  • The didn't get sued because they probably didn't even hear about it. Neither did they have to care, it's not like the Residents sold any copies.

  • 3 beatles fanboys don't like this

  • Like x 10. The original 'plunderphonics'.

  • Since I am a brony and a avant-garde music fan, I am going to make a sound collage of quotes, songs, and background music from MLP: FIM.

    Is it a good idea?

  • @Mum2Boys Do it. I'm a brony that wants to see it

  • @MightyQuinn2021 Well, I will try. Please, the only editing programs I have are Audacity.

  • @Mum2Boys Cool. Let me know when you've finished it

  • Residents got it right. It's the art not the names or faces. Thank you. USPS. Seen them live in SF back in the '70s.

  • NEW SOUND IN RAP view my channel for all songs

  • MASTERPIECE.

  • I have it on some Ralph 2 LP disc sampler

  • This is like Jive Bunny's suicide note.

  • There is a very good possibility that i will never sleep again after listening to this.

  • Very impressed by what they could do- I'm not sure having better technology has made mixing any more interesting.

  • The video was definitely not made in 1977, many of the effects were impossible then, and the Mandelbrot set was only rendered in full colour for the first time in the later 1980s. So who made the video and when?

  • @GRAHAMAUS The song was made in 1977, the video is just a slideshow made in Windows Movie Maker by the uploader.

  • @Animal2Fish0 1973/4

  • Not to be listened to after a night on the town. LOVE IT!!!!

  • Reminds me of Revolution 9

  • Mister-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r Mo-o-n-light!

Great job on this genius track!

  • Utter madness. Yet sheer brilliance.

  • I've got this one the 1982 Best of Ralph album. The Residents were masters of avant-garde music in the 70s and 80s.

  • They still are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o)

  • This was recorded nearly 30 years ago and many years before mash mixes/digital editing was widely used. This was done all with tape loops. Right up there with Revolution 9.....Residents Rule !

  • @Nightdividestheday Um, this was recorded in '73/'74 Released in '75

  • Im just listen to The Residents for first time today, and i dont understand the concept of this band, what is Avant Garde? I Trying to download song of The Residents, but its hard!

  • You can go to allmusic s website and type Avant Garde, in this case it is something going against the grain basically.

  • This is nothing like there other works. Then again, nothing they do is like there other works. I reccomend looking for The Comercial Album, The Mole Show: The Big Bubble and The Bunny Boy albums for a sample of there works

  • Great upload, many many thanks!

Beats the Love album or the Grey Album into a psychedelically-coloured cocked hat.

  • Thank you for posting this! I love hearing it...sublime.

  • =]great!

  • Nice visuals! I got this on the Third Reich bonus release.

  • genius

  • completely bonkers....completely wonderful

    thank you

    x

  • Number 9...Number 9...Number 9...Number 9...Number 9...Number 9...Number 9...Number 9....Number 9...Number 9...Number 9...Number 9...Number 9...Number 9...

  • How did they not get sued for this in 1977?

  • cuz no one knew who they were in 1977. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh the inhumanity of it all.

  • @SubmarinerAndroid Edition of 500 and never released again. It fell under the radar.

  • @SubmarinerAndroid Parody is protected speech. Also, when they came out with Meet the Residents (their first album, the one with the scrawled-up cover of Meet the Beatles), they were going to be sued by the CMI and Capitol. However, the Beatles loved the cover and bought a copy. Chances are that after that they were deemed "unsuable" for any parody they did of the Beatles (not that any lawsuit would've worked).

  • @SubmarinerAndroid They did. Lol

  • @SubmarinerAndroid If you dont even know who the bandmembers are how can you sue someone than ?

  • @3y3b4ll666 - One sues the Cryptic Corporation. In any case, the bandmembers' names are a matter of record in BMI songwriting information.

  • @Timmybear not for this one. It was independently released.

  • @MrMonsterstiffy - Well, the Cryptic Corporation IS the Residents.

  • Thank you for uploading:)

    5***** and fav.
