The video was definitely not made in 1977, many of the effects were impossible then, and the Mandelbrot set was only rendered in full colour for the first time in the later 1980s. So who made the video and when?

I've got this one the 1982 Best of Ralph album. The Residents were masters of avant-garde music in the 70s and 80s.

This was recorded nearly 30 years ago and many years before mash mixes/digital editing was widely used. This was done all with tape loops. Right up there with Revolution 9.....Residents Rule !

Also, when they came out with Meet the Residents (their first album, the one with the scrawled-up cover of Meet the Beatles), they were going to be sued by the CMI and Capitol. However, the Beatles loved the cover and bought a copy. Chances are that after that they were deemed "unsuable" for any parody they did of the Beatles (not that any lawsuit would've worked).
