  • Cryo sure made a lot of crap after this very good game.

  • for sound in dosbox - content of dune.bat (sb port 220, irq7):

  • @Kada2k6 so, I looked up the amiga version and it's total crap. Long live adlib!

  • @Kada2k6: I definately agree!

  • L'un des jeux les plus immersifs auquel j'ai jamais joué même s'il était beaucoup trop facile ! Je préfère largement cette bande-son à celle de la version cd.

  • >Virgin Games

  • >Virgin Games

  • Ahhh... Brings back memorise... Besides Alone In The Dark and Colonisation, this is the 286 game that I am most nostalgic about

  • nicccccceee!

  • still the most impressive game intro ever.

  • wow this going way back isnt it?

  • Wow, is this old school or what?! Looks like vintage 1989-1990.

  • Picq made some other game's music, for example, lost eden, or megarace, if I'm not mistaken.

    Great music too.

  • Yeah, Picq's phenomenal. Still has a website somewhere, too.

  • VIRGIN!!!!

  • this game used to scare the shit out of me when I was a kid, I was always terrified to die in the desert riding the helicopter thing

  • Fav game of all time!

I played it for the novel, I played it for the soundtrack, I played it for the journey...

    A true masterpiece!

  • I LOVE DUNE

The videogame and the novel are awesome, and the soundtracks of the game are the best music in a videogame EVER

  • @VodooKingMafiaW

I agree the novel and games are awesome. Notice how the novel influenced many films like Star Wars, Avatar, Nausicaa, The Matrix and many more?

  • At 1:00 minute, i have never seen this in the game, who did?? And were is that? Also the Village from smuggler never find it in the game.

  • this panorama was maybe sometimes as a background when in some village. And the viliga at 1:10 - I know I found it somewhere when I played it about 5 years ago, but when I played it now I didnt.

  • Can't agree more. One of the best games I have ever played in my life. Proud and thankful I was able to experience it back in the day.

Has one of (if not THE) best music tracks in the gaming world.

  • best music ever made

  • Jaaaaa, das ist die Anfangsmusik von dem ersten Dune PC-Spiel für DOS auf Disketten - cooler Sound des Franzosen!! Die Disks habe ich noch irgendwo im Keller verkramt...

  • Always loved the gulf war footage at 2:10...

  • This as one of the best games i ever played back in the day ^^

    LL dune.

  • Tastes and colors ;)

  • Funny, cause this is the Amiga version.

  • Uh crap I was playing a .mod through this thinking it was this video -.- Yea it's pretty crappy.

  • This is the PC version ;) you can found the Amiga version under the title "amiga500 dune - intro".

  • As I remember it the AI for the units was crap though. They wouldnt defend themselves unless specifically ordered to do so. Instead they just stood there, letting the enemy pick them off.

  • That's dune 2

  • I remember it as if it was just yesterday! Amazing game, amazing music, amazing spirit and atmosphere...

  • Incredible why is it games nowadays even though they have huge advances in graphics dont seem to awe us as these games did, LONG LIVE THE CLASSICS!

  • Incredibleeeeee.......

  • i played that on my first PC. An AT 286/16

  • hhaaha me 2.

  • Oh, my God, I remember when I was like 10 years ago, spending day and night trying to figure out how to adjust sound. Games those days... needed all kinds of configurations. One of the best games, I still play it, though it works crappy on a mid-end computer of 2006. Thanks for uploading. If you don't mind, could you put the ending as well? With a spoiler caution...

  • Yes the Amiga version was blasting the speaker...

    Anyway thanks for posting this.

  • Indeed, the music sounds different than i remember from my Amiga version :P. Great game, just watching this vid makes me want to play it again. It's funny how some characters look like their counterparts in the movie, but others look completely different.

  • In a french newspaper (TILT) the journalist publish work in progress of the Game and Feyd was exactly the clone of Sting in the film, it seems they have to redraw it because Sting don't give agreement to cryo.

And yes, AMiga music were defintely astounding...

but everyone know to find them now... :d

  • I still have the original floppys + CD version. MUHAHAHAHA

  • one of the best games ever! And the music is amazing ...

  • thx for uploading this!

  • I remember playing this on my Amiga 500.

  • Hmm... Oblivion ... yeah a great game. Nice looking.

But still I like to play with Dune I. I walked through it as many times, that I just lost my count, but still love this game. And here you can walk along on the Complete planet of Arrakis(!) not just a 3x4km big area called Cyrodill. :D
