Ubuntu 7.10 Compiz Fusion Desktop Effects

When you activate Desktop Cube, it will tell you that you need to disable Desktop Wall. Do it (trust me the cube is way better anyway ;).

Off-note: Is that the proper way to end a parenthetical phrase with a smiley?

By the way, anybody know the movie playing in the background?

It's been a while since I posted this, but all the configuration remains the same.

To install the CompizConfig Settings Manager: `sudo apt-get install ccsm'

To open the CompizConfig Settings Manager: System > Preferences > CompizConfig Settings Manager (not at my computer, but I'm pretty sure that's it)

To enable the cube: Activate the Desktop Cube plugin in CCSM

Additional Plugins (more animations and other goodies): `sudo apt-get install compiz-fusion-plugins-extra'

Linux its free installs very fast and u dont need serial!

No serial needed it's free... Try Wubi if you want to try Ubuntu, very simple.

does ubuntu 7.10 already come w/ that flame writing effect?? also does it already come w/ compiz fusion, or must i cut and past the comands to ubuntu from the compiz fusion site??

it already comes with compiz fusion. you just have to install the settings manager so you can control how everything works. i think its something like "sudo apt-get install ccsm". there are lots of tuts on the web.
