i am an older girl,49, and my filly is growing up fast; 22 months old. thank you so much for the help as i'm learning along with her. so far since she was only 4 and a half months old when we got together neither of us have been hurt together. she has alot of 'fire' and also very smart. i am lucky to find what i need to learn for our safety. your video is very much appreciated .
I have a very stupid question: Why is it dangerous for the horse, if a person has the rope around their hand or arm? Isn't it only dangerous for the person?
Very nice video by the way, there are some great tips!
@TroWu the horse could drag you and stumble or run into something because he thinks he is being chased. also, if it gets under ythe horses feet they could freak out and flip and hurt themself or anything.
At 30 years old, and over 20 years working with horses, I'm still learning some of the basics that I didn't need to know with other horses. My mother has a bossy draft/paint mix, and I'm trying to retrain him in ground manners. He's sweet as alfalfa in the stall, and listens very well under the saddle. On a lead, he just pulls me, and I'm not that strong, so we go where he wants! I want to teach him not to, without hurting him in any way! Any like these are very much appreciated!
