Jaedong had absolute map control almost the entire time =(. If it were bisu or boxer they would have scouted out the defenseless expansions and taken them out. Pity Baby never decided to use tank drops to at least harass (cuz mutas fly quite fast...)
Jaedong was just throwing masses of troops at baby at the later half, without microing them it seems. It didn't matter since he had 6 bases and churned them out faster than baby could keep up with. But I'm sure he could have played better if he felt the need to.
That was silly that he didn't get even 1 science vessel. He had an opportunity to irradiate 2 groupsof mutas all stacked together in a big pile. Well worth the cost any way you slice it.
Yes the muta wrecking ball of death would have killed the science vessel just like the tanks, but he only needs to hit irradiate 1 time per vessel to be worth the cost when you're talking about that many mutas all clumped together.
Baby went 14 CC with a wall-in. The 10 o'clock position can't have a wall-in with Marines spawning inside of the wall, unlike the other spawns. This would have made it very very hard for him to stop any sort of 9 pool build.
As for the game, Irradiate on 22 mutalisks is probably worth it...
That would have been good to use science vessels but I can understand why Baby was going goliaths since science vessels take a lot of gas and Jaedong was going mass hydras with muta tanking support plus the fact that he committed to 2 factories early in the game.
Overall, he could've tried that and do the SK terran push but he is just too late to do that tech switch in mid-game.
Mech takes a lot of gas. It's hard to avoid vessels, and since lurkers & defilers aren't that great vs. mech, the need for irradiate/detection is much lower. (That said, they're certainly useful against muta clumps.)
It's good, and pro zergs should probably use it more, but it can be hard to get defilers in range against siege tanks. (Also, dark swarm works fine vs. goliaths, so if you can keep his tank count down, there's no problem.)
I wonder why Zergs don't use PLAGUE against MECH Terrans, that would FUCK THEM UP much more than DARK SWARM. I mean, 2 plagues, an mutas takes the rest like shit.
@kiirr i think its bcoz in the early game, you have rather fewer zerglings, so for the sake of comparison, lets say you have 6 zerglings with your first 11 mutas. using two zerglings to trap and stack the mutas is 33.33% of your zergling army, which you might need to give support to your muta harass. those lings might be useful to snipe some scvs or turrets in the natural, while your main muta army is harassing in terran's main.
i am not saying is bad to have vessel. at 2 gas and 3rd just started. 1 vessel+upgrade irr is 425gas... he need at least 4 to 5 thats 1100gas+ u know how much less of goliaths he get?
btw this is pro gaming 400/rpm u think any zerg user stupid enuff to let the irr in the muta stack?
hahaha i have too laugh, you act all high and mighty as you know everythin about sc and calls people who wants vessel noobs, ever thought about 2 groups of stacked mutas, 1 irridate and you can take out like 7-8 mutas, and irridate defilers?
all u noob asking y no vessel? let me ask y vessel? jd didnt only had 4 lurker.. look at the amount of muta. vessel is gonna get pick off just like those tanks. the crybabay only has 3 gas running he need those for goliaths
JD did not show any mercy to a little baby so mean.
What? It was obvious that the winner was going to win. It was the loser's responsibility to make a move towards a killing blow, which he couldn't even do. There was no way he could've won in that situation.
probably couldn't make one due to crappy econ....he would have had to build a port and sci facility along with his armoury and additional factories while keep up with his attacking/defending units....
JD's relentless harrassment forced Baby to turtle hard....if he didn't have enough goliath and turrents it would have been gg
imho, once baby's vulture harrassment failed it was over...JD had the upper hand and he played it well...
I was concerned that JD was vulnerable to mech (hell, he even got destroyed by Canata with mech [older game]). But between this game and versus SkyHigh, I'd say he knows exactly what to do.
Something along the lines of:
-harass early and often to delay timing push
-missile ups and air carapace ups asap
-pick off tanks with muta and swarm with mass hyda
-and dark swarm, if needed, to turn goliaths into tin cans versus hydra
@kiirr i guess what you mean is that at 19:20 you can see that jd stackED mutas with a trapped zergling, not stackS. in the early game, its still considered better to stack it with a slow ovie, rather than get the 2 zerglings needed.

You don't need to go SK, you can just add a Vessel or two to Goliath/Tank.

25:25 they change his crowns for a BIG "P", and the commentators gone crazy talking about it, somebody explain me plz wath means the "P"
tomceleste 2 years ago
"P" means 100 hundred wins.
Each star is 2 wins.
1 silver crown = 5 stars = 10 wins
1 golden crown = 2 silver crowns = 20 wins
5 golden crowns = 100 wins
So, basically, that was his 100th win this season and he was awarded an "MVP weekly" award for that achievement.

It's also a little tricky to do as well, because of not only vessels irradiating filers, but tank range can be a bitch if he gets the jump on you.
