i like the Venza - but the ride was not as smooth as say a Solara I once had. But I looked into the Volvo XC70 - a real sport wagon that can be had around the same price - about 35K nicely loaded. with free maintenance including wear items for 5yr /60K. when you factor in that - this wagon looses some appeal.
I love this venza in every way, cept one thing, the grille. But that is a detail. Id rather have this than the Camry its based off of, more versitile!! Cool, If only it wasnt so expensive.

i love america but i hate their cars. i own a corolla and my wife wants to get this car more than the ford edge, which she loved more than anything. my corolla is a monster when it comes to gas mileage and when gas was 4.50 a gallon i was pissed but not as pissed as others with v8's or v6's. 4 cylinder asian cars are better than 4 cylinder american cars. i was choosing between the corolla and ford fusion but ford was trying to rape me on interest. toyota all the way
I just bought a V4 AWD a week ago. For gas saving I bought V4 and also concerned if it would be hard to get speed-up. To my suprising it's actually easy to get 100 KM with V4, not that sounds hard, as long as you don't expect a speeding car, I really recommend to buy it with V4 which saves you almost $2000 plus gas saving in future.
@toyotadeaths If you would actually research this, you will find out that the Toyota recalls were due to USER ERROR. All it took was 1 person to falsely accuse Toyota, and it just went downhill from there. After looking for the problem, they found that all the systems were just fine, and that the accidents on the said faulty vehicles were due to user error. People saying they pressed the brakes, actually stepped on the gas, etc.. It is really sad that you dedicated a whole username to this..

Can anyone give me ONE reason why this sedan/SUV is a good idea? It gets same MPG as RAV4, but much less space. It's not a sedan, it clearly gets worse MPG, and doesn't drive like sedan. Anyone? Enlighten me? Also can anyone tell me why all the other idiotic automakers are following this trend?
As a owner of a Toyota Venza I HIGHLY recommend this car =) i love it and it has lots of room! if u like towing things this isn't the car for you tho. i'm also glad its not on the recall list -.^
I'm gonna get one of these for my parents. They're old folks and will like that it sits higher than a sedan, but not as high as an SUV. The gear-shifter sticking out in the middle of the dash isn't so great, however.
My mom purchased a Venza back in Nov 09 & we love it! We have been on two Road trips to date & this car performs Great on the highway, it performs even better in the city! Our trade-in was a GMC Envoy(ugh worst auto we ever own out of 15), She wanted to move down to a Affordable Sedan thats was more reliable, elegant, get way Better gas mileage than the Envoy. Its drive so much like a car(I have an IS 300) u forget about the Hatch! Love our Silver Toyota Venza!
The Japanese car are the best quality car made in Japan or assembled in American (GOOGLE & WIKIPEDIA stats. But the American Ford F-Series trucks kicks the Japanese competition in the ass. It depends. The car will last if you treat it with care. My grandpa has a Toyota Corolla 1991, he bought it new when it was new in that year. It hasn't cause him any problem at all. Little things has been a problem, but it still functions like when bought it new. I love Toyota's. It will last if you take a good care of it.

I have driven approx 200 Venza's and all of them were brand new. I cant say more about that. None of them are built properly. Look as long as you dont care that the dash will end up in your kids bedroom mixed with their toys then buy one Take a good look around on the test drive Look at the gaps between the horn and the steering wheel, look at the vents and speakers that dont line up with the dash. Roll down the windows if they're wet and i bet it will come back up looking exactly the same

This Venza is 7 inches longer and 4inches wider than the RAV 4 ... it's just too bulky for urban driving. Besides the styling realy sucks compared to the Ford Edge.

the shifter doesnt shift when you want it to instead it just beeps, the big wheels make the ride as comfortable as falling down a flight of stairs and, the engines are not refined the trim inside the cup holder stays on your cup when you pick it up, the wood is very fake, the shift knob spin around THE BUILD QUALITY IS SERIOUSLY HORRIBLE The only thing that the Venza has in its favour is that its NOT BORING like the rest of the toyotas because you can count the number of parts you can remove

venza's the way to go, shitty are american cars. my camry went to 280K no problems, have a solara right now that is at 268K and other than regular maintenance, and the usual stuff like brakes, or timing belt after so many kms the cars still drove like a million bucks. Buy an american piece of crap if you want to dump your lemon after 80k when things start going wrong.

A decent car. However, the Toyota Venza should be classified as a station wagon. The vehicle is based on a sedan with an extended cab. Despite a couple inches in height, the Venza is stil a station wagon.

i love my 2005 camry.. it has 107k on it not one problem. Mom had a 2002 Chevy Malibu.. JUNK! Rented a 2009 version, better but still JUNK status. Ford Fusion is not bad, but it should be, its a re bagged Mazda 6 (even ford knows they cant build a real car). and dodge.. yeah moving on.. Camry is one of the best cars out there, the Accord great car, and Hyundai is improving daily. When you drive these cars Camry, accord and from other makers from japan even Europe your driving real cars.
Sure it is.. unless you can spends tons of money fixing the foolish thing or replacing the thing every 3 years thats the most important thing. You know why gm and dodge failed ? They are junk. And its expensive to keep junk going. And with limited credit, or no credit and no jobs out there now you need something that lasts. I think Toyota is trying to compete with it self. I mean the Venza can compete with it's own Rav4 and Highlander. The price atleast here in Puerto Rico is not friendly with the 4cyl starting at 29K ouch.
Don't buy this if you are thinking it's avalon but minivan utility.. Very harsh ride it is, I was so disappointed after test driving it. Almost bought it.. We ended up buying highlander which has softer ride overall but controlled, its design lies on boring side. Vensa's harsh ride is so disappointing.

hahaha the ford fusion that piece of junk man i had to drive one while my tacoma was being repainted my sister let me borrow it. anyways to my point it sucked, it had horrible road feel and the acceleration sucked plus the brakes were horrible i had to put the brake to the floor to get a decent deceleration. oh and who was it that did the consumer report cause some car review companys are funded by the car makers themselfs.
It was consumer reports it's self. Totally independent from the car companies. They go around and anomously buy cars from dealers and then do extensive testing and reviewing on them. The Ford Fusion got a recomended label from them as well.

Can anyone give me ONE reason why this sedan/SUV is a good idea? It gets same MPG as RAV4, but much less space. It's not a sedan, it clearly gets worse MPG, and doesn't drive like sedan. Anyone? Enlighten me? Also can anyone tell me why all the other idiotic automakers are following this trend?

I'm gonna get one of these for my parents. They're old folks and will like that it sits higher than a sedan, but not as high as an SUV. The gear-shifter sticking out in the middle of the dash isn't so great, however.

My mom purchased a Venza back in Nov 09 & we love it! We have been on two Road trips to date & this car performs Great on the highway, it performs even better in the city! Our trade-in was a GMC Envoy(ugh worst auto we ever own out of 15), She wanted to move down to a Affordable Sedan thats was more reliable, elegant, get way Better gas mileage than the Envoy. Its drive so much like a car(I have an IS 300) u forget about the Hatch! Love our Silver Toyota Venza!

It depends. The car will last if you treat it with care. My grandpa has a Toyota Corolla 1991, he bought it new when it was new in that year. It hasn't cause him any problem at all. Little things has been a problem, but it still functions like when bought it new. I love Toyota's. It will last if you take a good care of it.

Toyotas are all crap. And people choose them over the big 3. Toyotas now recalling over 2 million cars. They even suspended buyers from getting new ones. I have driven approx 200 Venza's and all of them were brand new. I cant say more about that. None of them are built properly. Look as long as you dont care that the dash will end up in your kids bedroom mixed with their toys then buy one Take a good look around on the test drive Look at the gaps between the horn and the steering wheel, look at the vents and speakers that dont line up with the dash. Roll down the windows if they're wet and i bet it will come back up looking exactly the same

This Venza is 7 inches longer and 4inches wider than the RAV 4 ... it's just too bulky for urban driving. Besides the styling realy sucks compared to the Ford Edge.

I should say that i deal with venza everyday, and im not just trying to be funny. I KNOW how bad it is, just like anyone who owns it will eventually see how bad it is. Ive seen many Venzas needing repairs, before they have been sold for the first time, and many times before the delivery of a new venza, people scramble to keep it together! SERIOUSLY!

the shifter doesnt shift when you want it to instead it just beeps, the big wheels make the ride as comfortable as falling down a flight of stairs and, the engines are not refined the trim inside the cup holder stays on your cup when you pick it up, the wood is very fake, the shift knob spin around THE BUILD QUALITY IS SERIOUSLY HORRIBLE The only thing that the Venza has in its favour is that its NOT BORING like the rest of the toyotas because you can count the number of parts you can remove

Underdog263 I understand what you are saying completely, and normally you'd be right, BUT, and its a big BUT, THE TOYOTA VENZA IS SERIOUSLY THE WORSE TOYOTA EVER MADE. Its may be the worse CAR ever made. Almost every part of the trim can be removed with one finger and will end up mixed with your kids toys, NONE of the trim inside ANY VENZA lines up and I have been in MANY VENZAS. Oh, and the 4 cylinder Venza sounds like a dying animal, and both the 4 and the 6 drive like boats

venza's the way to go, shitty are american cars. my camry went to 280K no problems, have a solara right now that is at 268K and other than regular maintenance, and the usual stuff like brakes, or timing belt after so many kms the cars still drove like a million bucks. Buy an american piece of crap if you want to dump your lemon after 80k when things start going wrong.

i just got my venza last month it's nice car in & out and performance five stars.
but it has a serious problem comes with The front cabin's, air noise caming form fornt doors.
i took it back to the dealer to get fix make storie short,and after they called toyota main company and drove anther branew venza they told me it's normal to hear that noise sound like i have my doors open. I HOPE THIS COMMENT HELPS! BEFORE YOU GUYS BUY AND ALSO IF YOU ALREADY HAVE 1 YOU SHOULD LISTEN TELL THE DEALER.

A decent car. However, the Toyota Venza should be classified as a station wagon. The vehicle is based on a sedan with an extended cab. Despite a couple inches in height, the Venza is stil a station wagon.
I guess too many people are scared of the word "station wagon".

i love my 2005 camry.. it has 107k on it not one problem. Mom had a 2002 Chevy Malibu.. JUNK! Rented a 2009 version, better but still JUNK status. Ford Fusion is not bad, but it should be, its a re bagged Mazda 6 (even ford knows they cant build a real car). and dodge.. yeah moving on.. Camry is one of the best cars out there, the Accord great car, and Hyundai is improving daily. When you drive these cars Camry, accord and from other makers from japan even Europe your driving real cars.

I was planning on getting the Murano over the Venza, but the 2009 model for the Murano doesn't look too good.
The Venza looks good but the it doesn't offer standard all wheel drive like the Murano.
Still, Venza > Murano with regards to looks. Anyone know how many people can be seated on the Venza?

Don't buy this if you are thinking it's avalon but minivan utility.. Very harsh ride it is, I was so disappointed after test driving it. Almost bought it.. We ended up buying highlander which has softer ride overall but controlled, its design lies on boring side. Vensa's harsh ride is so disappointing.

hahaha the ford fusion that piece of junk man i had to drive one while my tacoma was being repainted my sister let me borrow it. anyways to my point it sucked, it had horrible road feel and the acceleration sucked plus the brakes were horrible i had to put the brake to the floor to get a decent deceleration. oh and who was it that did the consumer report cause some car review companys are funded by the car makers themselfs.

It was consumer reports it's self. Totally independent from the car companies. They go around and anomously buy cars from dealers and then do extensive testing and reviewing on them. The Ford Fusion got a recomended label from them as well.
