure! :) Of course you do not belong to the "Gentlemen Race", but this I had understood.

  • Thanks for that! :) Another 'amazing' contribution from DEN365....NOT.

  • Den365 just like i thought you are envious. And if my English is all you have to argue about then you have totally lost the grip on the debate. I am a working man and know enough English for you to understand, and thats all you have to be concerned about. Go and enjoy the film Den365 you can pretend you are one of the Guards with michael caines armoured division. Enjoy.

  • Look my friend trust me I can speak reasonably with you, but with mr. Liverpool... etc NOT. He started offending me from the beginning with old "Southern-Italians-stereothipe" insults. Excuse me deeply of course I work too but probably you're right I pass too much time upon these subjects. Who cares? RULE BRITANNIA FOREVER! Stay well and be sure ONLY ADMIRATION FOR BRITISH GENTLEMEN (I know you aren't gays).

  • PS There were also Italians COMSUBIN and COLMOSCHIN with the SBS. They aren't "shaken".

PS PS I don't like very much Sophia Loren, too "Southern" and Pietro Mennea is old. WE HAVE STEFANO BALDINI in the athletics! And please don't talk of "Mafia", I don't live in Mafia-regions. Bye.

  • Den365 Thankyou you have restored my faith in things italian. Your right pietro is old but he was an olympic champion, baldini i do not know so much but will keep my eyes open for him in the future. You dont like sophie loren Den365??? Oh well maybe there is an alternative. O.K i offer a cup of English tea, or a warm beer, or maybe some italian wine in peace and harmony with my fellow human been. Very good take care bye.

  • Actually DEN365-you are a damn liar! You sent me an email wrongly assuming I was a Scot. In that email you made highly offensive remarks about the English. You started it, I'll finish it son. Behaviour breeds behaviour...

  • Stop, BEAST, I said I detest the English, I was exaggerating, I DETEST ONLY LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH AND THOSE OF YOUR "KIND". Ok? Return to the Pub, there's someone waiting to give you a fist :)

  • No you didn't-you stated words to the effect that you 'detest the English bastards,' don't deny it you Surrender Monkey!

  • You're REVENGEFUL, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I SAID AND I REPEAT: British People have many qualities but also MANY SHAMEFUL HOOLIGANS DRUNK OF NATIONALISM for which the stick or the prison are the only "medical care". Bye Scouser!

  • But Give Up!

  • What is, a "MAFIA-style menace"? What do you want to add, Scouser? You've lost on ALL LINE and you can "win" only with 1) Calling again the "Moderators" (tricky and cowardly behaviour of a person who has nothing to say) or 2) Beginning again to call me -what? Wop? Greasy? Coward? Etc. etc.

  • Debate and discussion is good, and we are allowed to be passionate about these things. It is a thing that should allways be remembred. O.K. may mount etna stay calm and serene, and good health to you. Now for some neapoliton ice cream.

  • Stoop! I send you a message of Peace -STOP!

  • No mate, there is a perfect part that DEN365 could play in the film. Remember the German Panzergrenadier with THE WHITE FLAG?! lol

  • You feel cheated that italions were not in this film, i am right am i not? Come on be honest. Some how captain correlis mandelen just doesnt seem to cut it does it my dear fellow. You want to be marching through europe as one of the rescuers been loved by the ladies, and marching in full kit to john addisons theme. But it didnt happen did it mate? Aww my arse is bleeding.

  • No. I just found the first video to mock you. By the way, start learning better your "language", illiterate, it is "Military" not "militery". Please tell me "a lot more Great Britain" did, I don't remember, WHAT? Perhaps the GENOCIDES? Frankly I don't remember -Italy, France, Germany and THE REST OF THE WORLD HAS NOT GIVEN "SOMETHING" TO HUMANITY? Go to bed, English.

  • Den365 there is a lot more to Great britain than that, but let me tell you old son i think your very envious of the British. Not just our traditions,History, and our militery. Yes militery. But put that to the side for a minute, you like this film dont you? You are inspired by this film. You love John Addisons music, British by the way. Sir richard attenbroughs directing, and many british actors as well in this film.

  • BtW are you sure an ITALIAN -read well- I T A L I A N - ENVIES YOU? What, Prince Charles? Camilla Parker-Bowles? Manchester United? The Roastbeef? The "warm Beer"? The Beatles? The Queens? Sean Connery? The Rover Cars? What? Being honest, I envy the 2 things I've said -I frankly don't care if English is the "language of the World", this is merit of USA not Britain (French was the "universal language in Europe during WW2, WHEN THE BRITISH EMPIRE EXISTED).

  • HOW MANY ITALO-BRITISH ARE IN UK? HOW MANY ANGLOs ARE LIVING IN ITALY -such as Tuscany for example? Italians emigrated (Southeners MUCH MORE) massively everywhere BUT NOT IN GREAT BRITAIN -STILL GREAT BRITAIN CALLED HERSELF THE "FIRST POWER" IN THE WORLD! FUNNY NOT?

  • Remember I AM ITALIAN. Do I have to "envy your Military History" when I have the ROMANS (ok, a bit far) BEHIND ME? I care nothing of your military victories/failures, I only amuse myself in speaking with you because I ADMIRE YOUR OVERSIZED EGO :)

  • I do not have an oversized ego, that is unfair to give us that tag. And incidentlly in Iraq 2 weeks ago an Italian T.V. crew were kidnapped by terroists. Guess who rescued them? British led Italion forces in and rescued them unhurt to return safetly to their familys. So show some respect and civility and you will receive the same back. cappeche old bean.

  • The Romans? I seem to remember a roman legion dissapearing in York, and kilted beasts at the borders destroyed your mighty legion, and now you have sophie loren (mmm that is not such a bad thing) pietro mennea, Raf vallone, the murderous mafia, man made invention called the pope and now we have Den365 a legend in pony. How lucky and rich the world is for having you, enjoy your pasta fellah.

  • Quality post mate! I like it! :) lol

  • If I have respect, and I HAVE, for Great Britain and for her history, is not for your bombastic auto-referential "Mega Prowess" at War :), but for two things, sufficient to acquire IMMORTAL STATUS for Great Britain:

    1) The tradition of Civil Rights and Freedom of Thought, Speech and Press of your Ancient Parliamentarian country (but "only for the British");

    2) The First, True, Industrial Revolution and Capitalistic society, with all defects and injustices of such a society.

  • What can I expect from one whose "Great Military Knowledge" contains TRUE PEARLS OF WISDOM like statements of the kind "Germans had ZERO RESPECT for the American Soldiers (and for the ITALIANS, and for the FRENCH... for Everyone except the British? Go to ask the First German you meet if he feels "DEFEATED BY THE BRITISH ARMY IN THE SECOND WORLD WAR": No, please, don't do it, I don't want another person with INFARCT! :)

  • Or another (Monty Python of course cannot be better :)

"In the Battle of the Bulge Germans decided to attack the sector of the Ardennes BECAUSE IT WAS DEFENDED BY AMERICAN TROOPS": HA HA so at Bastogne the Americans surrendered quickly? So PATTON III ARMY DID CHANGE NATIONALITY AND BECAME BRITISH? Lol Your arrogance is well-explained and epithomized by your "exceptional" Marshal Monty claiming that the Bulge was a "victory for British Arms": 1.600 British causualties against 89.987 Americans!

  • Ah, excuse me, I knew it already -it's sufficient there is ONE British soldier in any theatre of War with 1.000.000 Allied behind him, to say that "BRITISH WERE LEADING" :)

    GORGEOUS!

  • No Italian "Industrial production" except "Shoes and FIAT (Fix It Again Tony?) Cars" (and the rest of cars, motos etc.?): obviously, you've not ever heard of Italian WEAPONS -Beretta, sounds nothing to your deaf hears? You know that the American Police&Army still use Beretta FS 98 Pistols? Ah, never heard of Agusta-Westland Helicopters? 50% Italian, 50% British... Just a small quote -WHAT DO YOU BRITS VAUNT? Having "bought the GERMAN HECKLER & KOCH"? I'm not surprised...

  • Sorry, Agusta-Westland today is ITALIAN Finmeccanica held. Go to see who will give the next "personal helicopter" to the United States of America President....

  • What has done the "MORAL TEACHER BRITISH GOVERNMENT" after FIRST WORLD WAR, in the Treaty of Versailles, when the French wished to HUMILIATE THE GERMANS, Wilson (President USA) in vain tried to solve the international problems with his "14 POINTS", WHAT DID YOU DO, TO MITIGATE FRENCH's WILL OF REVENGE or IMITATE WILSON's IDEALISM? TO STEAL TO THE GERMANS their COLONIES, their FLEET, PUNISHING THEM WITH IMPOSSIBLE WAR REPARATIONS! Morality? :)

  • You whinge & moan like a WOMAN! You never cease with your incessant garbage! Obviously to spen as much time as you do on You Tube you have no job. NOBODY is interested in what YOU have to say.NOBODY cares what YOU think. You are a self opininated moran. Give us all a break and FO like a good boy!

  • Try to ANSWER TO "MY GARBAGE", DISGUSTING RACIST!!!!

  • You are a coward, AND YOU KNOW YOU'LL ALWAYS LOSE WITH ME! GO, go, go to speak to "your friends"!!!!!!! :)

  • Hey! Pesto breath! I have NO Italian blood in me, ergo, I am NOT a COWARD. The British don't tend to do cowardice very well, we leave that to you Italians :) lol

  • But try to change your "words", you're BORING!!! Always "COWARD COWARD COWARD"???? Your IQ arrives just to the word "Coward"? What CAN I EXPECT FROM A RACIST???? I'm pretty much sure that you "ancestors" were good material for the gallows even in your island! :)

  • HA HA HA HA Yeah, The BRITISH ARE NOT COWARDS!!!! FANTASTIC.

  • "I have NO Italian blood in me, ergo (WOW, YOU KNOW LATIN, Great thing for a BARBARIAN like you), I am NOT a COWARD" -what I read from my GREAT FRIEND LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH -aka "the MOST BRAVE MAN (Man? :) on YOUTUBE"??? So, for you, MONKEY, Courage is a matter of "blood"? Come on, reach your conclusion, do you know that the Nazis "YOU DEFEATED" THOUGHT THE SAME ABOUT THE JEWS? A matter of "blood"... VERY INTERESTING

  • Yes indeed we Italians produce shoes and handbags... for the Italian WOMEN and ENGLISH MEN! LoL :)

  • I'm sure you belong to the GREAT and GLORIOUS British "INDEPENDENCE PARTY"!!! HURRAH!!!!! THANK TO GOD!!! THEY WILL REMAIN IN BRITAIN!!! :) EVVIVA!!! Nobody needs your "presence" in Europe, YOU ARE ATLANTIC, NOT EUROPE!!! GOD SAVE OUR GRACIOUS QUEEN, GOD SAVE OUR GLORIOUS QUEEN.... :)

  • I guess for you "only the Brits" are COURAGEOUS IN THE WORLD? Ah yes? Do I have to REMEMBER YOU ALL YOUR HUMILIATING DISASTERS in EUROPE and in YOUR "GLORIOUS HISTORY" of SACKING THE THIRD WORLD?

  • Indeed, I'M FEROCIUSLY PROUD THAT NO ENGLISH CARE ABOUT WHAT I SAY!!!! I WILL BE WORRIED WHEN I'LL FIND ONE OF YOU START TO REFLECT ABOUT WHAT YOU DID!!! Up to then, UTTER DISRESPECT FOR YOU!!!

  • And I do agree, "League of Nations" was mainly a British-French organization, it was a noble idea (American-born) but the Americans "Republicans" did not joined her and chosed isolationism once more (and Germany, Japan, Italy and Soviet Union later came out). But neither French nor British really believed in her or invest their strenght in forcing her decisions, they preferred to behave as IMPERIAL POWERS as always.

  • Hey, spagetti bollocks! Whe cares what YOU think or have to say?! Nobody! You either bore everyone with your ramblings, or you offend them. Be a good chap & go an design a ladies handbag, or a nice pair of shoes!

  • Scappa Scappa PERDENTE!!! CIAO MERDA, SEMPRE A TUA DISPOSIZIONE!!!

  • YOU STILL TODAY HOLD GIBRALTAR, the FALKLANDS, you held HONG KONG till some years ago and please don't say "THEY WANT TO BE BRITISH", IT HAS NO SENSE! YOU STOLE THOSE LANDS!!!! From a People who had an Empire founded on EXPLOITING THE POOR, HOW DO YOU DARE TO SAY THIS CRAP??????

    SHAME FOR YOU, DISHONESTS LOATHSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You make me only laugh..

Go to speak with the Americans, how they "consider you"!

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA = HISTORY of MISTAKES, BUT ALSO FREE IDEALISM

BRITAIN = Hope the US will NEVER BECOME AS YOU -but today, unfortunately, they are doing like you did.... Hope things will change and the Americans RETURN TO THEIR IDEALISTIC NATURE -OPPOSITE OF THE ENGLISH.

  • Im sick and tired of people on these pages slagging britain off during the war. Lets look at the facts, in a time of the nazis there was a time britain stood alone for over a year when france fell. Britain stood up when everyone else was bowing down and been indecisive. Without britain tell me where the launch pad would of been for D-Day? Tell me where? The whole of south England was full to the brim of allied soldiers ready. so show some respect Den365 and you will get respect back.

  • Hear! Hear! Well said that man! It seems the world is full of people with a huge chip on their shoulder about Britain's illustrious history. Keyboards warriors the lot of them. How easy to sit back & posture 60+ years down the line. Britain CAN claim the moral high ground. The French caved in, the US sat on the sidelines, the Russians were involved in an alliance with Nazi Germany in the early stages. Britain is the one country that stood it's ground from the start.

  • LIVERPOOL SCOTTISH agree thourughly some of the worse on these pages are the poles. I have met a few polish war vets in my time and they never felt the way these young poles felt.Like you said huge chip on their shoulder, and jealousy as well because of our traditions and history.

  • Thanks for the support! I fully concurr with your point about the significance of Britain being the spring board for D-Day. These idiots who constantly blame the British make me sick-particulary the Poles who appear to despise us more than the Germans who actually invaded them!! Perhaps we should have been WEAK like the French & colaborated with the Germans? We could have left the Europeans to it & cracked on with our Empire-just like Adolph wanted us to do!

  • Yes, couldnt agree more on that one.

  • Jealousy? Think it if you want.

  • Also Chamberlain "stood his ground"?

Tell the TRUTH, ONE TIME IN YOUR LIFE: YOU COULD NOT, having Hitler invaded Poland, let her alone as you did for Czechoslovakia. France beaten? Yes, you could SIGN PEACE -but you would have LOST YOUR FACE. I agree it's A MORAL COERENCE; but YOU HAD AN EMPIRE, BEHIND YOU, you WERE NOT JUST A "SMALL ISLAND". YOU WERE STRONG, TO RESIST THE GERMANS. I frankly don't believe you entered the war to "END WITH NAZISM" -NAZISM WAS A GOOD ALTERNATIVE TO COMMUNISM.

  • Just like in your "REAL-POLITIK" you supported Mussolini Fascism in Italy (Churchill himself WAS AN ADMIRER OF BENITO), or Thatcher with PINOCHET in Chile -ALWAYS "ANTI-COMMUNISM".

United States, indeed, waited for TOO MUCH TIME BEFORE CHOSING (the Japs forced them) THE WAR. Hitler and Mussolini "carelessy" declared war on the US thinking they would have never be decisive in Europe. It was their END -even if SOVIET UNION COULD "DO THE JOB ALONE".

  • The French "collaborated"? YES, IT'S A SHAME -just like "some" Italians COLLABORATED WITH THE NAZI in the "SALO'S REPUBLIC (while THE VAST MAJORITY HATED THE NAZI as always because the Italians NEVER LOVED THE GERMANS, and dozens of thousands chosed to fight, ALONE).

Do you think REALLY that, in a Britain "conquered" (IMPOSSIBLE, for me) by Nazis = NO BRITISH COLLABORATING? CRAPS.

  • Of course I SHOW RESPECT, but I repeat always what I see: you English ENORMOUSLY OVERRATED YOUR PART IN THE WAR. It seems you have "won alone" (something you NEVER DID IN ANY MAJOR WAR). I repeat, it's useless because I'm speaking with BLIND people. You were "attacked" by Germany and Italy and could DO NOTHING MORE THAN DEFENDING YOURSELF. STOP. Saying that Britain "wished to crush Nazism" is a BULLSHIT, because Chamberlain was the true English spirit = APPEASEMENT.

  • Britain was as UNPREPARED AS WEAK AS FRANCE and had she not been an Island Nazis Boots would have trampled her in a WEEK (or less).

You have ABSOLUTELY ZERO "MORAL HIGH GROUND": YOU DECLARED WAR TO GERMANS AND WERE ATTACKED BY THE ITALIANS: you could do NOTHING MORE THAN DEFENDING YOURSELF AND COUNTER-ATTACKING. Please now don't invent tales about your "Moral Coerence", considering your history YOU HAD NOT A SINGLE WORD TO DEFEND YOURSELF.

  • Ah, sorry, I correct myself: Britain ALWAYS HAD A MORAL COERENCE, that is, "DIVIDE AND CONQUER" in Europe, and RULE OVER PEOPLE OF THIRD WORLD. The Coerence of a People well interested to his own interests, not to "IDEALISM" = AMERICANS.

  • Where? From Italy, or violating neutrality of Ireland. You were a good platform.

  • Den365 i have read all your crap, and because of all your contradictions in your comments i must give you thumbs down old darling. Reason you say stop hate, start love then in your next comment you say fuck you, now thats not cricket old boy what! The other thing is this nobody on these pages have ever said that Britain fought and won alone during the war, we all know and acknowledge that it was a massive allied victory that won the war.

  • My "crap"? Ooooohh Thanks.... Very kind....

I don't want to speak with you 4 MORONS, you're just a BUNCH OF WANKERS, continue sucking your cocks one to the other, I know well how you English have always tried to "rewrite History" to ridiculize other people and exalt yourself: MISERABLE PEOPLE. Adieu!

  • YOU HAVE NO HONOUR. You are able only to SCORN OTHER PEOPLE -XENOPHOBIC, and RACIST. FUCK YOU AND GO TO HELL, BEAST!

  • You must be a person truly sad. I have frequently spoken with English, their "patriotism" was similar to your and even their mocking of the Italians, but were most of all ignorant people, full of prejudices and knowing nothing of how things are. Tell me, are you happy to scorn the others? Racism and Xenophobia are "values" for you? Is "Great Britain" the God in which you believe? Do you believe you are a "beautiful person"?

  • My darling pseudo-Scot from "Liverpool" (Thanks to the Beatles!), have you seen that in all previous discussion with other people, you found persons (Poles, Americans, etc.) that were supporting my IDENTICAL IDEAS? That were, simply, "Britain could not have won alone Second World War". Now, are you sure you are in full mental health as you say?

  • Most of all, the question you cannot escape: IF I AM REALLY MENTALLY SICK, WHY YOU STILL ANSWER ME? In Britain, you try also to convince the crazies? One doesn't need to demonstrate that the SUN IS NOT THE MOON, so, IF YOU ARE REALLY SO SUPERIORS, SHUT UP AND NEVER MORE TALK WITH "INFERIOR" PEOPLE!

  • Tell the truth you love to try to "humiliate the others".... WHY? Are you "Mentally Healthy"? All your statements about my alleged Mental Sickness seem to derive from a concrete EXPERIENCE...By the way ARE YOU REALLY SURE THE REST OF EUROPE WISHED TO BE ENGLISH? SURE? It is this you think in England? Boh.

  • ...to point one thing out: without the American help (monetary and military) the German army would have never been defeated. The British come directly behind the French runaways.

  • Precisely, but let the British amuse themselves -it's the only reason left they have.

  • Come on, no bad feeling, Ciao! Heartily Greetings for All!

  • Ooooohhh.... What I read from my friend LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH... The Italians are "ready to change flag": WOW, Thanks for this demonstration of loyalty to the Flag, please tell me were ready to "change Flag" even those politicians who paid with the prison or left Italy to escape Fascism, like Alcide De Gasperi or Sandro Pertini?

  • If I read well your interpretation is that a man must "follow his country up to Hell": so, in your opinion, even men like Klaus von Stauffemberg and all those who took part in the plot to kill Hitler (Rommel included), are just a bunch of TRAITORS? I'm not wrong in saying that had the Germans conquered Britain, they would have found fertile soil for Nazism in Britain.

  • It would not surprise me... Already 1500 years ago, when Romans abandoned Britain, you forgot the Latin and Celtic languages and started to speak "Anglo-Saxon" from the Anglo-Saxons-Jutes coming from the continent... Am I wrong? Now please don't tell me that you are a "Teutonic race", no my dear, British AREN'T GERMANS, they are CELTS, better, CELT-IBERIANS (go to check your DNA Y-MALE chromosome my darling).

  • Of course, as long as you possessed the fleet, the Americans would have come to rescue you -I'm sure you would never have surrendered the fleet, and surely you would have continued the war in the Empire. So even if Britain had fallen Soviet Union would have continued the war the same, and USA would have committed ALL their MIGHTY INDUSTRIAL POWER to invade Europe even without Pearl Harbour.

  • I repeat... you English have colonized the World because you are an ISLAND, in the ATLANTIC... separate from the rest of Europe -a situation "similar" to Spain or Portugal, who colonized the same, but less than you... Had WE ITALIANS lived in the Atlantic, and WITHOUT THE POPE IN HOME -who prevented each time the unification of Italy-we would have done MORE

  • I hope you have a geographic map, and know mr. Cristoforo Colombo, Amerigo (to which, "AMERICA") Vespucci, Giovanni Caboto (aka "JOHN CABOT"), or Marco Polo -ALL NORTHERN (or Central) ITALIANS- WE COULD NOT "COLONIZE" the Mediterranean, it was not an "empty land" like America, South Africa (ok there were the Zulus and after the Dutch Boers) or Australia

  • Please now tell me -IF WE ITALIANS ARE "MAFIOSI"- HOW MANY NORTHERN ITALIAN ARE IN THE "ITALO-AMERICAN" (Southern Italo: Sicilian, Neapolitan, Calabrese) MAFIA?

The reason for which you know only the worst side of Italy, is due to "SOME" Southern Italians -whose VAST MAJORITY are HONEST and HARDWORKING PEOPLE- now tell me "WHERE ARE THE NORTHERN ITALIANS" IN USA? 1) They emigrated less; 2) They were not "so different", even in physical appearance, to be labelled as an "exotic ethny"

  • When I talk of "Celto-Germanic" inheritance I'M NOT "INVENTING" ANYTHING -If you have a geographic map, I hope that you'll find that the Northern part of Italy is boundering FRANCE, SWITZERLAND, and AUSTRIA (and even SLOVENIA), is not near "Tunisia", "Albania" or "Greece".

  • Why "thumbs down" about "Northern Italians MAFIOSI" or "NO CELTIC-GERMANIC ancestry for many Northern Italians"? How much ignorance... A friendly advice: STOP HATE, START LOVE.

  • Excellent clip M8.. Have done one myself with not as many pics .. Can i ask where you got them from??

StormbringerII i,m scottish & your talking shit...

  • ...in regards to what exactly?

  • The Italians "surrendered"? In East Africa, yes, after hard fighting, like in Keren -and Amedeo Guillet continued his war with his little band of Ahmara cavalrymen; in North Africa, "Operation Compass", Wavell with 35.000 against 120.000? I do agree; the point is that, in that SHAMEFUL SURRENDER, the "Italians" (you did capture mainly Lybics troops and "Blackshirts", a fascist militia...) had tanks? Had cannons? Or were they only INFANTRY with mules?

  • Even your mediocre Matildas were better than the BEST of Italian tanks, the M13/40... Before El-Alamein, I don't find such an overwhelming "British superiority" -remember Rommel first had only 2 Divisions... the rest was Italian... Go to check the losses, "Italians/Germans", who bled more...

In Tunisia? In Tunisia 250.000 Italo-Germans surrendered to the Americans and British: the Germans did it too.

  • In Sicily? Well, the Livorno armoured division fought VERY WELL, alongside the Panzer "Goering"... And you were facing the Sicilians...

Italy then "surrendered" in 8 September? Well, Mussolini was arrested, the King and Marshal Badoglio signed the surrender... Then fleeding like COWARDS towards the Allies in the South, leaving no orders to the garrison of Rome... THEN STARTED ITALIAN RESISTANCE... WHEN THE ITALIANS SURRENDERED?

  • If the Italians have really "no stomach for a fight", WHY THE CHOSED TO FIGHT AGAIN AGAINST THE GERMANS IN CENTRE AND NORTH ITALY, and in the South sending also a CORPS TO FIGHT ALONGSIDE THE ALLIES in their -VERY, VERY SLOW- effort to defeat Kesselring's handful of Germans? Go to see Battle of Monte Lungo...

If the Italians are really "COWARDS", WHY THEY CHOOSED TO FIGHT INSTEAD OF SIMPLY COMING BACK HOME?

  • And mind that in Centre-North, the war continued from 8 September 1943 to 25 April 1945... 19 MONTHS... 19 MONTHS in which the Italians were under the Nazi yoke, go to see MARZABOTTO and the SLAUGHTERS THE GERMANS HAD DONE IN ITALY, and having NO HOPE OF RECEIVING ALLIED SUPPORT... If not the "launch" of weapons to the Partisans... It's a WAR WE HAVE FOUGHT ALONE.

  • Why you don't go to see the SLAUGHTER OF THE "AQUI" DIVISION IN CEPHALONIA, a Greek Island... 9.640 DEAD out of 12.000... DEAD, NOT "KILLED AND WOUNDED"! They refused to surrender to the Germans, fought until they had ammunition and knew very well their destiny... to be SHOT TO THE LAST MAN!

  • Naturally "not ALL" the Italians "chosed to fight": the Italian Army the day of armistice, 8 September 1943, was about 1.900.000 men strong, garrisoning Italy, France, Yugoslavia, Greece, Albania: it received no orders, cause the government (King and Badoglio) had fled towards the Allies. Germans were already in Italy to "protect her"; the Army DISBANDED and Germans captured 600.000 Italians, sending them to concentration camps. Those who not disband turned into Partisans, in Italy and outside.

  • Mussolini was rescued from his prison by Skorzeny's men (Fallschirmjagers): he organized the "Italian Social Republic" in the North, the "Salò's Republic", a puppet-Quisling style government "allied" (serf) of the Germans. Those Italians who were still "Fascists" rallied around Mussolini to fight the Partisans and the Allies. It was a Civil War, the Italians fought on both sides, sad but true, even if the majority simply HATED THE NAZI and wished the END OF THE WAR.

  • LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH

  • Not ALL the Italians are "scared" of the enemy.

  • fuck off you catholic, latin, coward piece of shit. even today you stab our countrymen at football matches and so on, you are bunch of cowards like the ira.

  • You don't know NOTHING of the "Italians". We AREN'T ALL CATHOLICS, and even if I AM, this is my choice, not you, so FUCK YOU AND FREE EIRE!

  • I "stab"? Who? Am I responsible for our Ultras? If there is a country SHAMEFUL for his HOOLIGANS... Don't cry if in Italy the Police hit you, you DESERVE IT FULLY.
